To be fair though, it's not just skill Derren has. Most of these things he sets up require an ungodly amount of preparation before they even stand a chance of working. This is so odd. I am normally a Wayne with the worst luck of anybody I know. My friends and neighbors recognize my bad luck and pity me. But earlier today I went to get a haircut and it was a one hour wait. Well there was a lady outside whose car battery had died and she needed a jump start. I have cables but they weren't in the car. So I drove home to get them but couldn't find them. So I stopped at an auto parts store and picked up a pair. Drove back and got her car started, and she gave me 50 dollars. I said it was too much but she insisted I take it. To top it off, it all happened in time to get my haircut with no waiting at all. Then later I came across this video. It's the strangest coincidence of my life. I've jump started other folks before but nobody ever gave me money for it.

Why should you simplificate your thinking and communication? You dont think people are so thik thev can not understand words if they are not too common? Do you think they are not able to ask what a word means if it is new to them? Well, if youre being so afraid to admit you don't know everything, thats the only way one could stagnate to the point of voluntary ignorance because of silly cowardice or pride? No sane person would want to just pretend to know something they know they don't get at all. That would torment their mind. When you can at any time begin to ask, read about to learn and to observe aswell as discuss and even experiemet, to see if you have learned to find out where you are. It only takes time. There is no shame in giving complicate explanations to communicate complicate and novel ideas to one that is interested in morre than just learning the shallow words to utter in similar opportunities just to be able to manipulate others ignorant about the subject to see your performance as you knowing something you don't really understand, Complex issues need nuance, so the whole issue is not misunderstood by the learning party because of over simplification leading to passing on useless but convincing data, but creating false facts that lead to distorted opinions, actions with un intented aftermath We got government media religious cults and cultural misinformation for you if you want just answers that can not be logically questioned so trying to follow the daya will make you un easy in your safe fairy realm. What most people call luck is actually a combination of 1) "fortune" best defined as a beneficial outcome and 2) "probability" - the mathematical definition. and 3) a belief in a metaphysical "luck" which is attributed to people, objects, moments, etc. "they got lucky"... Did they perform any better than the probability would predict? Often not. "they got lucky" just means "they received a fortunate outcome". "they got lucky". They got the rare item after 10 events when the expected proability is 1/100. Does this mean a spirit is bending the probability in their favour? No. A 1/100 chance will not always happen every 100 events on the 100th event. But the earlier or later the outcome occurs compared to the expected probability just becomes less and less likelier.

Luck in life isn't about being handed £20 for answering some questions, or winning a TV from a scratch card, but about the big picture. Wayne says he has bad luck, but he clearly hasn't. Hard work and commitment have contributed, but he had the good luck to inherit or build a business which was popular in the area. The majority of businesses fail. I've never won the lottery, but I've had episodes of good luck which have resulted in good things happening which lasted years, and which were far more important than winning a few quid.
