Content like this is truly invaluable because there's so little of it outside of your material. This kind of detailed math and study does build intuition when under time pressure at tables. In the ten years of on and off play I've spent on this game, I've never really had the discipline prior to now to learn the #'s that I knew would help me but would take a bit of time and energy to understand.

Great video, Splitsuit! I'll take the time to be more aware of my opponents' folding frequencies when I play next and leverage any disparate differences between their open-raising range and their continuing range against various 3bet sizes. My only question is, if they're willing to continue with a very wide range, is it worth it to 3bet bluff in the first place? I think no, but I'd like to hear your thoughts

I know this is not really a question about this video but for your videos on playing 1/2 live. if the buy in for your game was 400$ instead of 200$, would it have changedhow you played at all. My game is 1/2 with a 400cap, people always raise around 10-15$. I was wondering would you just try to play the game like a 2/4 game or just always still open for 3x?

Only players you are playing against impact your decisions, not stakes.

@overbe yea but I am dumb and don't know how to make that decision

It's not uncommon for me to still try using 3x as an open size, even if the table is using a 5-8x standard. Sometimes it actually encourages others to size closer to 3x too, which I'm fine with. As for the overall question, yes, extra depth with an edge is gold =)

Every time I hear “that’s prevented the opponent to bet everything” I just laugh. Like a player will 3bet every two cards in a real game and win. My two years old niece will exploit that strategy. All these videos should be how to exploit nits who only value bet and people who call to much but don’t 3bet all that much

That's how live poker is

Maybe that would work if all your opponents were robots using those card ranges.

are you suggesting that it is not worth studying the problem at all since we don't know anyone's exact range? . . . . you can use the same techniques against various ranges and try to tune it in against the players you see regularly. the formulas remain the same. and we live in a time (for online poker anyway) where a good portion of the pool is indeed trying to mimic those ranges.
