Anyone else find themselves casually reading the comment section while watching/listening to the podcast? Without even knowing it, Theo has cultivated a community amongst his listeners. Yes, he’s a comedian, but he uses his podcast/platform to strip away all ego and lay it all out there with extreme vulnerability. He’s a naturally curious person, and, in sharing his curiosity, it’s like he’s opening up little pockets of support all throughout the comment sections.
@stephaniep77973 ай бұрын
I agree. It's funny cus during the podcast Theo says, "If I were a leader", and I thought, he's cultivated a community of people that come from a lot of different walks of life to see things from the same perspective and share a vulnerable moment together. Sounds like a leader to me already.

My mother is a narcissist who suffered from abuse as a child, my father was an addict my whole life. I had a series of stepfathers who ranged from physical abuse, sex addicts, and emotionally unavailable. At age 12 I was dumped on my grandmother who suffered from depression and who was mentally and emotionally abusive. I grew up with the “what is wrong with me” question all the time, I had trouble processing my own emotions and spent most of my adult life in fight or flight mode. When I became a parent myself, i wanted to be different from my own parents but didn’t know HOW. It was conversations like this that have helped me identify what I need to work on and how to be a present, available, patient, and a loving parent. I’m not the perfect parent but these conversations ARE SO IMPORTANT in the work I put into being a parent. Theo is out here doing the lords work!! THANK YOU!!

Your story is so relatable. At 16 I got married was pregnant. My entire motivation was to be the opposite of father and my grandmother (my mother was murdered when o was 9) but my motivations to be better for my children gave me the life I have today. I wouldn’t change a thing! My children made every trauma worth it! I hate to say it but it gave me the drive to make sure no matter what my children never had to experience what I went through

Two amazing human beings right here, the type of men our world desperately needs! My biggest take from Gabor has been that trauma is not only something that happens to you, it can be something that doesn't happen to you; early neglect, rejection and abandonment can have devastating and lifelong consequences, literally affecting the physiology of your brain. But the authentic self is never lost, when you REcover, you reconnect with something that is always there.

I’d argue Theo is a far more interesting conversationalist than JRE. Theo has a humility about him and a sincerity, eagerness to learn and understand that JRE doesnt really delve into. Theo has a very unique perspective that makes him so intriguing. I would agree that he’s benefited from seeing how the JRE pioneered podcasting in a way that was open format and allowed the journey to just be. It doesn’t have to be pigeonholed into any one genre.
