Oreo and Pudding went for a trip to the vet today. Oreo was checked to see how things are moving since his ordeal on the weekend. For those of you who don't yet know, Oreo ended up at the emergency on Sunday for blockage in his colon. He had to undergo a procedure to clean everything out and is still on meds for the next few days. He threw up again yesterday so I was pretty concerned and brought him in for a follow up at our new vet clinic. Susie Vogel, the doctor, was amazing and she said that everything is looking good so far. She did a rectal exam and said that the stool there is soft and should move out easily. He got another prescription for a laxative that I am to administer if I see any signs of discomfort once again.
Pudding came with us because he ingested some string last night. It was quite a long piece and I am pretty concerned. It's also not the first time he does this. The last time, he vomited it up a few days later and I had to help pull it out of him. Susie checked him and said that there are currently no signs of discomfort so there's nothing to be done at this point in time other to continue to monitor him and administer some laxatone by mouth a few times daily for the next few days. He is also to eat hairball food to help get everything moving.
The new vet is really nice and I am glad we got to meet her today. I look forward to working with her as our regular vet moving forward.
