You show the disk (and thus the infinite sheet) as having an area vector orthogonal to X. Does this matter? What if the disk area vector is parallel to X?

You could have just multiplied the integral by half and put 2 in the numerator so you ´ll have the differential of what’s inside the bracket then you could add one to the exponent and divide the whole by the new exponent , you ´ll get the same result without the u-sub. method

how do I know from where to where should I integrate in this example you integrated from 0 to R please I want to know that point!
@stinbhavsar30894 жыл бұрын
@Yahia Bouchaala We integrate when we take a really really small part of a whole using some assumptions and adding them by giving it limits In this example we want to find the electric field due to a disc of radius r so we would take a small part of the whole disc and give them limits So for the disc we would integrate it from 0 to r because we want to find the field bcoz of the whole disc Correct me if i m wrong as i m new to this topic too

how do you get the electric field?? I thought E = kQ/r^2? Where does theta/2E(0) come from?
are we need to show the proving how we deduce the equation in the exam or its not nessacery????

What is the difference between capital R and lower case r; are they both the radius?
@rayxr6 жыл бұрын
Big R is the radius of the total disk. Lower case r is the radius of the inner disk.

when do you know when to use U-sub vs Trig-sub?
@ajn18813 жыл бұрын
Typically for U substitution, you will have a function and its derivative in the integral. Like 2x/x^2, you could simplify this. but u= x^2 and du (the derivative of u) = 2x thus du/u.
