The professor, or is it flight surgeon, is in the house. It looks so easy when you do it. I can release the magic smoke and I don't even have to plug in the battery.

Dave, I think that esc will reverse the motor for you, not sure if it’s in the Forward Programming or the esc programmer.
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Keith, you can definitely reverse the motor either through stock programming or using the Spektrum ESC programmer, but the quick down and dirty is, swap any two of the three and it does the job.

Hey Dave, I recently crashed my Eflite BNF Conscendo which came with the AR637Ta already installed (sucks to be me LOL) but I wanted to put it in a different plane. I picked up the Eflite F16 Falcon in a PNP version by accident (meant to get the BNF) and was thinking what the heck, I'll transfer from the wreckage (no damage to the receiver) to the F16. I know it's a little overkill for a $150 jet, but didn't want it to just sit around. So I have it out of the plane and hooked it to the SPMA3065 cable and opened up the Spektrum software programmer. Since it's not in a plane, I used the "Power Cable" feature and registered it. When I try to create a new model, it's asking for the receiver type and in the drop down there is not an option for the AR637T only the AR636? Am I going about this the wrong way? Also I am using the IX12 for my transmitter. I did install it in the F16 Falcon and it bound but everything is SUPER wonky with the controls and if I physically move the receiver while it's connected the ailerons will move like it is in safe mode? I may wind up just going to the LHS tomorrow and pick up a AR620 and go that route, but curiosity has the best of me if it is possible to basically reset the AR637Ta back to bone stock as if I bought it new. Totally appreciate all you do and will be waiting to see what yer thoughts are on this. Thanks man!

The AR637TA that comes stock in some BNF models now will be updated in the future to allow for reprogramming. For now, I believe they are locked down so there isn’t much you can do with it. It definitely won’t work in the F-16 as is.

@@TheRCAirMarshall Thanks buddy! Guess it's a trip to the LHS tomorrow! According to Horizon the AR620 is on back order :-(

Have you looked at the new AR630? It’s basically a slimmed down version of the AR637T. It has internal antennas like the AR620, but also has AS3X, and SAFE, and can be forward programmed the same way the AR637T is. It’s pretty nice. I’ve been running one in an FMS PC-21 for about a month now and it works great.

I need help. I have both the FMS ASW 17 Sailplane (40A ESC) and the Fox 3000mm EP Sailplane (70A ESC). I first want to install an AVIAN Smart ESC in the FMS ASW 17 Sailplane. Later, I may want to move it to the Fox 3000. So, does it matter if I purchase the Avian 80A ESC to use in both? I already have the AR637T. This series is great instruction for newcomers to the sport like me! Thank you very much.
@TheRCAirMarshall3 жыл бұрын
If you want to use the same ESC in both planes, you can certainly run the 80A Avian ESC in both. The 80A is significantly heavier than the 40A, so just be aware of that. Much more substantial aluminum heat sink casing on the Avian ESC’s in the 60A and higher models.
@williamramey19593 жыл бұрын
@@TheRCAirMarshall Thank you for your very quick reply. I am presently binging on your entire series and setting up my transmitter. At this time, I am on Part 8. I have decided to purchase the different ESCs. You are correct (of course) that the 80A would be heavier than the 40A ESC. I must say, your channel for instruction is the best that I have found. I feel like that a good friend is talking to me and taking me step by step through the process. I will certainly be contributing to your channel.

Hi, Do you have a series on how to program and setup this receiver for a helicopter? I have a Align Trex 450L. Thanks, Jim
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
asujimbo I do not. Not sure if this would be the best receiver for a Helicopter to be honest. The do make some purpose built flight controllers specifically for heli’s. I’m just not familiar enough with them.
@asujimbo4 жыл бұрын
@@TheRCAirMarshall I called spektrum and this can be setup in a heli with safe mode.
@asujimbo4 жыл бұрын
Not sure how to do it though.....

If the manual used to say 24 installation positions, it currently says the Pins have to be mounted facing forward or backwards, which then only gives you a total of 8 positions.
@TheRCAirMarshall2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I can’t say I ever read the manual. LoL. I’m kidding, of course, just not sure if it was in there or not. The number of orientations is in forward programming. If, with the latest firmware, it still shows 24 orientations in forward programming, I would trust the coding in the receiver over what the manual says.

It looks like you used CA glue medium to mount the receiver? Is that better then Foam Tac?
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Danny Helton the glue I used is called Foam Cure from Bob Smith Industries. It’s very similar to FoamTac. Definitely not CA, this stuff is more like oxygen activated contact cement.

I need help, I am trying to use a AR 630 in a airplane with Gear and flaps. I cannot get Gyro AX3S and SAFE to work, I am confused about channel config. there are 6 control surfaces so does that make FM channel and safe not possible?
@TheRCAirMarshall3 жыл бұрын
What kind of Transmitter are you using? You can assign channels beyond the 6 PWM outputs as long as your transmitter supports it.
