The World Rapid Team Championship is a 12-round Swiss tournament taking place from 26-28 August 2023 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Each team must field 6 players each round, including at least one woman and one "recreational" player who has never been rated above 2000.
Players receive 15 minutes for the entire game, plus a 10-second increment starting from move one. Teams receive 2 match points for a win, and 1 for a draw. Official website: worldrapidteams2023.fide.com

07:20 I totally agree with you, Antonio, Daniil being so skilled at messing up his opponent's strategy at crucial moments. I really like his style too, his gimmicks that I imagine the AI doesn't share because - I think - they are outside the logical box and more psychological than tactical-strategic to create advantage or victory.

8:39 How is it not spectacular? You just win the a pawn and if black trades you immediately threaten the c pawn, no? Then I guess he can use his tempo to trade b2 for c6 but then you just put the rook on the b file and his rook is trapped under the b3 pawn guarding it, you can eventually bring in the king to dislodge his rook, and you have an automatic 4 on 2 majority on the king side as well. How is that ever a bad line for white? I'm genuinely confused.

Instead of Rxf3 as the winning move, what about just Ba6 immediately? And then after Qxa6 Black would THEN play Rxf3 threatening mate on h2. I don't see how White can escape mate in this scenario, at least not without giving up decisive material. Any comments on this???
@nephandi2316
@nephandi2316 8 ай бұрын
I didn't calculate very far but first thing to think about is that black isn't forced to take the piece, I don't see how black continues the attack after Qf2, threatening a queen trade... If Rxf3, then you can always trade queen anyway and fair enough you're down 2 pawns and therefore probably losing, but the game is far from over, maybe you get one back with Rxe6... Not clear at all. Also, even Bf2 looks good, counterattacking black's queen, white is very happy with a queen trade, you're giving back the piece but taking the e6 pawn at the end ot the line and thus end up only down one pawn.
@vcliburn
@vcliburn 8 ай бұрын
Good analysis. However, after Ba6 (as I suggested), Bf2 (counterattacking black's queen), Bxe2; Bxg3 Bxf3 and black wins a piece with two extra pawns as well.@@nephandi2316

Great Games Agadmator Strong moves by Dubov Black just falling short trying to get his passed pawn on the a file down the Board I figured the key move bringing the Rook to Check Black king and both options and outcomes of either move by Black the second game just a devastating offensive assault by Black capturing the knight defender very clever I guess Rapport had his last chance to make a mistake underestimating Rook capture knight Game Over Only one came out the forest 🤩
