For a lot of us elder maggots, this is core slipknot. This is one of the songs where we fell in love with the band. The line "f--- me, I'm all outta enemies" felt (for some of us) like a line of empowerment because it allowed some of us to stop acknowledging enemies because an enemy is a rival. But if that rival is beneath you, then they are nothing. So to say that you're all outta enemies, means that you've risen above all the BS that life throws at you. So you ignore issues that don't matter (that some people might acknowledge even if they're unimportant, (I had to choose a different coffee because my favorite was sold out this morning).

"Fuck me, I'm all out of enemies" That line, to me, always felt like getting all that rage out, spitting out all this ichor, the anger and the sorrow, to the people that caused me harm... And yet, I'm still angry. I called out my enemies, spat my wrath on each and every one of their faces... And at the end, I still have all this rage inside me that I don't know where to put, all this vitriol, and nowhere to direct it. I am so mad, so angry, so wrathful, that I've run out of people to curse out. Fuck me, I'm all out of enemies.
@HeartSupport10 ай бұрын
From eagertuna0: @dasnurk The lyric you highlight is excellent and so real. When we feel like we've done everything. We're spoken to those who wronged us. We've tried to make things better. We should be happy. Or, at least, okay? And yet, as you mention, we're still angry. And yet now it's harder because we don't know what to do with it -- we don't have the closure we seek. So, the anger grows. There aren't any easy answers for these sorts of challenges, but I hope you know we're here for you and there are resources available if you'd interested in them, though time can also sometimes be the best medicine. I'm wishing you all the best and hope, one day, "Fuck me, I'm all out of enemies" turns into "Hell yeah, I don't need any enemies". -Tuna

From Cat187: @dasnurk Hey thanks for reaching out, It sounds like you’re frustrated and I'm always here to lend an ear and listen Emotions like that usually leave us questioning ourselves and it's important to remember that anger is a totally valid emotion to have and it's important to find healthy ways to express that anger. Going through things like that is tough and I'm proud of you for facing these challenges head-on. Sometimes the answers we need end up being hard to reach and I’m here for you. I hope that you have brighter days ahead<3 Cat187
@HeartSupport10 ай бұрын
From Micro: @dasnurk You described this so perfectly. The anger resulting from hurt feels like holding a weapon that needs a direction, a place to go to, otherwise it feels like it burns you from the inside and consume you. It's this powerful explosion of energy that needs to be noticed and have an effect, especially on the ones who have hurt you in the first place. But at some point, once you've expressed all that you need to the people that wronged you, you realize that the anger remains and may have not reduced one bit. It's like there's an impermanent dark hole in you, and the more you dig in, the deeper it gets. It needs to be fed more and more and fuels itself from the energy it gains. Man, I feel this with you, and with all my heart. Learning to compose with injustice has been a tumultuous and recurring them for me, and now that I've removed from my life the people who've hurt me the most, I'm left with this internal scream that feels so raw sometimes and just need a freaking place to go to. It's so hard to face this feeling of injustice and being wronged over and over. It's not like it happened once and is an isolated even that belongs to the past. You still have to deal with the memory of it, you still have to learn how to compose with this reality, and how to make your peace. It's such a challenging, intense journey, although hopefully one that can only lead us to meet ourselves at a deep and strong level in the long run. May you find peace, at your own pace, and learn how to fuel this anger in ways that would be both healthy and healing for you. You deserve to feel a sense of closure, one day, no matter what it would look like for you. Hold fast, friend.

I was hurt and needed time to heal, eventually I have become ready to meet that person halfway. Luckily they respected my space and let me be. It’s much easier today to talk to this person and want to be close with them. It’s nice to hear that this happens and someone might understand what I had to choose. I’m not alone.

I remember, as a kid, being so patient with people and never getting angry. Now I'm 39 and I'm angry really often, to the point that it's just part of my personality and I had to learn to live with it. I believe it's under control. Of course, if someone attacks me verbally, I let out some of that anger. When that happens, usually people stop picking on me after that. I hope no one try physical violence, I don't know what kind of monster would come out lol.

Glad you covered this one For me i took a fair bit of crap from others when i was a kid, and at some point i flipped to not giving a crap about what others may try and do or say for the most part but if you keep pushing me (all the needless nosepunchin making me irrate, sick of my bitchin falling on deaf ears...) if you force a reaction i will end the beef... one way or another and simply dont have time for all the petty shit no more, it wont hurt me because i will have the last laugh one way or another, even if this is just simply removing yourself from the situation but i will never forget so dont come back trying to make repirations cos when im done im done
@ChaosTool9310 ай бұрын
The way you interpreted this song is fascinating and your example hits really close to home. A question comes to mind because i dealt with something similar recently. My way of going through that situation was distancing myself and working through it by myself, by talking to friends and family, eventually i managed to deal with it myself and learned to let that anger from the past go. accepting that this person is trying to do better now and is genuinely trying to be part of my life in a positive way. but i am such a conflict shy person, that i never involved the other person in that conversation or set any boundaries. because i know this would have lead to a conflict, because there was so much built up anger and frustration in me back then Im just glad that this person was not forcing themselves into my life nor did they make me feel bad for not stepping towards them on my own. Is it bad not to involve them in this process and not talk it out? Im sure they know what's going on, they are not stupid.
@HeartSupport10 ай бұрын
From Lisalovesfeathers: @ChaosTool93 Hi Friend, Thank you for posting. I applaud you for recognising the problem with this person, recognising the problem that you have with conflict and managing to find a way to deal with the situation without any trouble. That is no mean feat. I think the only time it matters to talk to the other person is if they cross the boundaries you have set for yourself, you can them let them know that those boundaries do indeed exist and you would like them to be respected with no offence meant. There is no reason that can't happen however if it cant then you can perhaps think again on what the future holds for your friendship. Hopefully it wont come to that, Well done for putting your mental health first. Good luck. Lisa. x
