Yeah the knights were really cool, very good writing here all around, but I enjoyed the initial part much more. It really had me in the mindset of utter hopelessness and desperation, I love stories of futile but valiant efforts. Take the movie 300 for example. It drives in deep the notion that when you're up against a wall, imminent danger/death before you and no means of flight, all you have left to do is fight.

I love the reverse concept of humans being some of the scariest things in a galaxy, especially since you always get to point at inspirations from things like Helldivers, and of course 40k, the OG. These knights are just Space Marines but a bit nicer, for a slightly less grimdark world. They show up, just 5, to defeat an entire army with a smile on their faces.

I’ve always love the “humans are the monsters to aliens” genre. Not in the literal sense, but in the sense that we are the overwhelmingly powerful race to others. It runs so counter to popular fiction. Alien races are always considered the stronger side of stories for their tech and strengths and whatnot. The thing is humans actually are terrifying. If we decide to kill something, we go all out to make it dead. It doesn’t matter if we might die in the action. We as a species eradicated the damned wooly mammoth. Twice. There was an island north of Russia that had an isolated population of them. When humans got to that island and realized they had more of them, they went to work again. With gods damned spears made of wood and stone. Give us actual weapons, actual training and an enemy that will struggle, we practically Jack off to that shit. We make weapons so destructive that the world had to say please no. So devastating that people can’t live where they are used for decades, maybe longer. Hell, before we had mustard gas and nukes, armies would literally salt the earth to prevent farming, just to deprive an enemy of food. Humans are monsters. To think otherwise is lying to yourself

pretty cool, i've listened to a lot of these stories, any have the same plot, story arc, even names, but this was good, i liked the inclusion of psionics, I liked the concept of actual chivalry , and a knight, it's a bit of many different stories or games we all know put together in a way we haven't seen yet, it should be rebuilt from the ground up as a series though, it's a good enough premise that it deserves more then this particular story offers.

Never ending bloodshed and constant fighting) Or that one (a world that is incomprehensible constantly shifting and mind numbingly complex your brain can't even really keep up while other weird demons go around doing stuff while some giant kalamari says "All according to plan" no matter if what he was doing failed or succeeded) And then there's that one........ What are these maturation to humanity stories? Where all the aliens are incompetent nubs and humans are super OP? There are entire channels dedicated on YT to this type of fiction. Where humans come in and own everyone. Also, these Human Knights came in and started using words that aliens didn't know to explain their strategy.
