Hello! I'm stinkin new and need help deciding on whether I should get the GB130 or the King Kong 130GT... I'm partial to the KK because I already read some very favorable stuff about it but open to ideas

I would take the GB130, it has a much better camera, much more powerful, and it will be more durable. Plus building it you will learn so much and how to fix it when you do break it.

Betaflight uses super expo rates by default, so it is built in through the rate value. :)

what does the two sets of numbers on motors mean?
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
1306 4000kv? the 13 in 1306 is how large the diameter of the stator is, which is the part in the middle which the wires are wound around. The 06 in 1306 is how tall the stator is. All measurements in mm. The 4000kv means that it will produce 4000rpm per volt applied.

I was trying your pids, and for some reason betaflight will not save my PID's , as soon as I disconnect the quad I connect back and the PIDs are back to stcok, I'm puzzled. and it's happening with two different quads, a 130 and a 210

@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
If your motors are so hot they burn your fingers they are too hot. On these tiny motors at such RPM they are always going to get warm/hot. Just as long as they aren't pushing the upper limits they should be fine.
@kostasganosis80198 жыл бұрын
Yes some times burn my fingers You think with all that filters on b.f. Can I fix it a little?? And I forgot to say that I have the kit blades 30-30-45 and I think is too much pitch so hoter motors

Spent all day chasing identical settings to get a nice tune with a Shuriken X1 (true X) 30A BLHeli_S BF 3.0.1 OneShot 125 2k/1k. In comparison it took 2 batteries to lock my vortex in with BF 3.0.1 and I ended with the X Frame at .8 TPA to actually lock in punchouts, but as you say at full throttle it then flies terrible. I also have annoying vibrations just under half throttle and did about 8 batteries ending close to your numbers but I think the low throttle oscillation is high D...so annoying lol. Someday's they just lock in and you go fly :) Great videos, keep it up!

Do you have any experiences in Yaw jumping? When I am doing fast yawing my quad is surging up in the air. I have no idea how to fix this.
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
It could be too high of yaw P gain, but that is unlikley. Try bumping up the "yaw jump prevention" value. It will always be there though, just the nature of the way the yaw works.
@shadowdude2178 жыл бұрын
My P gain is at 70 which is pretty normal. I´ve tried messing with the yaw jump prevention from 0 to 80 but have´nt noticed any differences. I get that there will be a jump but mine is literally surging in to the air with maximum throttle. Impossible to fly. Might just throw the quad away haha.

The RCAddict Yes, That's correct. Thanks!

i domy understend that pid. once you higher them and when it do this just a little bit you lower it than make a bit higher. i want to ask. my quad sometimes dont want to turn on yaw. when i want to turn, he makes counter. when i let yaw free to neutral, he spins in diferrent direct just a bit, than turns the same way i want with no counter. is that pids foult? i fly acro
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
So without you giving input the quad is yawing? Go into the configurator and look at the little model to see which way it is going. Also go into the receiver tab and see what your yaw channel is doing. You may need to add some trim and/or deadband in to keep it from doing that.
@gumisiek19938 жыл бұрын
The RCAddict no! when hover everything is ok. but sometimes when i want to turn it counter my yaw. i need to realese yaw to neutral and after that againt try to turn. on second time it mostly turn with no excuses

marcin gumis Man I am sorry, but I can't understand you well enough to know what the problem is.
@clubdredd13378 жыл бұрын
marcin gumis best thing to do is evaluating got threw Clean Flight or Betaflight. You might need to go into your controller/ receiver and switch your controls to reverse. Some of these boards come with reversed YAW and reversed pitch. If you can reset your receiver and drone settings and start from scratch might be better.

No Blackbox? Since I started using Blackbox, tuning is much faster and I get a better final tune.
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
I have never used it no, would take so much time to record and download and review it. I would just rather fly.
@helicrashpro8 жыл бұрын
Actually if you get an FC with a micro SD card slot like the Omnibus (what I'm currently using f4 V2) it's really fast and easy to get the logs. It has cut my tuning down drastically. Once you go blackbox you'll never go back.
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
helicrashpro I still disagree. While you are taking out the SD card, reviewing the log, I can just plug it in change the value and flying again. What ever works for you though
@helicrashpro8 жыл бұрын
Ya, but knowing what to change is the hard part. I find that I can take 3 minutes to review a BB log and get more accomplished than I can in 5 flights. For instance, in your video it took you several flight to get to the tune you liked, if you used BB you might have been able to get a better tune in half the time. And I also find I can find issues in the tune that I can't determine just by flying, it would take a lot of trial and error, guess work and luck. Whereas BB I can see the issues much easier. Your probably just better at figuring out what changes to make. I like the more obviousness of blackbox.

Have you ever wondered if the way we secure our batteries may effect our flights, for instance, your vibrations were in the pitch axis this quad is a low hanging battery mount, one strap center across side to side. Holds centrifugal force more securely in rolls then flips, longitudinally. Could the vibrations be caused by battery sort of pivoting in the battery strap. should try securing both ends of battery some how or wider strap. I don't know just thinking. Great video I need help still in learning pid adjustments, keep up the great work.
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
Good idea, but that is not the case. The battery is very firm, it is just vibrations coming from the motors that the FC can't handle perfectly.

Don't you ever check out your gyro/notch filter settings when trying to smooth out vibrations? Well, you clearly know what you're doing but it's curious to me because I usually pay at least some attention to that if a quad keeps showing vibrations / oscillations. Since you're on BF3.x you could look at finding the right notch filter setting for your quad. Because you have higher kv motors than the default-ish 2300kv, the default notch filter will most likely be off for you. It can really quiet down a quad, wonder if it'll make any difference for you. I'm sure you know how to do this but just to be thorough, you could check out this tutorial: www.propwashed.com/notch-filter-practical-guide/.
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am aware of the notch filters, but I have never bothered to configure them, so thanks for reminding me :) I don't have enough time really to spend tuning each quads filter, but I will try using it if i run into something like this again. Might have to, as the Shuriken X1 I am reviewing is having yaw twitches, and I really want it to fly well haha.
@lebasson8 жыл бұрын
What FC is on the Shuriken X1? My usual thing is to soft-mount an FC if having yaw twitches, especially if it's an mpu6500 or mpu9250 target. But yeah, good to hear you haven't fiddled with filtering and notch yet. I'm confident it'll have some impact on this gb130 build.
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
lebasson It's an SPF3 clone variant, so 6050 gyro. It is an all in one built in board, so not the easiest to soft mount. I will try some foam under the escs.
@lebasson8 жыл бұрын
Ah, that could indeed help! I was baffled recently to hear that blheli_s esc's could be the cause of jitters in an fc. Soft-mounting esc's might just help! Hope you'll keep us updated on your findings.
@TheRCAddict8 жыл бұрын
lebasson Yeah, I will put some foam under them right now and try, so if you respond here again I should have the results haha.
