I had the Chase Sapphire Preferred for 3 years and loved it. For $95 it had a ton of benefits that I could use. A year ago I decided to upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card which was a big uptick in annual cost ($550) but also gets me into truly elite travel perks. On top of that I got the AmEx Platinum that covers things the Chase Reserve does not. The third in that trifecta is the AmEx Delta Sky Miles Platinum. You’re right, I have enough cards now but I’m retired and my lifetime dream is travel so I’m set for anything now. You have great, informative reviews btw!

You have an awesome card setup! Pretty much top of the line cards, which makes sense given you've got some free time to travel and in retirement - you've earned it! Thanks for watching my video and I appreciate you sharing your setup as well.

Solid review. I wish CSR had all the multipliers and anniversary bonuses of CSP.

I used the $50 hotel credit this summer...awesome! I had the CSR twice, 48 months and a SUB each time, but the 3rd time I got the CSP.

I missed the 300 dollar travel credit by 1 month.....It was easy to hit the $4000 but I am bummed that I missed the 300 dollars. happy for everyone else tho. The online groceries stink. Should be in person shopping as well. 60K is a weak bonus for a quasi premium card. The portal is overpriced as well. I will downgrade after a year and move on.

I stayed patient and was waiting for the 80-90k mail offer but once the 60k+300 came by i went in branch and they gave me 70k and 300 travel credit, really happy with that

It’s a bit of a mixed bag. I think 60,000 points is more than fair for $95 card. ESP considering the value of UR points. I also got use of the $50 hotel credit though so that makes it even cheaper for me. I agree with you that online groceries is pretty garbage because now that many stores have good online grocery systems

Once you hit min spend - Chase is really good about giving you the higher offer if you ask. But you gotta hit the spend first.
@billwright217618 күн бұрын
Use the freedoms and Inks for everyday spend. Then send the points to your saphire. Research the chase trifecta. Currently in Branch you can get the freedom flex that has a x5 multiplier bonus in groceries and gas first year to 12k in spend. And a 20,000 ur point sign bonus for spending $500 in 3 months. Then send the points to use to the saphire. This is a 80k points offer if you can do the spend. At least it could organic as most people buy gas and groceries. When the flex has the catogorys for the quarterly credits they stack with the bonus offer giving you x9.

Can you break down how 1.5% catch all on the Unlimited is better than a 1x for the Sapphire.
@LK_EBM18 күн бұрын
Isn't it simple math: 1.5 > 1?
@falf900318 күн бұрын
the sapphire could be thought of having 1.1x because of the 10% anniversary points
@franciscanstudent18 күн бұрын
@@falf9003 Good point, and I add that the 1x on the CSP is also boosted by 25% through the Chase portal, making it 1.1x(1.25)=1.375x, which is still < 1.5x. However, the Freedom Unlimited has int'l transaction fees, which the CSP does not.

I have a question about the annual fee $95. Do you have to pay that upfront or that’s something that has to be within a year ? New at this lol btw great video

📣 Chase is doing a limited-time offer on the CSP. 60,000 Ultimate Rewards Points + $300 travel credit. For a card that doesn't get many elevated offers, this is great timing. ➡ If you're interested in seeing more details you can get that offer at this link: RDGuarantee.link/Chase-Sapphire

This new offer might be too good to pass up, however I just got my Venture X and already have a Quiksilver and Bilt. I am looking to get into the Chase ecosystem though. What do you think?
@franciscanstudent18 күн бұрын
I think you missed 2 medium-sized points in this video (you may have addressed them in another video, though, making this possibly an editorial decision I disagree with, rather than a true oversight on your part): this CSPreferred can be downgraded to the Chase Sapphire (see kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2TEiYKVgrF-fqM ) or upgraded to the CSR. If someone wants to bank those points (including bonus) for a year and then pump them up with an upgrade to the CSR for year 2, that should be doable. What puzzles me is why Chase doesn't put the same earnings rates of the Freedom Unlimited onto the CSP and make it more powerful. There is no reason for both cards to need to exist as they are now. Chase should be fielding the Freedom Flex + CSP and Freedom Flex + CSR duos to compete with Capital One's famous duo, leaving the Freedom Flex + Freedom Unlimited duo for the folks who can't justify the annual fees of the Sapphire series cards. Also, for the CostCo cultist, the Citi Strata Premier is a MasterCard, which is a nonstarter.
