Anyone who volunteers at a shelter can tell you how absolutely affectionate and loving cats are. I had a cat named Bob who loved every single person he met. He was a street cat and when we brought him inside, he won everybody over. Even my friends who "hated cats "ended up, loving Bob. He was impossible to resist or reject.

I found my girl thrown out of a car window , my cat was my best friend .She slept with me every night .When lost at the cottage, she waited there 4 months on a rock jutting out on the lake .She waited for me,she was so loyal and extremely affectionate. She gave me the best 22 yrs ever. I love all animals but when a cat chooses you it's amazing! She died in my arms during covid and hung on til the end. R I P Miss Josephine, P ❤

I adopted two female Persian cats, they were an owner surrender and she gave me them for free. They need daily brushing but otherwise they’re super easy and sweet. One ran under the deck and clawed me in the lip when I dragged her out, but it healed. Since that incident we’ve all had no further problems and they’ve been good cats. Their names are Peaches and Clementine.

Cats are absolutely misunderstood by humans and it makes me really sad. People don't understand how they communicate or their body language, or even their needs really. They communicate in subtle ways and when the human doesn't understand, or even rubs them the wrong way, or taunts them, of course the cat is going to respond negatively because you didn't pay attention and arent listening to it. Like I can't stand when people mess with their cat on purpose, and then wonder why it hates them.

Cats, much like any mammal come with common traits of their own as a whole, but they definitely all have individual personalities. Super shy, super aggressive and everything in between. etc etc We've had incredibly cuddly cats all the way to some that prefer more personal space. Theyre all pretty awesome once they have trust.

I had a calico for 16 yrs. Her brother ran away when I moved; I let him out too soon. It's better I think for them to have another cat around when human is not home. At anyrate we loved each other and had quite the relationship. I live on a busy road but she liked being outside and never crossed or ever got that close to the road. Behind the house was woods and she would hang out there... kill a rabbit every now and then.. eat a mouse then cough it up. Inside she would do her thing but hang out where I was and I could grab her , pick her up , sit holding her close... she loved the head rub. I could hang her upside down holding her legs/torso area against my legs.. not hurting her. We would talk.. get annoyed at each other.. I would forget she was a cat.. 😂

Cats def hold grudges. I got my cat as a kitten and raised her til she was about 1 & a half and then I moved across the country and left her with my mom. I moved back a year later and it’s taken about 4 years for her to start paying attention to me again. She iced me out for so long. But my mom said she’d always sleep on my bed when I was gone.

Ive had both cats & dogs in my life, & I ended up more of a cat person. I appreciate their independence & their discretion. I appreciate that cats are quieter than dogs, some are more vocal than others but no cat has an ear piercing bark. Cats are not as needy as dogs & are quite apt to take care of themselves, & seek you out when they want affection or attention where as a dog will follow you around constantly. To be fair I dont like clingy people either, so maybe that is why I prefer cats. & there is nothing more snuggly than sleeping with a cat that is curled up into a ball, purring.

I've had the world's friendliest, cats, and cats that are just afraid of everything. I've also had cats that were distrustful and could be called mean. My cat is so loving and darling, when I travel for business and come home, she gets the zoomies and will not leave my side. I volunteer at a shelter and so many cats there are desperate for love and poke their paws through their cages desperate for human affection. It blows my mind that people can say a whole species of animal is "mean ".

People just need to learn to observe cats better and respect their boundaries. The boundaries are there because the cat's instinct is for safety, so they need to feel comfortable. They're also very sensitive to touch, that's how their nervous system works. That's why some cats love it and some cats are very ostrożny about being touched in some places. If you respect your cat, you'll have a great friend and cat's love. Cats observe us and learn our behavior very attentively, we should too.

Young cats are kinda crazy from ages 0-5 or so, but get you an older cat and you have a total lovebug companion at that point. My one cat is a big fatty cuddlebug. She gets excited just like our dogs do when my boyfriend comes home. She kills mice and leaves them in the middle of the kitchen for me to take care of. Theyll even inspect your groceries when you bring them home. I even have guinea pigs in a cage with no top and my cats stay out of it and dont bother them at all. Love these little predators so much

I was raised with lots of cats and they're not mean at all. You do have to earn their trust most of the time before they'll become affectionate with you but once they trust you they're very loving. We have six (stray cats problem in the neighborhood so we take them in) and they compete for our affections.

Cats are awesome! I’ve had them my whole life. If you get them when they’re kittens, you can train them to enjoy being held and snuggled. But you do have to respect boundaries. If they’re done snuggling-you’ve got to let them go do their own thing. When they know you respect that boundary for autonomy-they’re more likely to be close to you and snuggle. If you’ve never had a cat-I can see why one might think they’re aloof and not much fun. Most cats really do only like “their people.” They are just calm, soothing little fur babies. They also sense your emotions and try to comfort you when you’re upset.

I have had amazing cats, and have wonderful cats. I have had them train themselves to the toilet, they hang around, are addicted to temptations, cat Crack. I just took in a litter of 3, gave them to my puppy for his 1st birthday, they absolutely love each other. I have an 18 year old guy, a 3 year old boy. I love my new babies very much. I was born a cat lady, but I am married, and don't drink wine. 😂

Im still trying to work cats out. What i have learned is that if youre too eager, they don't like you but if you kinda ignore them byt grab their tail gently as they walk away or like throw them gently on the couch, they always come back purring. A little "treat them, jeep them keen" goes a long long way. Im not talking about hurting them just rough play and dontnover indulge them with attention. Works for me coz they don't like anyone else

Kitty, my childhood cat was the best cat ever and I've never met another cat like her. She would go hiking with us by following us or we would follow her back home, she came when called , she let us carry her like a baby, and even let us touch her young kittens (she was fixed after that). She was an outside cat, but she never left our property. She even would even groom us if we let her. Hands down best cat that ever lived.

My cats know everything. No tricks like you're talking about, but they know what's happening all the time. We have nothing but rescue cats, and they're all inside cats. The entire house is a kitty playhouse. They are also extremely loving and very attached to us. We have 6 right now. We recently had a kitten walk up to our house and joined us. We live in the country where people drop off cats often. We've found good homes for some, and the others have just found their home with us.
