Heavy is one of my favorite classes to pocket if we have one that knows what they're doing. Especially on Defense. A good heavy can't one-man an entire team but with good backup and proper Medic support, the guy turns the frontline into a brick wall. The enemy has to respect Heavy and give him some space or they just fucking die, meaning he and the rest of the team can move forward to close the gap. If I'm ever in trouble on the battlefield and have a Heavy nearby I can just stand near him and substantially increase my survival rate.

@Winasaurus2 жыл бұрын
Very similar in FF14. Big raids give you 3 groups of 8 with 2 healers each. If you have 2 bad healers in that group, your group will get wiped. And those alliance raids rely on each group performing their actions to win. In most groups, you need 2 competent healers. But when you're cracked, you can have the other healer literally drop dead and instead of rushing to spend your long-cast rez or long-cooldown instacast, you leave them dead and just singlehandedly keep your group alive. Or if you're mega cracked, find maintaining your own group so easy that you start healing other groups just to give yourself something to do. (White mages are just busted strong in almost all of FF14)

Love the Vacccinator, easily the Medigun i have the most fun with, it's just more proactive than "beam the soldier behind a corner and just stand there and watch him spam rockets", (also i just suck, it's why i play Medic, but we don't mention that) though from what i see from your gameplay you are a bit too paranoid of snipers to switch from the bullet resistance
@jetroid3 жыл бұрын
He plays with a bind so that he always has bullet passive and only switches to pop a bubble and then instantly switch back. It makes sense because usually explosives can be avoided with good mechanical play, but hitscan can't. Also, 10% passive resistance to blast or fire isn't ever going to save you from a one hit kill (Crit rocket is gonna eat you 10% or not...). But 10% bullet resist WILL save you from a headshot, so it's kinda logical to stick with passive bullet resistance even if don't have eyes on a sniper.

As another med main, absolutely love the video!! The only thing is it may sing a bit *too* much praise for the vaccinator? It is ABSOLUTELY my favorite medigun with how unique the gameplay with it is and how GOOD it is in situations it excels in, but the problem is it entirely depends on if the enemy team, well, isn’t good enough to coordinate to stop the combo! While it may be a given that it’s casual so coordination may not be a given; but heck, even just an engineer nest and a decent pyro can completely stop a vaccinator combo in their tracks! It’s resistances are incredible and gives both the medic and their heal target IMMENSE survivability, but against *any* type of focus fire, or really just sources of damage that can do multiple types of damage it can completely halt the momentum of a vacc combo! Say you’re pocketing a soldier or demoman; and you’re about to fight a combo pyro with the degreaser, panic attack, and power jack, depending on the skill level and due to being able to do all 3 types of damage in high amounts at any time during the fight you’ll either have to stack bubbles or have the best reaction speed in the world, not to mention that fire from pyros also reduce the damage resisted by vacc and healing done by mediguns! Which would cause you to use up almost all of your bubbles instantly; leaving you vulnerable for attacks from the rest of their team. An engineer nest being supported by their team should also be obvious; due to having two types of damage and aimbot + with the capability of the wrangler! You may have MUCH better luck against both of these with a heavy but unless it’s a 1 on 1 (heal target vs enemy and enemy medic if they have one) situation the vacc can be easily halted! It is still absolutely my favorite medigun due to how much it can turn the tide of games if say; there’s a sole carry like a god sniper holding down a sightline or kritz demo and how much unfair survivability it gives the med to anything except melee, but I just would rather not have this become the new ambassador with a bunch of people calling it the medic’s god’s honest cure-all
@mengie18773 жыл бұрын
True, and thats why its important to switch mediguns

Oh it's not. When the Crossbow enters the equation, not even a coordinated team can defeat the Vaccinator. There is a reason it's banned in 6v6. The ONLY reason I don't use it anymore is that I've become addicted to the thrill of "Pocket Jumping" with the Quick-Fix. What wouldn't I give for a Vaccinator that allows me to jump...
@amisstake8040 Жыл бұрын
@@joanaguayoplanell4912 Although the crossbow can increase the survivability of the heal target by a ton, the big problem with this is that switching to the crossbow immediately gets rid of the vacc's resistance bubble which gives competent players an easy chance to just pick you either killing you or forcing you to use many more bubbles in a much shorter span of time, effectively killing your uber! Although it is banned in competitive 6s competitive players still generally agree it's not as good as stock for a big reason;; Buffs. The vacc's biggest strength is keeping a single person alive for continuous, smaller fights, and with its slower bubble build on full HP targets and its much slower overheal rate it's nearly impossible to give buffs to your team as a whole which means that generally going into fights your team will have much less effective HP to work with which gives your team a very big disadvantage in most fights, even b4nny has brought this point up! Quick fix is very fun tho :)

The enemy team was composed of demos, soldiers and a heavy. It was so much spam, I didn't really have to switch to bullet res at all. We still lost the game, but my mere presence turned the match from a steamroll to a hard-fought battle. At nearly 3 separate occasions, the enemy med popped kritz on a soldier or demo and I was ready with one or two bubbles and watched as the steamroller dealt peanut for damage as he and the medic got mowed down. The enemy never got to our spawn this way. Goes to show you that even losses can be memorable. Lesson of the day: play medic ffs. I say that as a sniper main. I agree with what you said about the Medic making or breaking the team for the most part (Actually, I fully agree with it. I usually go Medic when I want my team to win or when I know my team needs an extra push), but sometimes it really is the rest of the team's fault. I can't count the number of times when my patient made some terrible decisions like running away from the front to chase a scout or spy whilst ubered, or somehow not noticing a sentry behind them whilst ubered, or even just under-estimating the bubbles and not going in when they'd have totally slayed if they did. Unfortunately I play without a Mic and can't communicate with them until after the fact, too. I don't know if you experience this too, but I generally find the session gets less frustrating as it progresses as you can learn which players won't let you down, which players always go in until they drop, and which will have the kindness to extinguish you or throw you a sammie. Reading this makes it seem like I hate Medic, but I'm just talking about those 5% of times when your team is weird and it's not your fault. The other 95 is on you, and it's rewarding to know that you probably helped tip the scales to a victory.

Yeah, the downside is that a lot of the time the people with hours into the game forget how they started and find new players struggling as a bad thing. Happens in almost every game. Overwatch was maybe the worst for it, with players who had been around longest typically also being the most toxic to new players. Nothing more annoying than losing not because we had a new player, but because we had a veteran player literally throwing because the new player wasn't playing how he wanted them to. I've had multiple thousand hour DPS mains literally suiciding over and over because we had a guy pick bastion. "Why are you picking shit heroes you're literally trolling I'm not playing". Meanwhile you just give the bastion boy a reinhardt shield and damage buff and he's team wiping for fun and the sweaty veteran is sat in a corner having a tantrum.

The overheal difference between the vaccinator and the stock is there simply to alter the playstyle of each one. Through quicker overheals, you can dish out more health across more teammates. However, through vac's resistance bubbles, you become a master pocket medic and your patient is near unkillable if you're commited to the task. The difference between stock and vaccinator is like the difference between the stock sniper and the huntsman, or the stock grenade launcher and the loose cannon. If you use the vaccinator like the stock medigun, then yeah you'll notice the sluggish overheal buildup.

It was beautiful to bring the whole team up there, Uber myself in, and change the Uber target a few times depending on who needed it, we were barely able to kill everyone, and destroy the sentries, so our team was able to cap. the satisfaction of knowing you turned the tides of a match is enough to play medic and the dopamine surge when you get a crossbow bolt on a on fire team mate with 20 health. and to top it off like 30000 heal points makes me feel great

I still remember that time in upward where i have pretty bad team, i manage to make a push with quick-fix (thx for arrayseven tips) and luckily red team didnt have a competent engineer. Although we still lose at last point, it feels great when you encourage your team as a medic I might gonna try vacc again, its been a while since i use that. Anyway take my subscribe

sometimes you just have to give it up to the player that got the best of you. the player that says "nice shot" when they get killed will improve faster then the guy crying in chat.

I played with the Vac yesterday on Goldrush defences and the enemy team were completely unable to push through the point even with 3 soldiers 2 demos and a heavy. The only time I found myself dying was to spies. But that was on me for getting tunnel vision. I have about 200+ hours on medic and have little use on the Vac because I'm a passive player, but man, when it gets you, it GETS you.

Bro, I admirate how you use the vaccinator I usually get traved with my own finguers and sometimes I'm sniping someone with a melee gun or I uber bullet resistance against pyros...

you're the only other medic i've seen at this point who uses crossbow as much as i do for just general close to mid range healing, not limiting it to faraway targets specifically asking for it i bought a strange medigun and crossbow at the same time and put allied healing on both and the crossbow is about double the healing the gun has

Shit like this is THE reason I main Medic Pocketing some god tier soldier and blowing them all to hell? Boring Rolling over the enemy team with Uber after Uber? Loses its fun if they don't fight back. Finding some overconfident 30-hour Pyro who's gonna charge in on that double-unusual aussie Soldier like it's his god-given right? Sign me the fuck up. I _love_ playing on bad teams. They take more damage, so I do more healing. They couldn't protect me if I paid them to do it, so I'm constantly engaged. And that moment when some free-to-play Heavy gets that revenge kill on the topscoring Demo main, entirely because I hit 3 crossbow shots and popped Uber? That shit is my cocaine. Knowing that I'm the whole reason someone way out of their depth can come out with a glorious victory is the kind of rush I can't get anywhere else, and even the process of it is so much fun that if I end up not being able to pull through, it was still one hell of a time trying.

Interesting ... I recently realized I had taken the habit of jumping every time I shoot a crossbow bolt, and apparently I'm not alone. I wonder what pushes us to do that. Besides that, completely agree with this video. I love introducing friends to TF2 and ubering them to the top of the scoreboard. The kritzkrieg relies more on their skill, but if they pull it off, it's so much fun for everyone involved ...

Ive found that you can pretty reliably get unskilled players to do crazy plays and flip the momentum of a push, It's the timid ones that are the only real waste. Ive double bubbled so many heavies that ended up retreating once they got to around 250hp. Many players really dont understand how survivable they are when vac ubered as opposed to the bravery-injecting stock.

Weirdly related but the same happens in FF14 and it's equally annoying. I'm popping off perfectly timed burst heals the moment a guy's health is low but he has no faith and keeps falling back or activating resistances he just doesn't need. The best one was a tank player who at the start asked me as healer to pick my "fun level" from 1-10, I said "8?" and he took off most his armor and never retreated from anything ever. Clearly he was cracked anyways but it was wild barely keeping him alive with him knowing the perfect times for his own buffs. I try to imitate the vax on new players thing whenever I do a raid or mission in that game by just telling the tank to pull everything. Nearly always they think I'm joking, but it's amazing basically forcing yourself to play cracked or lose. Double amazing because the DPS players get literally PERFECT DPS potential because every AOE is literally hitting every single enemy in the dungeon, and it makes the missions so much faster.

Hey! Just discovered this channel recently, and as a fellow med main (though not as dedicated it seems lmfao) I am loving this content. I put the vacc on the backburner for basically the entire time I have played med, but I think I might try and pick it up and learn!

Im a Medic player, has about like 300 to 350 hours on Medic alone, but never touched Vacccinator, always used Stock. But after watching some of your videos, I picked up a Strange Vaccinator, and I gotta say it's stressful to play as Vac Medic, but nothing can compete with the Adrenaline rush the Vaccinator gives, when you do everything right. Cheers

I remeber when the overdose was undappreciated, now everyone always explicitelly call it out in viedos about medics. what happened in the few months I didn't play? also, many non medic-main of long date remembers the "old" crossbow, the one that didn't reload on it's own

The only other class that can have as much game impact as Medic is Engi, because buildings are just that good. Sentry's deny's area, Dispenser keeps everyone alive and stocked with ammo, Tele makes sure people go to where they need to go, and both Tele and Dispenser groups the team together allowing for a big team push. Plus they're Spy magnets, meaning Medic's could worry less about the sneaky french man stabbing them. And Sentry's can (somewhat) stuff Uber with their knockback and crits resistance. Medic's act as the offensive edge for pushing enemies and making breakthroughs, while Engi's act as the defensive wall that breaks the tide of an enemy push. Medic's are still more influential than Engi's, of course, because the enemy can't push if they're all dead or out of position, but Engi's act as the anchor that keeps the area lock down and keeps Medic's safer than any other class can, and thus, by extention, makes him the second most influence class in the game. Medic's push, Engi's hold.
