So the big thing about Kaiserreich Germany from a well experienced player, sending volunteers to people who will eventually be on your side and winning their wars really helps, and most of the time those volunteers should be tanks. For example making sure that the kingdom of Spain wins so France has another angle to hold, making sure Bulgaria wins so Romania isn’t as powerful, and sending volunteers to Yellow China and the Qing so they can fight off Japan better. Also if you have a ton of free research rushing better fighters as soon as you can is crucial. You are right a lot of balance changes have made Germany much harder, tanks are kind of crucial against Russia so you can encircle a ton of divisions and actually push, and day one collabs on Russia aren’t the worst idea imo. Sorry for a wall of text but I love this mod. Also if you’d like play a game as the Mingan insurgency it’s the best Hoi experience I’ve ever had

The funny part of playing Germany is letting everyone align against you and then steamroll them... If you start helping out everyone, you win the war in few weeks. Turn battle plan on and win is not exactly fun.

I agree with you. About 1-2 months ago Russia was not very strong but recently I played and felt Russia was absurdly strong. Even though Germany destroys France, it still cannot do anything to Russia. Even if the German army concentrated all its strength, the Russian army would still be slowly pushed back. This surprised me. I played Austria and gathered many medium tank divisions, but breaking the Russian formation was still very difficult.

Agree with all of this, except maybe helping Bulgari since last time I did that they ended up joining the Moscow Accord, the bastards. Also, send some volunteers to Argentina and the American Union State. Delay the war as long as you can so you can properly recover from Black Monday. Focus on one enemy at a time. Have a block of infantry facing the Russians and your best divisions facing the French. Take out France > Italy > Britain > the Balkan nations > Russia, in that order. Most of all, SLOW THE DAMN GAME DOWN, Alex. You were getting overwhelmed since you were playing at 5 speed the whole time.

It's definitly a little frustrating that he's constantly complaining about feeling rushed and overwhelmed by things, but never pauses or takes the game off five speed. It's honestly making the videos a lot less fun to watch than they used to be. He's constantly screaming 'please stop' at the screen but never once thinks to hit spacebar and make the game actually stop.

@@snaiper195 once you get to a certain skill level, you don't lose in HOI4 singleplayer plus ISP does lose sometimes, especially in achievement runs, he restarts a lot

@@bighillraft I have over 1K in HOI4 and know nothing about META for this exact reason , I do not choose my actions because they are more effective I choose them because it would make sense for people I play as. I never restart or reload because its not fun , however it is fun to try to rebuild your country after its destruction.

I rarely play anything HOI4 that isnt this mod, and in this mod i rarely play anything that is t the international, but from what experience i have playing Germany, it seems to me that it is absolutely crucial to send volunteers to at least China, Argentina, Spain, and Bulgaria, because losing even one of those wars early game has huge negative consequences later in the game

You had somewhat of a bad luck, as fighting the war before mid to late 39' as Germany is EXTREMELY hard, because you just finished your recovery and you still lack output. You also need to help other nations that will join the reichspakt (Ottomans, Bulgaria, South Italy and Northeast Italy, Monarchist(NOT CARLIST) Spain, Argentina...), because they will help you and them being strong and winning their wars makes your opponents weaker. It's a lot of micro-volunteers, but still manageable as wars are not all at the same time.

Alex is making the fatal flaw of expecting the AI to be anything more than useless. All the AI is capable of doing is posting 100 divisions on a front line they could push with 40 then proceeding to do nothing with them even if they get invaded from a different direction

In fairness, the AI is playing better than him this game. I mean, sure all they can do is make garbage divisions and post them to a front and then battleplan. But they would at least assign all their divisions to some front lines and use their factories.

This was weird to watch. Not counting the allied AI being stupid, you seem to have been doing things...*fine*, and it's as if the AI has been boosted in the game rules. And yet you struggled a lot, particularly with Russia But yeah the British AI is extremely aggressive with naval invasions. I remember bailing out Germany a few times when I played Ukraine recently Game tip: if the AI keeps spamming you with lend lease offers, check your logistics tab and see if you're missing something. Useful to see for me sometimes if it turns out that I'm missing AA or artillery and stuff (if you don't look at the production tab for too long)

British ai can be as aggressive as they want: put the fleet on strike force on all your coastline and watch the brits naval invade the entente instead because they can't get naval superiority ever.

i totally agree with you when it comes to the British AI. You can kill waves after waves after waves. Sometimes whole armies of them, thinking: HOW CAN YOU STILL DO THIS? and They bound to have nothing left on the home islands now that i naval invade em back. AI: lol nope *turns out it got like 10 divisions sitting on every damn coastal tile with additional reinforcements at the ready in the unlikely event you land*

Kaiserreich isnt the mod for you mostly because the amount of micro and fronts you have to manage as Germany can be quite frustrating and challenging.

The "germany didn't have tanks" is a little misleading, Germany didn't have a lot of there own tanks but they captured a bunch of them cause it was easier, mostly captured British mk1-5s but some French tanks also
