Most people are "fake" rich. It's a sad reality.
@1ButtonDash
@1ButtonDash 6 ай бұрын
People spend money out of their living range. Credit cards enable people to be fake rich. If credit wasn't a thing you would see many more people living how they should be living. This would be lives less luxurious with less material goods and lower quality meals but removing the stress of debt and money you owe is a good sacrifice. Being debt free is a huge weight off people's shoulders.

Facts 💯 at my job where I work at in a retail place. I see a alot of customers signing their life oway, from listing contracts, their percentage is so high, if the person don't pay it on time, the company is making that money.
@rich5164
@rich5164 6 ай бұрын
I think saying “most” people are fake rich is a coping mechanism. People say say that because it gives them reassurance they aren’t alone being broke. There’s a lot of money out there. A lot of generational wealth and high incomes in major cities. I felt like everyone was pretending when I moved to a wealthy suburb but I discovered “most” of these people are actually loaded, come from wealthy families, have double six figure incomes, regular blue collar jobs with high salaries. Even nurses now a days, which only requires a bachelors are getting paid 200k. Sure there are still people out there faking it but everyone needs to stop comparing themselves and just do whatever it takes and come up with a plan so they aren’t dying on the Walmart floor as a greeter when they are 80 years old.
@benjaminw309

This woman is annoying. She thought she could quit her job after she married this guy? She obviously thought he had plenty of money while dating him. Was she afraid to ask him about the finances while they were dating--out of concerns he would assume she’s a gold-digger? She is a gold-digger. She is 45, not a 30 year old who wants to get pregnant and be a stay-at-home mom ( the reason why a reasonable woman would ask if it’s okay to quit and make do with one income while raising family). This caller’s plan backfired on her- thought she could sit at home, eat bom boms all day!

They have tenants in the $300,000 house. I think they have to wait until the lease is up to make them move out. That could be up to a year. I would want my husband to sell both houses and we move into an apartment. Buy another house together once out of debt. Plus there is the matter of the added loan that she is not sure which house it’s on. I wonder what he did with that loan money? If he blew it all I would get a divorce or better yet an annulment.

She's not a gold digger. She married him without knowing. The fact she asked if she could quit her job, totally clueless about how much trouble he was in tells me he made a conscious effort to conceal his financial issues until she married him and took out a second mortgage she's now responsible for. That's calculated, deceptive, and predatory. One of the beautiful things about marriage is two people dividing up life's responsibilities so there's still hours left in the day to relax and enjoy each other's company. When both are in the workforce all day they come home and still have to deal with all the domestic stuff/errands/bills/cleaning/laundry and so forth, and the weekends are taken up by everything that didn't get done. When one person stays home to take care of all that during working hours both get to enjoy the night and weekends and relax/live a little. It's something humans figured out a long time ago that works quite nicely when both parties are sincere and good to one another.

He would've had some fancy way of evading a complete picture until he had her locked down and financially liable for his mess. He knew about all of this the entire time and kept that from her while presenting himself as doing well in that area. I seriously doubt he had any sincere intention of this marriage lasting, you know your partner is going to feel wildly betrayed that you kept that from them until after the fact. Any time I'm feeling stupid about a financial situation that I was in, I listen to these podcasts and that feeling quickly goes away. Her not wanting to work after getting married was a big red flag. Look ma, my meal ticket has arrived. Jokes on you, lady!

“The level of denial and deception” needs to be dealt with…He’s obviously still grieving his deceased wife…and he’s, indeed, a financial train wreck and should do better by his new wife…but she definitely shouldn’t act surprised at this point…that’s wild…I’m hopeful they can iron everything out from this point on…

Maybe they should have the marriage annulled if still within the deadline. Both if them are together for the wrong reasons, and I'm not entirely sure going by the snippet here, that love and mutual respect was part of the package. Remember the man's deceased wife as only been dead two years at the time of this phone in. Both married under clouds of illustration - she wanted to be taken care of, he wanted someone to co-sign loan and more CC documents, and maybe clear his debts.

🤣 They're perfect for each other. She thought she was marrying her retirement plan and he thought he was marrying a sucker... but clearly he's the bad guy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ This isn't complicated. You sell everything but one car and I'll disagree with Dave because you owe less on the rental, so turn it into your main house. Clearly, none of this is actually going to happen, but it's what should happen.

You can’t forcefully turn a rental into your main house until your tenants’ lease expires. That could take a month. That could take a year. However, you can sell a property that has tenants in it and it’s the new owners problem to honor the lease. Also if she is a community property state she is better off working to pay off the house that was purchased during the marriage than the one purchased before they wed.

I love how the recommendation is to just “sell the house”. Tell me, is anyone buying houses at these prices and interest rates? This isn’t something where you just “sell the house” in 2 weeks and you get your money back. That process could literally take months to over a year based on the current housing market haha.

Yes, you can sell your house in two week when you are broke like them. The question is in what price. When you are broke, you have no choice, no freedom. You got to do what you have to.

@@xingli4139😂 I understand that part. They’d have to sell their house at a pretty drastic loss. I just find that funny when people bite off more than they can chew with real estate and then expect it to be some magical passive income. That comes in time.

There are companies begging to buy houses. What they will pay is a different story

There's a reason she didnt ask him before marriage considering she wanted to retire at age 45. She didnt want to look like a gold digger, which she is. Got married to someone who peacocks using CC and then decides 9 months later she just wants to kick back and do nothing at home. Luckily she just picked the wrong guy and didnt get to freeload off another dude. Let's be real, she's divorcing him and is going to try to hook a different guy do she can retire.
