So true. I've often spoken about how the first mental health professional is not necessarily the best person to work with you. Added to this there are good Psych's and there are bad Psych's. Just like there are good builders and bad builders. Credentials don't necessarily translate to competence.

Indeed. There are valid reasons why we use heuristics such as assessments when studying. Our teachers can't spend every minute with us while we work to confirm that we're practicing competently. But we need to be reminded as we're bombarded so often with claims about qualifications and experience that we take actual competence granted.
