Few words about clips: Oem spring clips are actually good, they come from aerospace industry and they were originally (and still) used on aircraft, they hold tension well in temperature variations, downside is you need many sizes as they only have a few mm of fitment allowance. Now jubilee clips, try to get a good brand and not generic china ones (jcs stainless in the uk or the blue aba ones), tighten them to 3.5Nm with a torque wrench all the way from completely loose; if you check a jubilee clip a few days later with a screwdriver the screw will feel it has loosened up, it has not and you'll be tempted to tighten it more, dont do it. Always tighten them from completely loose, and replace old or unbranded ones. Thanks for the video!
@TheParrottBros3 жыл бұрын
That’s some great advice as always my friend, thank you for that. Like you said the spring clips are the best clip, but would be a nightmare to try and get all the right sizes. The jubilee clips always need to be a good brand as often The cheap ones jump a tooth before they even get tight enough to hold said items. Thanks as always for commenting

Hi, from experience , I have found that a hose that doesn't want to come off, then using a pick , pull it away enough to insert the small red tube from a WD 40 can , then a quick spray, leave it for 5 mins, and usually the hose comes away without struggling.

Nice, thanks for this one. So far the only line I had go was one of the heater matrix pipes (That are wrapped in heat protection) that go into the bulkhead. That was a horrible job to do! Because of the shielding I went for OEM, not sure those lines are even in the kits. Best to check the condition of those while you have the room to reach through - the shielding hides any leaks and cracks. I only realised because the coolant was dripping onto the exhaust manifold and turbo causing no end of smoke when it was warmed up! Nothing more horrifying than smoke from your bonnet haha. They're about 40 quid each from the dealers.

By the way car is fault free at the moment as in no lights on the dashboard. Sent my airbag module away to be reset , lasted a day then the 65535 error came back. Bought a second hand module with the same number and year off ebay for £60 and its been working fine, no codes. Hey John, so I’m the 12 piece kit you only use 9 of the 12 pieces as the kits are made for multiples of different 1.8t platforms. Often companies don’t list them for Tt’s but when you ask they say yes will fit. Xs power would be worth a look but not 100% sure If they do silicone or not

@@TheParrottBros good to hear, people keep telling me to upgrade to the 2.0T coils
@TheParrottBros3 жыл бұрын
@@Level_Up_Nation they are all much the sane now ( when you buy new) I wouldn’t change them until one fails. Then swap out all 4 as the others with fail soon after usually

I'm having leak on my 1.8T and it looks like mine is leaking from the hard line that pushes in the block by the thermostat. Is there a seal in there that can be replaced?
@TheParrottBros2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the model of 1.8t some have a rubber o ring. Some have a rubber coupler

@@TheParrottBros it's a 2000 but build date I believe is late 1999. It looks like it should be an oring, do you happen to know what it's called? And also that k you for taking the time to help. It means alot!

@@jordansluka6288 What what is called, the Oring is just an oring, the metal pipe is called the coolant tube, coolant supply pipe. its quite easy to find the part number online, do you know what engine code yours is? its punched into the head at the front left at the top
