Therapist analyzes the lyrics of Laid to Rest by Lamb of God to talk about how running from failure and hiding from it is a sure way to defeat but admitting to failure is actually the only path to freedom.

Sorry to be one of those guys, but having served in Iraq as a young man this song hits particularly strong. I felt like it was directed towards the leaders who brainwashed us and sent us to war based on lies. The album this song is on has kind of a running theme that is very critical of war I would say.I take responsibility for my part don't get me wrong but I heard this right around the time I got out and I absolutely love it. Seen them live twice and they are AMAZING.

Walk With Me in Hell, please!!! Despite the name, it's actually a support type of song. It's basically about everyone having their own personal "hell." Let's get together and get through our "hells" together. Originally written by the lead guitarist when he met his now wife. He was quoted as saying that this song took on a whole new meaning to him after he and his now wife's first child was stillborn. That song has helped me through my own tough times. Even though someone might not literally be standing beside me, it always reminds me that there are people out there that are willing to help you get through whatever "hell" you're experiencing.

@@mitchumman8000 Both Wrath and Resolution are heavily underrated to me. I feel bad for Lamb of God because they had such a high going with Ashes Of The Wake and Sacrament. Then all of a sudden it's like all the music media dropped them. I knew about Wrath but it didn't seem like there was much backing of it. But I didn't know about Resolution until a couple of years after it came out. Granted between 2011-2014, I moved around a bit and joined the military so I wasn't up-to-date as much as I'd been before, but even so. Had I not randomly looked up the band one day I probably wouldn't of found that album until well later on.

I see someone else mentioned 512 and out of the entire Lamb of God discography I’m really interested on how you interpret that song. It was written after a hugely dark period in Randy’s life where he was on trial for manslaughter and had to wrestle with the knowledge that a fan died at one of their shows. Lamb of God has a huge number of amazing songs, but given your experience and education 512 is the one song I’m most curious to see you tackle

The lyrics, the riffs, the drums, the vocals, it's all so perfect. Old school lamb of god always hits. She should check out burn the priest. Randy’s vocals are even more raw.

Absolutely love Lamb of God!!! Omerta is one of my favorite songs by them. You have an amazing ability to listen and learn. Please listen to a band called Pallbearer. Given to the grave is a great song. I'm also a huge Tool fan!!! Awesome videos!

The ghost layers in Lamb Of God's music _{and I use capital M not by case}_ are one of a kind... only Tool and in probably major evidence Opeth, both in their own ways, can claim the same. In Lamb of God these layers are more subtle, hard to catch {if you're not a very good listener with a particularly musical ear... and unless your airphones sound like s**t!} but not less beautiful and deep. Just from this particular perspective I believe these three bands represent the epitome of that, they are like... ghost notes alchemists! Besides I should really say Randy's songwriting hasn't less complexity than Maynard but it's rather simply more brutal, straightforward and raw. Both aspects were a blast for me when I've discovered this amazing band, one of the very best on the planet. You can tell I love LoG!

Tay, you have GOT to do a few reactions to Meshuggah songs. Seriously, I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on their lyrics and musical content.

Love your reactions! 🎉 What a wicked tune, Lamb of God are in the elite for sure. Keep up the great reactions, I love how you disect the meanings behind lyrics. You should definitely do While She Sleeps - To The Flowers. Super emotional, I get a lump in my throat listening to the song as it reminds me of the music video. That's all I'll say! Hope to see it soon! 😮😊

Once you can get past the voice, youll realize the musicianship and the subjects he talks about like global warming (Reclamation)then his voice will grow on you within a couple spins. 😊😊😊😊

10 years ago I was in one of the worst stages of my life. I was planning on seeing the other side while playing the song "Blacken the Cursed Sun", it was and still is my favorite Lamb of God song in the entire discography. I had it on replay while writing all my letters to my friends, I related a lot to the song because in the song the chorus says "Sanctity, a breath away." As if I was so close to achieving what sanctity felt to me but I fell short... What a painful memory. Furthermore, the chorus also says "Blacken the cursed sun, you are not the only one, to have sunk so far and low... There is no tomorrow." That really spoke to me because I didn't know if I had another tomorrow and in my world at the time, the sun was setting and it was never coming back...

I worked with them. Really nice guys. It’s funny how the scary metal guys are usually the nicest and the bubbly pop stars are vile

The vocalist Randy Blythe his voice is crazy heavy, but you can understand every word. You wanna know something absolutely insane? He doesn't like Metal, zero% none. He likes old school punk. Pretty amazing being in one of the top five best Groove Metal bands, and he isn't into Metal, lol.

I bought this album in Gitmo (Guantanamo Bay) during a port call. I was shocked they had this heavy of music (I also bought American Idiot and an Agent Orange album there, with the same thoughts). At the time I was in the Coast Guard and we had been on patrol for a good few weeks, so new music was a definite priority for myself. This was back before even MP3 players were a thing. Or, at least I'd not seen them, yet. I remember being on kitchen duty and blasting this album while slinging glasses through the scullery. I imagine I both scared and pissed off a lot of the crew that day because the hallway to the cafeteria past right by where I was, and there weren't any windows, hehe. The track "Ashes of the Wake" is intense. No singing, just military members talking about their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan. Which is interesting because the first song of the album, the lyrics "Ashes of the Wake" are in a verse, but the track is called "Hourglass". It confused the hell out of me for years (I rarely look up lyrics to songs, unless I need to).

The first video of yours I've seen was Don't Reach for Me by Knocked Loose, but it was this video that made me realize that there is something really appealing about a cute girl making proper mean faces while enjoying music.
