as a disabled person, i’m very appreciative of how you’ve included accommodations for this practice but also the quality of your closed captions. so many people don’t make sure they’re actually accurate to what is being said. thank you so much!

Dang, those journal companies made a mint on me. Thanks for this EVERGEEN video, I found it on a "journal prompts for venting" search & I'm so happy!!! I need this flexibility (INFP). The bloopers at the end are chef's kiss 🤣 I needed to laugh!

For a perfectionist like me, freeing myself from having to do the pages in the MORNING is so necessary. It’s better to do them in the afternoon than to not do them at all. I got so tripped up in the need to follow the letter of the law, but for me it doesn’t matter if this happens first thing, but that it happens at all!!!

Journaling has helped me so much. What's bottled up has room to come out and I feel so much lighter. For me I only got really honest with myself when I made a commitment to destroy each journal within one year of completing it. Otherwise I would be writing for an audience,, even if I told myself I wasn't. Committing to destroy the journal broke that mind mess. Regarding your hand pain: have you tried fountain pens? And make sure it is a resin/plastic pen and not a metal pen. The ink from a fountain pen comes out via capillary action; the paper is drawing the ink out of the pen. No pushing or pressing is necessary or desired. It takes some practice to get used it. I'd start with a PIlot Kakuno medium point which is less than $14. It writes like a dream. Get one of the clear ones so you can see the ink. I'm sorry if this is presumptuous and I don't at all mean to minimize your pain in any way or presume you've never tried a fountain pen. Thanks for the video.

I threw out a box of journals once. It was cathartic I thought at the time to see the garbage truck pick it up and squelch it off the road. I wish I could go back and re read those first journals. I know there was a lot of venting in them, but still.

i love this accessibility with doing the stream of consciousness on my computer! My chronic condition causes severe hand and finger pain some days so i like that if worst comes to worst, i can use voice-to-text capabilities so that i do not get discouraged in my practice by missing a day!

Hi Cassie, this is the first video of yours that I have watched. I just realized that I need some major therapy and so I started with KZbin. Lol. Well, I set the clock alarm for 20 minutes and started writing. And at about 15 minutes I had a profound thought and I'm going to follow that up next time. So I wanted to thank you for that great suggestion and I will go back and watch some of your other videos. I'm 60 years old this year so I've got a lot of issues to work through from childhood on. But I'm going to really work on it, and thanks to people like you who are sharing your expertise, I can be that happier person I want to be.

I kept waiting for you to get to the part where you explain how to deal with it when the journaling sets off the negative or unhelpful thinking. Like if I'm feeling like a burden it just ends up being a list of "proof" I'm a drain on everyone and everything around me and then I'm spending the next several hours, sometimes days, caught in that thought spiral.

JOURNAL JUNKIE here! Found sooooo many when we cleaned out the house to sell! Now that I live on the road with my husband, I have recently started "collecting" planner versions too, trying to help me get unstuck! Lol. Did your BIC, and repurposed some of the planner pages for CREATIVE tracking, and now I see this ANYTIME PAGES-- and know exactly which journal I want to use for that--tactile enjoyment from the one I have been making my notes from your videos in. The paper is thicker and creates a nice feel and sound with my fountain pens! Thanks Cassie!

What would engaging with stream of consciousness look like? Especially if thoughts are random and fly from the topic.
@CassieWinter8 ай бұрын
Allow your thoughts to do what they're going to do, don't try to control them. Simply write them down as they come 💖
@christahindman50688 ай бұрын
@CassieWinter I always tend to misunderstand allowing my thoughts to flow to mean to let them go without direction. So you're saying to write them as they come regardless of cohesiveness?

What do you write about my head is full of so much crap . I have starting journaling i really want to try this but what will i write everyday even just 10 min to start with the build on it.
@CassieWinter9 ай бұрын
If you don't have a specific topic to start with, simply start writing what's coming into your head stream of consciousness. For me this ends up looking like complaining a lot 🤣 Usually by the 15 minute mark a main topic has arisen naturally and I can continue to process it until the 20-25 minute mark. I gain lots of insight this way 💖 Hope that helps!

For those who get startled easily set your phone timer to stop playing rather then a timer then your music will turn off instead :)

@@noblethoughts4500 usually there's an option when setting the sounds for the alarm, on apple its at the bottom of the list- I don't know about other devices though. But if apple has the option I'm sure everything else does as well haha

@CassieWinter3 жыл бұрын
Great question! When I say "groundhogs day" I'm referring to the experience having every day feel the same due to depression, anxiety, and trauma, and being unable to change even though one might really really want to. I talk at length about my experience with this in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYq5h6aoodtsbK8

The first Is to be a prolific writer. A successful one at that. Also to have a glow up and a sex change. Mainly because I am mtf. Wow!
