You are still playing with your trucks and your video games and your other toys, when you should have become a MAN a long time ago.

Being 54 with our first million in the bank and no debt enables us to travel across the country and share experiences together. In debt up to their eyeballs doing the very things FPU tries to eliminate from their lives, and he wants an $8000 lift kit on his truck on a credit card. The first step is understanding the difference between a need and a want. I bet they spend money every month on cable tv, Starbucks coffee, lottery tickets, alcohol, and tobacco too.

I have met people who tried to do exactly what this lady's husband was about to do. A coworker bought $35k boat, thinking he could refinance his house for it. Real estate had dropped that year, so there was no refinance. He had damaged his boat severely by trying to launch and load it by himself. So he tried to return it to the dealer, and parked it in their lot. The dealer had it towed. He tried bankruptcy. That was a no go because of the short time frame and his house had to be included. What a mess. He lost everything.

I thought their excuse for getting credit cards was to try to build their credit so they can get a house in 2 - 3 years. How will they qualify for a mortgage if the husband plans to file bankruptcy? I could see them weakening and borrowing SOME money for something unexpected, like a vehicle repair to keep the thing running, but a lift kit falls under the “unnecessary accessory” category.

@@ThePeterDislikeShow huh? No very much a gun person. The point is 95% of people think they are going to be the ones who pay it off on time, not overspend etc. While 95% of people will do just those things. The math doesnt work. That's why credit cards exist and a new one comes out every day. The vast majority of people were responsible and pay them off on time and redeemed all of the perks and paid no interest in credit card companies wouldn't be what they are. And because of that many peoples poor spending habits can be tracked to starting out with a credit card and thus begins the overspending. I don't know what that has to do with guns haha.

8k for a lift? Is he going to start doing monster-truck rallies? He could literally add 2 inches to his truck just by getting bigger tires. A set of 285/75/17 bfg ko2 will add 2.5 inches to the height of his truck vs the stock 265/70/17 without further modification. They will also destroy his gas mileage and throw off his speedometer. They will also make it an off-road beast for around $1200. He will have like 12 inches of ground clearance. This guy is a hoot!
