Hi Sir Question, does the magnet on the nose cone of F16 affects the signal of the receiver? I put mine close to the nose and I am getting signal loss but get connected right away. Also if I move the receiver do I have to start again from the beginning programming it? Thank you

You wouldn’t need to start over completely, but you would definitely need to adjust your orientation. The gains for AS3X / SAFE should still be the same. Usually any issues with signal loss can be traced back to poor antenna placement. You want to have the two antennas positioned 90 degrees opposed from each other, and you want to have them as far as possible away from the battery. As far as the magnet, I’m not 100% sure on that.

@@TheRCAirMarshall im using the AR630 receiver no antena sir, thats is why implanning to move the receiver maybe it will help. The only thing I have to do is do the orientation of the receiver again in forward programming? Appreciate your help sir.

Gotcha, same applies you want the side of the receiver opposite the pins as far from the battery as possible then. The AR630 can definitely see some interference from batteries. The larger the battery the worse it can be.

Great video Dave! One of the lessons I learned when I first attempted to program the AR637T is that during basic set up of the aircraft you should also assign the switches you intend to use for adjusting the AS3X gains while in-flight and the flight modes to your available Aux channels. When I wasn't doing that up front, for some reason my DX8 would only show Aux3 as being available for both AS3X gain adjustments and flight modes (which I suspect you will be discussing in a future video). Aux 2 was not an option. The guys at Horizon seemed to know right away what I did wrong and when I assigned the switches up front it worked like a charm! This might only be an issue for the DX series transmitters.

Do you know if the programming is going to be the same for the AR630? I have one coming tomorrow and want to put in my FW Blue Angels F-18. Got any suggestions for gains and other numbers for setting up SAFE for that plane? Just like to have a little safety net if something bad happens as I've only flown a couple EDF's so far. I probably wouldn't have gotten the receiver if this programming series wasn't so good, so thanks for making it easier!

Hey Dave, for some reason my NX10/Ar637T "first time setup" does not get to the second warning screen ( "any wing type....") or the "set the model level" screen. Any ideas? thx Mike

Quick question. Every time I plug in my ar637t it goes into bind mode even after it binds to my NX8 and I set up my all my surfaces properly. nothing in the bind port. Any ideas?

I have a DX6E it doesn't have a slider or at nob. How do I adjust the ganes? The horizon hobby tech person said that this receiver is compatible with my transmitter

James Turncliff for the DX6E, while you won’t have linear infinite gain adjustments, you can put the gain adjust on a switch. Not sure if the DX6e has the same switch compliment as a DX6, if you have a 3 position switch you can devote to the gain adjust, you could have, say, one position at +100, 0, and -50, which would give you ~100%, 50%, and 25%.

Kevin DuRant couple of things. If you’re using a DX series transmitter you need to be running firmware version 2.05 on your transmitter. Also, it could be that you don’t have Throttle Cut enabled.

I have a knight radiant as well. I laminated it and put proper hinges on it. Went to crazy with the laminate on the fuselage. Was way to tail heavy. Looked on KZbin found two great videos. Radian mods 1&2. Great informative videos that will work on the Night Radian as well. to make it a fantastic glider instead of just a ok one

As of right now today you cannot take the settings from an AR636 and import them into an AR637T. You would need to get the gain settings and priority settings from the AR636 setup and input them manually.
