Valley of Fire, was only an hour from Vegas....and was far more fascinating than anything in Vegas. The Lake Road along Lade Mead was also worth it. I always avoided crowds. Cities and traffic jams at Nat Parks held no interest to me. Pro tip: Grizzley Bears with cubs....are very dangerous.

You have to do Lake Powell again, but for real next time. The way the locals do it is by taking a houseboat out into the lake, “parking” in the canyon for a week and then going out onto the open part of the lake everyday to boat, jet ski, and cliff jump. No cell phone service whatsoever and you’re literally just living on the water for a week. Sleeping on the top of the houseboat and bathing in the lake for a week was legit. Also, you will NEVER see such an epic sky.
@jimbeam71603 жыл бұрын
Lake Mojave is not as Red Rock scenic, but far less traffic or noise pollution.....Lake Mead is also less crowded.

Regarding the Zion Narrows, they started at the canyon end of the hike and were hiking against the current. They experienced just a small fraction of this famous hike that in my opinion is far from overrated. To hike the Zion Narrows you should take the lodge shuttle with your NPS permit attached to your pack. The trail starts 16 miles upstream from the main park canyon floor. Since much of it actually is in the Verde River, be sure to have a hiking stick because the river rock is very slippery. This is one of the most exciting hikes in the U.S. and takes you thru a towering slot canyon! Check with the NPS regarding getting a permit and theweather forecast. This is no place to be in the rain due to flash flood potential. Have fun!

I saw you didn't put Yosemite on your list, I figured it was because of the crowds so I just wanted to give a tip to some of you. Because of the fact that Glacier point road is closed in 2022, the four mile trail is incredibly calm and there are not that many people. If you combine it with the panorama trail en John muir/mist trail you really only start to see big crowds when you reach the Nevada falls. It was really awesome, we only saw one other guy on all of the panorama trail (Glacier point to Nevada falls).

If you liked Delta Lake in the Tetons then you'll flip for the Teton Crest Trail that takes you to Alaska Basin then out either Cascade Canyon or Death Canyon (my preferred route cuz less people and you hike on the side of a mountain with great views on 3 out of 4 sides! Take a couple of bad steps and good bye world!
