Okay guys I wanna make something clear because I think it got lost in translation. When I said ‘holy macaroni’, which is an expression of delight and shock, similar to expression like ‘holy moly’ or ‘holy cow’ or ‘holy mackerel’ which we frequently use here in the UK, I never ever said ‘Italians are macaroni’ because firstly, that doesn’t make sense, why would I call someone a pasta? And secondly, I’m not making fun of Italians, I was expressing delight and shock at how good the performance was that it made me cry! If the Italian subtitles are incorrect and it says ‘Italians are macaroni’ please let me know and I’ll change it to the correct translation. Thanks 🙏

You can’t see because of the low quality of the video, but even Damiano cried during the performance, this is the most profound song of maneskin and means the world to Damiano. The orchestra amplified the emotional intensity of this masterpiece. I cried too.

He posted on his Instagram page a story thanking all (the band, the San remo’s orchestra and production, friends ecc) because this song means almost everything about Maneskin’s musicology and the lyric was written by Damiano based on a true story….the Sam Remo Festival here in Italy is the first grand prize they won after X Factor and for Italian people is just like Emmy in USA…I think his tears are full of happiness and sadness in the same time Great performance, probably the best live performance of these incredible young guys 💜

As I see it, their coming to the front and stopping playing symbolizes their paying respect to Coraline, who at that point has already lost her baby and, according to the most common interpretation, is about to take her own life. The powerful drumming and the guitar riffs represent her struggles and her “savior”’s attempts to save her. But nothing worked out, it’s over, and alas!, the instruments have nothing more to say. Only the strings, with their heavenly flavor, are metaphorically accompanying Coraline in her last journey, anticipating the much sought-after peace she’ll find once inside the tall walls of the Castle. It’s a sort of de profundis.

An outrageous example of their ability and professionalism is from 2:50 when Vic's bass should be audible in the pre-chorus and then the drop in the chorus - the engineers have missed it but Damiano continues without flinching - and when they turn it on and Vic explodes in on 3:08 Damiano turns to her with a little 'ciao baby, welcome back, i missed you'

Now, a thing: as soon as "Teatro d'Ira Vol.I" was released I immediately thought: "It would be so nice having them perform "Coraline" as super guests. They will also have the live Orchestra". Finding out, surprisingly enough since it's not been released as a single, that they were going to do exactly that was a great feeling 😊 Apart from a mistake by the sound engineers (bless them anyway 💐) who didn't open Victoria's bass at the right moment but quite late during the first chorus, this was a fantastic and full of emotions performance ✨ Sweet Damiano couldn't help but crying near the end and right after. Beautiful. Ps: 5:40 I laughed way too loud here 😂😂

Also this year the Måneskin have dominated on the prestigious stage of Sanremo, the power of a song like Coraline, with a crazy lyrics, with a wonderful music has been further embellished by the orchestral arrangement of maestro Enrico Melozzi. At this point the game is done, the emotion was very strong for Damiano. The fact of going back to where it all started, the fact that the artistic director Amadeus was the first to believe in them when at the end of 2020 Sony Italy proposed these 4 wonderful guys, still immature, with a song outside the box of a festival of the song that has more than 70 years of tradition. The text then has a power equal to an atomic bomb. We speak of Love with a capital letter, the real one, the one that goes beyond the carnal relationship that can exist between 2 people, the sincere and boundless one, the one where the pains of one pass to the other. All in one language, Italian, which has a thousand shades to describe love and feelings and where the simple translation into other languages does not completely convey the meaning of the thought of what Damiano wanted to communicate to us. Thank you all for believing in these guys

Ill only say two things...first, watching and hearing the emotions of D during this performance was...kind of shocking Id say...I just thought at least the band would be able to hold themselves, but it just shows how powerful the performance and this song are...second, this song falls right into the category of songs that well...they can make you cry even if you dont understand the lyrics...and if you sing along and cry because of all the emotion...it has a soul cleansing property of sorts...because at least for me, after such songs I just feel cleansed from within...it releases some pent up energy you might not even be aware of.

Ciao Rachel!During the last few years in Italy talents mainly linked to other musical genres have been born. This is a fact, but that doesn't mean nothing else was born. In fact, Måneskin can be considered - in the best sense of the term - an anomaly compared to the musical panorama of recent years. They seem to be shaped by the seventies, they are charismatic, eclectic and their latest works have literally climbed the charts.
