Man, hearing about the Prince jam session stuff.. I remember I went to go see him in 04.. big tour.. I was too young to even like Prince as much as I did lol.. got there super super early.. got to our seats, lights were on.. maybe a couple hundred people in their seats in an NBA arena.. it’s basically empty.. someone comes on stage with a du rag on and just plugs in a baby blue electric guitar.. we were like “hold up.. who is that??”.. they started jamming solo.. and it was like “oh shit! It’s Prince!”.. one by one, members of the band start coming on stage and joining in the jam session.. funkiest shit you’ve ever heard.. all instrumental.. lights stayed on.. and they jammed for like 30 minutes or so and just bounced.. didn’t say anything the whole time.. just put on the coolest private show for the people who showed up super early.. shit was magical.. And then obviously blew the roof off in the actual concert.. like 2 encore sets.. the dude was a monster.. one of my favorite musical memories..
