Nope, most don't like using reasoning. They need to learn to think beyond the classroom and books and treat each patient individually. Cases like this helps though because now the doctor will think about her when someone else comes in pleading.
@anniesimone9 күн бұрын
@@CSImeAlthough I do understand what you mean, I think it's less lacking "reasoning", in terms of finding out a patients diagnosis, but sadly, more of a money issue.

You're actually smiling and upbeat. All that you went through was beyond unacceptable when you were trying to find out what was going on with you. Unfortunately, we hear that too often in our healthcare system. I really have lost faith in our doctors. I know there are good ones out there, but I haven't found one yet. You have done so well in spite of everything you've gone through.

Thank you so much! I try really hard to stay upbeat no matter what life throws at me. It's carried me through so much adversity and difficulty. I'm starting to post more on YT (this channel I'm posting from) and will focus on some of those things there. Our healthcare system can definitely be a huge disappointment and failure, but there are also some really great physicians out there - my urology oncologist was amazing at Duke, and my PCP is fantastic - I had to advocate for myself to find them, though. I hope you find one soon too!😍

When I’m really concerned, I find that I act “as if” I’m fine, I’ll even put on makeup and a smile so I’m usually not taken seriously. I’m one of 23 siblings so it’s what was expected growing up and an ensuing coping mechanism. I’ve done this dog and pony show while having a non union fractured femur, a broken neck and an abscess around my esophagus after a puncture that was done during an ACDF. At least I know this about me now and can actually say to a white coat, “this is my coping mechanism and this is what was going on in the past even though I presented and looked ok”. I’m glad you spoke up girl and had someone to speak up for you. We should ALL have an advocate and know it’s important to speak up and ask questions. A Positive outlook/fake it till you make it, isn’t always your friend in our healthcare system. I’m grateful to be here and yes, living for the day like it’s your last is great advice. This isn’t a dress rehearsal!

I try hard to drive more awareness to that fact and inspire others to start living for NOW. Big hug sister!!:)🥰

@GrantJacobs-vt4znI find your reply horrible. Giving a sad, desperate person, whom's sister is terminal ill, false hope that a healer could make the illness go away. It is nothing but cruel doing so. There aren't any healers that could cure terminal cancer. If you got well, you were never terminal ill as you claim, and that makes yr comment even worse.

I can gaurantee you that your thermal injury was caused by the surgeon. The robot arms and cautery are directly controlled by them. I have helped start a robotic program and have been assisting on both general and gynecologic surgeries since 2012 as an RNFA. This was a surgeon error, even though your operative report will never say exactly what happened. He/she screwed up.
@SoniainCyber9 күн бұрын
I know it was, but my surgeon is a fantastic person - human first. For that reason and me signing a release that included this as a possible risk, plus me making a full recovery, I decided not pursue legal action. I feel ok about that decision now, just as I did then.
@roseflower47029 күн бұрын
@ Good for you. Sounds like you’ve made peace with the incident and I’m sure your surgeon will be much more mindful of the location of her instruments.

I know, it's really disheartening. I grew up in Germany so I'm used to the same medical access like you have in Australia. Coming to the United States was a huge adjustment. It's very difficult to navigate and we lose people every day due to lack of proper health coverage or care.😥

Was the energy part have anything to do with anemia ??? Why is fatigue linked to your cancer ?? That's also weight gain issue and thyroid
@SoniainCyber9 күн бұрын
Yes, also nutritional depletion. It varies person to person. There's a few ways kidney cancer (or really any cancer) can lead to fatigue. My thyroid issues were present since my early 20s and I was medicated for it, and my weight had also been there for most of my 30s (I had PCOS too) - so I knew this fatigue was "new" fatigue - it was also a lot more severe than any I had experienced related to weight or thyroid problems. Cancer fatigue is like a whole different league of tired or exhausted.
@elisamartinez38819 күн бұрын
@SoniainCyber thankyou for explaining that, while you didn't have to I appreciate it. I hear in a lot of cancer stories if not all of them that fatigue is usually a really big symptom, and sometimes it's not directly linked to anemia. I'm always curious to know if fatigue is directly linked to cancer and why. Very interesting.
