now i understand why there have been some rumblings going on in the direction of animated shows using text to speech programs. and it's because of the writers and actors strike, they are bringing automation in to take their jobs and there is a huge demand for it too. just like the people who did a strike for $15 hr for working at MacDonald's, they are being replaced by automation through robotics the more they bitch and moan. the same thing will happen to this industry the more picky people become and the more money they want out of the deal.

@@rschaarman you know they did the same teaser for the promotion of Atlantis before it became a full on fledged show? of course they made the audience believe that Atlantis was under our sea's on earth somewhere in the pacific ocean deep in the water, i almost wish they did that instead of in another galaxy, but at the same time, they really needed another bad guy to worry about, so the other galaxy made sense in the story. but i also kind of wanted them to do a show with the city under the water, but instead the city became a boat, there is probably so much more things in the Pegasus galaxy that they never took the time to truly investigate the planet because of all the internal conflicts of the galaxy, but i have the idea that world had a lot more secrets than they offered in the show.

I know that on the surface this may not seem like good news, but and I am sorry I didn't clarify this enough in the video, this is the first time since Universe went off the air that "Official" Stargate had been given the green light. That's huge for Stargate because it means Amazon really wants to make it and to be honest, we weren't 100% sure of that before this. There is also info about what type of Stargate show they want to do as well as who might be participating. I get it no one likes 16 minute videos anymore, but if you watch the whole thing we hope it is worth your while!

I would love to see a SG1 / Atlantis based sequel. These shows had it all, including a great dose of humour which blended the characters together. The groundhog based episode in SG1 is still one my favourites. My father and I used to love watching these shows, and now my daughter and I have watched them together. Having Amanda Tapping behind the scenes would ensure that the same continuity would flow into brand new adventures.

Joe M has a better chance of doing this right, Dark Matter showed he cares about character development more than brad. Do you want a producer, or a writer in charge? IF this was given to Joe, I think it stands a chance for one reason, it will be initially built on the "OS" fandom" and sorry SGU fans, you have 15 seasons of "less serious" SG fans to contend with here. The Destiny crew deserve thier ending, no doubt, but it is the most mathematically failed venture into the Stargate "Universe" I want more SG, I also want more Farscape, and Babylon 5, and Lexx. but I don't want them for the sake of doing them, i want them to be true to the idea and ideals of each show.

It would be funny.. if they kept SG-1 covert since they acknowledge it after the Wraith Attack.. but the hidden City of Atlantis beneath the bay.. deactivated and Overrode the Cheyenne Mountain gate.. They let the investigations blow over after a few years.. and then re-activated the program after the City left.. possibly re-crewed with a full compliment of International personnel. Plausible deniability firmly in place.. the new SG-1 team is charged with 'semi-normal' operations on Earths behalf.. but now the seat of a powerful nascent federation. It would be ironic if visiting ambassadors and dignitaries wanted 'normal' relations with the peoples of the T'auri .. but the Countries of Earth kept denying the Existence of Aliens to protect their various Cultures self determination and Political agendas. Reluctantly the SG-1 teams become the protectors and champions of an indifferent and apathetic if totally disinterested Public.. who would rather focus on online streaming programs.. and merely tolerated occasional alien interactions.

@Eva_H i agree with you here, but unfortunately most people wouldn't be all for a continuing SGU show, they would likely accept a ending that is favorable for all factions, like an actual rescuing of the crew. i wrote a fan fiction once that involved the lore of the series to make it happen, but there were some large sacrifices that the crew had to make in order to survive that was possible through the existing lore. but it is kind of a happy ending and it's done in less time than every other idea most other people have come up with so far.

The first half of the second season was great, then I stopped watching halfway through because of what happened with MGM, I guess I felt somewhat disheartened at that point at like 24 at the time. I very much have the attitude of why should I invest the rest of my time with the shows getting cancelled anyway, and then the production staff got slapped in the face, because they really didn’t have time to give the show an ending, and it was just gonna end on a fucking cliffhanger, I hate it when shows do that. I was too young to actually come up with a plot in my mind when the franchise rolled to a halt.. but now.. with respect.. and due thought. I see each of the shows as an Ensemble story pivoting on different aspects of what they are best at. SG-1 is and always was the loan wolf series pushing the edge outwards into the new frontier.. that dovetails nicely with Destiny.. except Destiny had and still has a mission to complete.. which the Ancients thought important enough to devote a large portion of their civilizations resources. Atlantis was an outpost, established as a backup, not unlike Earth becoming multi-planetary or the Alpha Site in SG-1. The thing that linked them together was the discovery of the Raiders of the Ancients cache of technology and the status quo of the Galaxy as they found it. SG-1 has evolved beyond Space Travel, into Time Travel and Reality Travel.. not so much Multiverse.. but there is a cryptic puzzle emerging in their interactions with the Ancients.. one that probably leads to the reason for the existence of the Destiny.. and that could threaten the existence of even Atlantis even if it were galaxies away. The Universe is the 'universe' regadless of multiple possible timelines.. it encompasses them all.. a Multiverse is mere nonsense.. there is no outside.. but. How that Universe evolves and whether there are things that could wipe it clean, or no longer support life.. as we currently worry about Stars going Red Giant.. could be a threat.. we are only just beginning to understand.. and Destiny may have been on a mission to understand the habitable zone of our portion of the Cosmos.. and a warning.. seemingly .. written in the Stars themselves.

@@joey_after_midnight you got a totally different understanding of what i got from SGU and the destiny's mission, i think like you that research was about investigation, but i believe they eventually found that information through out the many millennia that the destiny traveled. in SGU, they came across some kind of lifeform that had the capability to create entire worlds and solar systems, and i believe this lifeform was related to their ultimate goals of Ascension. most people think that the destiny contains all of this knowledge just by itself, and i'm sure it does, but there is also plenty of evidence that the Alterna's had a way to tap into that information within the milky galaxy all these millennia later, if you remember the pilot episode of Atlantis when Sheppard sits in the ancient chair, and Rodney asks sheared to think of our galaxy and the chair suddenly displays our galaxy map, it's my theory and also based off of the lore of the series that every gate functions as a connection to each other through subspace connections, they are always transmitting information within the stargate network, they function almost like cell towers that are linked but they all communicate together as a linked connection to transmit data. i'm willing to bet with this understanding that the destiny was serving as an automated conduit to pass on collected data about the microwave background radiation left behind by this lifeforce while it traveled this route while also testing each and every location stargate along the path, this information was being sent back to their various outpost locations, and i personally believe the information was being directly fed to these outposts via the gate network in each and every galaxy they existed in. it's also my theory this same connection is what the communication stone network uses to piggyback the distance to make the connection to the other user, but the Ori galaxy they used that platform for the stones to connect, so there was no need for the gate connection in that case, but it uses the same frequency network to send a persons mind across these vast distances. anyway we know the Alterans were trying to investigate this lifeform and they were also researching Ascension near the end of their Empires life, in which they finally achieved, but i'm willing to bet this lifeform that the destiny was investigating was in relation to their research into ascension in one way or another, we know as an ascended being they have the capability to control the forces of the weather on a planet, they can create storms and lightning and other forces of nature, but they chose not to use their powers in this way for the most part, but i'm sure the Ori used these powers we just never saw it because they stayed in their isolated part of their Galaxy while they sent out their foot solders and their priors to spread Origin. now i believe the Ascended beings had the capability of creating worlds, but because the "OTHERS" who chose not to use their collective powers this way, they pretty much kept the others within the ascended realm from using their powers in such ways, i believe they have a governing system of popular vote, so if the majority are restrictive in how you use these powers, you end up having to fold to the rules of the majority, like a democracy that's gone the route of Totalitarianism, at least that's what i could gather from the "OTHERS" lol. like they believed in freedom of will, but at the same time, they also believed they were the only governing body and belief system and if you ever strayed away from that path of thinking, you were their enemy as there was no room for opposition in their eyes, which is why they didn't like Oma, Merlin, Orlin, Morgan helping the lower planes at all costs. i have my own theory about the deal with Anubis and how they possibly conspired to allow him to trick her into ascending him so she could stop helping the lower planes like she kept doing, they didn't like how she would keep breaking their rules, but instead of descending her from their ranks, they gave her a roadblock by making Anubis her responsibility to baby sit and a list of rules he had to abide by if he didn't fold to their demands. the sad thing is their rules served as ignorance as they were almost destroyed by the Ori, if it wasn't for the people Oma helped on their path to further advance themselves to the point where they were at least advanced enough and strong enough to fight against the Ori, this could have ended far worse if Oma, Orlin, Merlin, Morgan never helped them in the first place. anyway this post was way longer than i planned lol, sorry old habits die hard when talking about a universe and it's stories i love to talk about.

@@joey_after_midnight the Alteran abandoned the Destiny's mission according to the lore, but they knew it was fully automated and it could forward information across the stars through their gate network system, they were probably getting that data and it's all collected within their system, it's all probably within Atlantis within the control chair, their chair that allowed the pilot the ability to access that information with their mind. you remember that scene in the pilot episode when mackay tells Shepperd to picture our galaxy, and suddenly all that information is displayed right before their eyes? well that's because that chair was a data center outpost that was looking at real time data of the galaxy through the stargate network, i'm willing to bet they have all that information right under their noses of this network and all stargate networks this whole time and they just didn't know how to look for it. i also believe the stargate network is what makes the communication stones work, the Ori may not have had a stargate prior to danial and vala showing up, but that tech the stones worked through existed as a network that could make that connection possible.

The Atlantis Gate below the San Francisco Bay .. is of course the Override Gate now for all of Earth, and a fully functional Inter-Galactic Gate... although the Destiny is the only current 'destination' of interest since Lantea no longer has a gate. With the City's shield now fully functional and the events of the Wraith attack fresh in everyones minds. The International community will at least have to hold Public hearings acknowledging the uptick in UAP phenomena if not come clean about the Existence of aliens and the "former" Stargate program.. which sadly is now dormant because of Atlantis.. but they don't have to tell the Public that. Using an Ori Supergate still makes the most sense to bring Destiny home.. but it was sent because the Ancients found a reason greater than mere curiosity before the Plague to begin the Destiny program. The Dance floor is set, the Band is paid.. the chess pieces rearranged.. but all of their stories is.. far from over.

@user-tp5yb4hr4w 11 ай бұрын
the Ori supergate isn't capable of going that far, it's only galaxies that are next to each other, i doubt very much it will go 49 galaxy's to the destiny. they may be able to keep it open forever by linking it to a black hole, but it's not going to take them to 49 galaxies away, and the dead space's in between those galaxies magically to the destiny. sadly, you would be faster taking a puddle jumper along that route through each gate from one end of the galaxy to the end of the galaxy and then having to create another super gate on both sides of each and every galaxy wide gap. according to the lore, the Ori galaxy was right next to ours, but at the time they left their home galaxy, their technology was not as advanced, they were traveling in a ship that predates the tech on the Destiny by 2,000 years, but most of these years were spent in cryo sleep while their ship made the trip to the milky way galaxy, when they finally established their new home on Dakara, they started focusing on the stargate idea that Arnilius was working on when they were in their home galaxy as he was unable to work on that idea for 2,000 years until they all arrived on Dakara to start their new civilization. the reason why the Ori didn't go after them back then was because they were not ascended at this time and most of the people served the religion and didn't think it was in their best interest to go after them, so they remained within their own neck of the galaxy until present day, which was a good 40 million years later according to the lore, 10 million of their history was within their home galaxy. anyway the reason why i'm putting this info down, is so we could understand the scope of the supergate and it's capabilities and limitations, it was only meant to make the connection to a nearby galaxy, which was their home galaxy, i doubt very much it could gate to the destiny being 49 galaxy's and the empty space between galaxies which is most often far larger than each and every galaxy to reach. now with that said, it could be possible, but it would be easier to dial that kind of connection through a smaller gate that was connected to a blackhole as it has to do with power as much as it had to do with a code to reach the Destiny and a blown up star to extract the right amount of power to make the connection, but once on the other side, the other gate would probably blow up if the connection isn't severed within enough time, this is why the gates had the 38 minute window, because it was a failsafe feature to keep the gate running cool enough and to also prevent possible issues of it overheating, which is probably why the older gates had that cool down mist that blew every time the gate shut down to keep it cooled down, the reason why the super gates don't have this issue is because they are in exposed space which is in below zero temps at all times, so the gate could stay on forever so long as there is enough power on both sides of the wormhole to maintain that connection.

Eli Wallace could have followed Dr. Franklin into the Interface chair and been saved by the knowledge he gained from that.. I always thought Franklin not vaporized as much as "enhanced" and wandering the ship somewhere else... a half-human, half-ancient hybrid by now. Ayanna also did not communicate verbally.. the chair may have been repairing his brain to function more like the Ancients shortly before they left Earth as in 'Stargate Atlantis - Rising', after that event Ayanna was buried in ice until the SG-1 team found her. We know other Epochs of Ancients did speak, but later versions may have given that up in exchange for other mental enhancements. Jack slowly lost the ability to speak in "The Lost City 1 & 2". David Blue would need prosthetics or time to resolve his "look" to be more like that we are familiar.. or they would need cgi de-aging, re-imaging technology for the brief scenes to get the story back on track. An Animated version for the SGU storyline somewhat like the B5 or Rhirrmm movies might suit SG-U better since its hard to bring the entire cast back, and make them all look like little time has passed.

David Blue's character can easily be put into a new SGU show. There is so much there to work with including him dropping all the weight.
@badwolf1984
@badwolf1984 11 ай бұрын
its easy to explain the weight loss, he fixed the life support, he exercised to starve off the boredom running around the ship. they could cgi this into a webisode.

It would be ironic.. if the issue with David Blue.. is they wanted him to put some more weight on, just for the first few episodes of a re-start, or a streaming movie. It might not even be David's fault since he may not have enough time. Of course there are prosthetics and make-up .. but that too might be issue. It might be easier to delay revisiting the Destiny at this time... or depend on scripts not yet written.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the Actor (David Blue's) current appearance, and where they want to start the reboot. The Atlantis presence on Earth is a clear technological conflict with the Cheyenne Mountain gate.. its not even resolved or clarified on SG-U.. and they didn't use Atlantis to dial Destiny outright.. so maybe they don't have the power.. or do not want to risk Earth in the beginning. Once they deal with Atlantis.. and possibly get it off Earth.. and the Cheyenne complex is reactivated.. they can deal with the Aftermath of why Atlantis had to leave.. and maybe take the risk to Dial Destiny direct from a far flung Atlantis, at least one time. - Would ELI take or accept the 'Ascention Chair' as a way out from his previous predicament? The Destiny's computer core is vast.. but what if ELI became a persona within the Ship itself.. and is that Life? or how would he deal with that.. did ELI really die.. and he is something else entirely? The first few episodes we would want him to look as much as he could as before.. but then of course he could change. The Star Makers.. returned the Destiny shuttle better than new.. but couldn't restore people to life.. would ELI learn from that and eve try? And what of the Novans? Far more advanced than their Ancestors.. could they offer ELI a second chance? Will Novans join their Ancestors on Destiny's mission... whatever that truly is..

Stargate SG-1/Stargate Atlantis were two of my all-time favorite SF TV series. That being said, after their finish, I was able to move on to other things--sadly no other SF series--because they all went to S***. I just don't want a revival of Stargate, and I wish more fans could stop living in the past. And now, with Amazon producing it, considering their abysmal record with The Rings of Power, I definitely do not want any sequel to come about. Think about this: if they finally bring it back and it's total s**t, then how are you gonna feel? As Rick said to Ilsa in Casablanca, "We'll always have DVDs."

that would actually be really nice to see, because there are parts of their history that we know almost nothing about because we only know their beginning and their ending of their civilization. there is a whole lot of in between history that we know most nothing about, so there could be conflicts and stuff that happened that is still connected to the overall story. what's weird is most people never think of their history from this perspective, they for some reason assume merlin existed in the Ori galaxy and in the milky way and also on Atlantis and in the ascended realm, from the day he was born to the day he dies, when their life span wasn't that much longer than our own, however merlin's was extended a bit because he used to be ascended and he descended himself so he could persu his research away from the prying eyes of the ascended others, then he was preserved through a stasis pod.
