Thank you for all of your advice, it really got through to me today. I've just been diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer, after battling breast cancer 12 years ago when my son was a toddler. I hope you get another 40 years. The world needs more people like you.

@ Thank you. There are many more cancer survivors these days. My advice for everyone is to get your colonoscopy when you reach that magical age. 40 if you come from a family with a colon cancer history and 45 for everyone else.

Praying for you Jazz and others like you. Lást year we lost my Mil due to cancer, and my eldest a teen hád á cancer scare. Until they got it out we couldn't know if it wás bone cancer. Those were the longest three. Weeks of our lives. She's still receiving rehabilitation but that's cáuse of the pain the tumour wás causing. Indeed álways someone else might be worse off.

Your story is so interesting! My husband had rectal cancer! He passed away at the age of 68! So everything you have gone thru brings back a lot of memories! The first year of treatment, I honestly don’t know how he got thru it! A port was put in, Chemo, a bout with C-diff, radiation, and a colostomy! He hated the colostomy! It metastasized to his lungs about 2 years later! More chemo! Oh forgot to mention they reversed his colostomy at the end of the first year! At the beginning of his 4th year he begin hemorrhaging from the rectom. They ended up doing an ostomy on him the first week he was in the hospital. Second week he developed pneumonia and 3rd week he was diagnosed with encephalopathy. He passed away in that 3rd week. He was the best patient, really never complained! It was a horrible time in our lives! I miss him so much!

Sorry for the loss of your husband. I was diagnosed with stage 3c rectal cancer 5 years ago and so far I’ve done well. Your descriptions of all the things your husband endured brought back memories of my treatments. It reminds me of how fortunate I’ve been. Perhaps it can give you some comfort knowing others with the same disease that your husband had have survived. That he did all the right things for his treatment but unfortunately his cancer wasn’t able to be beaten. I can tell you were a wonderful partner to him.

You brave people….huge group hug!! I’m 60 now and I’m happy to say, as of now, I have no concerns at this time. Although, 3 weeks ago, I wiped and I always check. And this time, there was a lot of bright red blood. It was alarming to see, but that’s all there was. I’ve had trouble back there before, but I always heal quickly. The very idea of getting one of those checkups is scarier than the cancer itself! Can’t wait to be done with all the garbage in the world today……..can’t wait to meet Jesus Christ!! I’m getting ready!🥰

When you say you were going to the bathroom all the time, were you actually GOING or were you constantly TRYING to go and nothing was happening? Sorry for asking you such a personal question but I am really interested and curious.
@roch145
@roch145 2 ай бұрын
I was diagnosed with rectal cancer 5 years ago. I had to go to the bathroom frequently as well. It wasn’t just a sense of needing to go. I defecated reach time. At times it was like diarrhea. Other times it was long thin stools. This is because the tumor had grown so large it was blocking the flow (not completely) of stool. I also had a few cases of bloody stool which I thought was due to hemorrhoids (which I knew I had). So I was justifying the symptoms rather than acting on them.
