Fun to go back on Peacock and watch early episodes of SNL. At some point, all of the really great music performances were cut out of the reruns due to legal issues, (not sure exactly what happened), which is so sad, since it was the absolute best part of the show.

Jason Reitman has the right pedigree for this job. His father, Ivan, produced Animal House, and directed Meatballs, Stripes, and Ghostbusters.

I remember when SNL first came out. No one had ever seen anything like it. Looking forward to watching it.

You two should host Saturday Night Live and pull silly lil pranks on the cast

This might be a longshot, but I would like to see Gabriel LaBelle getting nominated for best actor for this movie. While it is a full cast movie, I feel like it’s mostly on him to bring the audience into the movie and for him to steer the ship.

Sing Sing is the BEST MOVIE of the year and deserves nominations in most categories. The movie was shot on 16 mm film, in 19 days, with a very small crew. The DP, Pat Scola, should be nominated for an Oscar for cinematography because the visual look, the lighting, the film choice, all created the naturalistic atmosphere to tell the story. Accompanied with Bryce Dessner's score that sells the beautiful scenes and intimate facial expressions. And kudos to the director, Greg Kwedar, who allowed dialogue to be ad-libbed at times, which created the emotional essence throughout the film that tugs at your heart. The cast deserves best ensemble because 90% of the cast are the formerly incarcerated men that participated in the RTA theater program while in Sing Sing and that authenticity shines. And what can you say about Coleman Domingo.... he deserves the Oscar this year, his performance is perfectly understated, and he allows the other men to shine because this is their story. Well Done!! Also, Clarence Maclin and Paul Raci both deserve best supporting nominations. Their performances tie the strings that pull the film to its brilliance. Best movie overall in a very long time and well worth the emotional journey.

Hoping Australia gets the film in cinemas. Looks like a great film & can't wait to see how the actors go as the OG cast.

For a month or so I've just had the vision in my head that this could be the "safe" pick against something like The Brutalist for Best Picture, can just see it coming down to those two, but haven't seen it yet to be sure.

I think the concept is appealing, and I liked the trailer. However I am dutch and have never seen anything from SNL, so I don't know if this movie will work for me.

Not going to lie, seeing Juror No 2 set for a 2024 release, that could be the film that takes one of the last two best picture movies as well as last director and supporting actress and actor spot, maybe even original screenplay, buzzing for it

The way I feel about this movie is the same way I think normies feel about watching a new Marvel movie where you have to have seen a dozen other movies to appreciate the cameos. I don't doubt that it's entertaining, and yet, I feel repelled by it because I know I'm not gonna enjoy it as much as someone who is into SNL and knows the real cast members. It's a weird feeling.
