George hit the nail on the head. "at some point we have to do what we don't want to do " I constantly hear these excuses about all the reasons people cannot do things, not just about finances. It all boils down to people just not wanting to do things that make them uncomfortable. It stinks, but at times in life we have to just do it. It will be a hassle, hard, frustrating and uncomfortable. If work was fun, you would not get paid. I was a restaurant manager for 20 years. I worked 60 plus hours a week and was a single mother. I enjoyed the job, but the hours stunk. It was hard, it was a struggle, but, I had to take care of my kids, so I did it. I live in Texas and I HATE mowing my lawn. It is so hot. Each week I am out there with a mower and mowing that lawn. I could make every excuse to spend the money on a service, but, I just shut up the talk in my head and go do it. This sounds like a small example, but, we are faced with a series of all these things each day, just shut out that conversation in your head and get it done. Success comes to those who hate doing things and do them anyhow.

I teach CNA classes…after receiving certification of completion, before boards are completed our students are starting at $18.00/hr. ( 120 days of work are allowed before boards). Many local LTC facilities will sponsor(pay) for students if they agree to work for their facility for 6 months. As mentioned over time is usually available, shift diff, creative work schedules. For full time (32 hrs a week) benefits including PTO, holiday pay, insurance and help towards further education are standard. If unsponsored the classes are generally about $ 800.00 and take about 5 weeks…really not bad at all. Just a question wouldn’t it be better to work fast food than shower at MIL house?

Always amazes me. The people who need the most help are the ones who have the most excuses. I have family members in the same scenario and as much as guide them its always that my car broke down, my shoes untied, or I don't have time. I make 180k a year at my job and still go to yard sales on Saturday mornings and find stuff to flip on ebay lol. My wife is stay at home and she does the shipping so it gives her something to do as well. We sell about 5 items a day and avg $15 profit per item net. Extra 2k a month. We don't need it but it's also very easy to do for literally very minimal effort. I tell relatives this and say, hey come with us I'll show you how to do this. "I'm busy this weekend. Maybe next weekend"... then hear them complain how XYZ and they can't catch a break. World moves fast, stuff comes up, how you react is how you will end up.

@MrsUnderwriter yes stay home mom. Daughter is in 1st grade and our second on the way. She has plenty to do which is why we elected for her to stop working once our daughter was born. Even she says she enjoys the reselling cause it gets her out of the house and it's something we do together. She keeps track of all the book keeping for our little side business. She texted me this morning we are at $2,315 profit for month. Our goal is always $2200 since that is our mortgage payment. So we always tell people, we pay our mortgage with other people's trash.

You're a champ! My other half and I are 29, 2 kids, 300k mortgage, no car loans etc.. she is a stay at home mum and I'm only on 60k per year - BUT, when I was a scumbag druggie, living in a tent in my teen years, I used to steal sound systems out of people's cars - I now install them as a (cash only) side business. My normal day rate doing this is $1000/8hrs. This pays for everything.. our groceries, kids, etc.. but because I also work full-time I normally only do it 2-4 days per month. We are still not even engaged yet, but I will be doing this next year.. we've been together since we were 17, so I am pretty sure she's the one 😂

Some SAHM from Texas called in and said her husband didn’t want to have a joint account, they cut her off and that mf said “I’m not gonna tell you whether or not you should stay or go.” They then went on a tirade, assassinating the man’s character and convincing her to destroy the family. Meanwhile that guy is at work providing for his family. I’m sure his worlds been turned upside down by now.

I am confused so correct me if I'm wrong because I just listened to one sad story after another. Her husband made a mad decision and got a DUI, as a result, his license was revoked, and she is the one facing the consequences of losing the only high-income paying job between them both and she is his driver. So when will she be bold enough and tell him he either gets a bike or walks to and from work because this is madness! If she continues driving him to and from places, how will he learn to man up? I am not throwing shades, but how can a man allow his wife to drive him around, failed to have enough cash to fix their water issue and stop going to his mama's house to shower? How do they flush their toilet?

Classic example of people who make a bunch of irresponsible decisions including DUI, firing (doesn't happen to diligent responsible workers), house nightmare, leaving a secure job, etc etc. And then you become defeated. And then all of a sudden everything becomes an excuse rather than a result of your decisions. And now you're on the path where you resigned yourself to selecting choices which are going to keep you in the victim/excuse whatever mentality. I don't want to sound heartless. I mean I want these people to get motivated because they can do much better than this. But right now it's a mentality problem. Don't become the person who makes some mistakes, and then decides to live in the land of excuses, and then act like you had no choice. Dude, husband needs to get a better job. But also you're getting the second interviews, that means you're really close to getting hired. Why would you give up when you're that close? Really frustrating when it seems like they just want to select defeat. I understand it's hard to get motivated when you had a really bad streak. But that's what they need. They need motivation

If the pipes bust internally, the insurance is usually required to cover that from what I understand. Anyone know differently?
@user-mv9tt4st9k
@user-mv9tt4st9k Жыл бұрын
IF they had insurance. An insurance rep would have come out to inspect the damage; a burst pipe looks very different than a pipe that may have corroded or rusted away. It seems to be a racket that people claim a burst pipe, have an emergency plumber assess as a "burst pipe" and repair the damage but not document it (e.g., images), and then the plumber is paid through the insurer. If the insurance rep beats the plumber to the damage, the homeowner is on the hook if the pipes are not actually burst.
