This was a great video! I also like how, at the end, you mention the benefits of both ways of staying in Mexico -- at a resort, or to be more independent in where you stay, where to eat, and how to tour other places. I hope to see more of your videos!

isn't this in the rainy season? And are you able to go to the beaches in July/August or is it to cloudy/rainy the whole day? Or are day some hours where you can swim and it isn't raining during July/August?

You can wear life jackets for both. I recommend it as well, for safety regardless. Whale sharks move quickly and it gets very tiring in the water, and for the Cenotes, they put a life preserver on us right at the beginning of our tour.

I'm going in February so I'm not swimming with whale sharks. It seems cool but they said it's a 2 hour boat ride out and I've seen in other videos that they were constantly getting in and out of the boat because they swim so fast. It sounds sooo exhausting. I wouldn't do this. But I think for most other activities you would be fine with a life vest. I do want to swim with whale sharks one day but I'm hoping to do that in the Philippines one day. I think there are more opportunities to see them there.

@@ThePlanetD Welcome. There is one more attraction in Playa del Carmen. Not official. We were transferred from Riu Lupita to the beach by shuttle, running through the idyllic residential area. Worth seeing it.

That's not entirely true about the all-inclusive segment, about you being just secluded to your resort. I have gone there several times and only have done all inclusive and have going on many excursions and I've gone to many of the local places to shop and it is so much fun. And even though we have all-inclusive where food and drinks are included we have ventured out to other places in the city to eat and drink. I think I'll inclusive is the only way to really get more bang for your buck. But that's just my opinion. Thank you for this video is very informative and we will be using these tips come next April.
