NOTE: If you can’t find these brands or are in a different country the components you want are an untinted base house paint (base c or d, base 3 or 4 whichever is lowest, deep base or ultra deep base or neutral base) plus a water based polyurethane gloss varnish to make up your Pouring Medium. If you want to try a more traditional pouring medium base because you can’t get certain components, TOTALLY go for it and give it a try 😃 it’s YOUR Art after all! 💜 Also, if you aren’t able to obtain either the US or Australian floetrols, try other options for cell activator like Amsterdam paint & water mixed thin or even silicone , this is your art, have fun with it!! 🤗💜

Is there a List of components here, and I’m just not seeing it?

Oops, sorry. Ignore my first question, I found the list. I wasn’t looking in the right place.

@@apoztr I saw your other comment too that you found it. I used to test a lot on this channel and have tried a variety of different untinted bases and varnishes, check the playlists and my mixing videos also. Also, my latest videos will have what I’m currently using and love in case you are interested but bottom line, they all work, it’s really what works for you, your budget and your art 🤗 have fun!

I've been in the art field for over 40 years (as a painter), and thoroughly enjoy watching AND listening to all that you share and create!! AND what you create...gorgeous!! And once again, those following this method of "painting" are truly blessed to have you in their corner!!! Take care!!! Betty

As a forty plus carpenter, trying to ease my way into woodworking,as my body wears, your videos have motivated me to try this out. This has been the best tutorial I have seen yet for newbies to this art form, it has really helped me so much. I am brand new to this art and have been watching a ton of tutorials and have become very overwhelmed. I was ready to give up because everyone is using different products so I was starting to spend a lot of money trying to get the same products. Your video really eased my mind that I don’t necessarily have to go out and buy the same products but to be aware of the consistency of what you’re mixing up and to be aware there will be some trial and error with using different products. I love the look of cells and lacing but so far I haven’t had any success in creating them, I even used silicone oil too but no cells appeared so I have no idea what I did wrong. I am going to try the CA that you’re teaching here and I hope I have as good as results as you did. Your work is beautiful!!! This newbie thanks you for making this video,, I subscribed to your channel so I will definitely be watching more of your videos.

Great video, I understand it better! One question what is the ratio of floetrol and white for cell activator please. Ty
@ThePaintedDreamer2 жыл бұрын
I’m glad it helped Debby 🤗. The ratio if you are using Australian floetrol is 4:1 (4 parts floetrol, 1 part paint). If using US floetrol see video 16 the mixing video as there are a few other components to go with it. I have tested the US floetrol at a higher ratio and it works pretty well, when it wants to it can be finicky but that’s video 91. Have fun! 💜

Yeesh! Thank you for this. Had to go back to basics today and having re-poured and scraped over and over I thought it best to check out your earlier blooms. Now I know, my colored paints are too thick and my CA is also. BTW, I too suck at tilting - am just a bag of nerves every time! Good job though - it ain't easy at all.
@ThePaintedDreamer2 жыл бұрын
You’re so welcome Lulu I’m so glad it has helped! You do want your paints to flow nicely off the stick and not be gloopy and flop off. There’s a wide range it can be with that so it doesn’t need to be exact but too thick paint can give you issues as well as super thin. I hope that made sense 💜💜

Hi! Curious if I am having crazing in my dry results...do I need to buy GAC 800 or what might else it be? Your a wonderful teacher...thank u so much.
@ThePaintedDreamer2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome Dayna 🤗 crazing or cracking is caused by a few things: paints are too thick, any drafts around your piece or drying too fast from temps/humidity or too much paint left on the canvas. You can try adding some GAC 800 to thin your paints if that’s the issue otherwise some trial and error may need to occur if it’s any of the others. You can also try covering your piece while it dries to slow the drying process down (top layer drying faster than lower layers causing splitting). 💜

Thanks again for the inspiration and for sharing your knowledge. Blessings
@ThePaintedDreamer3 жыл бұрын
Hi Beatriz 😃👋🏻 welcome to my channel and I’m so glad you found me! Yes that freezer paper with the different samples of the untinted base paint dried is really just to show how it is on its own. They all work well as a PM base but some like it clearer than others so I was just showing the difference. It doesn’t really make them any better or worse. It’s really how your colors dry with those bases though as those samples can be deceiving, some bases may have a whiteish cast to it but when mixed with the color or pigment dry absolutely beautiful so I don’t always rely on just those samples I just like to show what they look like as some are interested in that too 🤗💜 I hope this makes sense.

great video!!! Do you mix the cell activator with the paints?
@ThePaintedDreamer2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Lyn, the cell activator stand alone and is the Australian floetrol & paint mixture, then there’s the paints mixed with your PM and then your pillow your base that you put down first, I use house paint straight from the can 😊

Great job explaining everything. I chase the white spots too, and will paint them after the piece is dried with just a drop of paint on a toothpick.

Thanks so much Sherri! Oooh I’ll have to remember that, I haven’t really tried painting the white spots in afterward but good tip!! 💜
