@heber moreno Yes I agree that fundamentalists do not care about logic or reason. But that does not mean that Steve would be surprised by that. Steve said that nobody with any intellectual integrity could watch this show and remain a theist. I agree that many Christians could watch this show for years and not lose their theistic beliefs. But they do NOT have intellectual integrity. So they do not contradict Steve's statement. Not having intellectual integrity is a major need for being a fundamentalist. Lack of education would be another. So there would be some people who were unfortunate enough to be poorly educated and indoctrinated in religion from a young age that DO have intellectual integrity. They would no longer be theists after a year of this show. The people that remain theists after a year of this show have NO intellectual integrity.

@defiance17905 жыл бұрын
I disagree. One could watch this show strictly to understand Atheism and their concept of logic. Which I would agree makes a lot of sense. However, the main case of an atheist is “I haven’t seen enough evidence therefore I don’t believe”. If one were to have experienced more than enough evidence to believe that God does in fact exist, then there is no way the person is going to change their mind just because they keep hearing from Matt “I don’t have enough evidence”.
@VestigialHead5 жыл бұрын
@@defiance1790 Not true in the slightest. Most Atheists would certainly believe in a God if sufficient evidence was provided. By sufficient evidence I mean quality evidence that is peer reviewed and then replicated multiple times and no holes found in the hypothesis. It would have to be extraordinary evidence as it is an extraordinary claim. So hearing some voice claim "I AM GOD - BELIEVE IN ME OR BURN" would in no way be sufficient evidence. Could easily be the work of humans faking it. You need to realise most Atheists do not base their beliefs on what anyone says. They base them on what has solid evidence and what does not. So it would not matter what Matt was saying - if the evidence is strong then Atheists would become Theists. If the God that was proven was the God of the Bible then I doubt that a lot of Atheists would worship this God though. The God of the Bible is a horrendously negative vindictive and self conscious tyrant not worthy of praise.

@jymbo19694 жыл бұрын
@Izuku Midoriya Deku Nonsense. The only declaration in atheism is "I am unconvinced gods exist." Atheism is this: a lack of belief in the existence of God or gods. Theism is the belief one or more gods exist, and atheism is simply not having theism. As Wizard Suth said, "It's only a lie if the person isn't an atheist." Otherwise, atheism is necessarily true. Am I categorically declaring gods do not exist? No. First off, I have no idea what a god even is, and second I don't know if anything I'd call a "god" does in fact exist somewhere in space and time. I don't believe in anything supernatural, so a magic miracle god is not something I can believe in; same with a tri-omni god, since such a thing is logically impossible. I am an agnostic atheist. Your statement about belief in nonbelief is absurd. Also one does not need any evidence to not believe any premise. However, a lack of evidence for a premise is evidence in support of the null hypothesis... And if the null hypothesis has not been falsified (with evidence), it is premature to rationally believe the premise. Which is to say, the time to believe in gods is when there is sufficient evidence to warrant such a belief.

It is attractive for them to try and fit their square religion in a round logical hole because logic has brought us so much tangible and they want to take part in that.
@stevewebber7075 жыл бұрын
That sounds a bit like the Dunning Kruger effect. If a person lacks the rationality to understand their state of irrationality, a mass of many different results can follow with little resemblance to rationality. When someone tells me they got a pet poodle, I generally accept it because I know I live in a world where poodles exist and people obtain them as pets. When someone tells me they got a pet fire-breathing dragon, I'm going to need some exceptional evidence because I know we live in a world where dragons aren't known to exist and people don't own them as pets. And showing me a piece of burnt wood claiming it's proof of this pet dragon or telling me that 'Well, I have to first believe the dragon exists and then maybe it'll choose to reveal itself to me' isn't the kind of evidence people would need before they accept someone has a pet dragon. And, I think we can all agree that God would be far more extraordinary than a dragon so there better be some incredibly extraordinary evidence to back up the claim he exists.

Most people don’t have a full/accurate understanding of any religion, including these hosts. no wonder they disbelieve. Examples: Jesus was originally called Jesus OF the Christ. Christ is Christos in Greek/Latin, & Christos is another name for Krishna. Krishna says he’s the father of all creatures, & Christ says the father is “greater than I.” Vedas are the 1st to teach how God, A.k.a Krishna A.k.a Vishnu, created the Great Flood to destroy sin. He also did miracles & offers to save followers from sin. Jesus’ miracles remind me of things done using Vedic-science (his life from ages 12-29 was deleted…possibly due to learning Vedic-science according to many sources & some evidence). Vedas were written over 5,000 years ago but known eternally before that. All major religions/sciences stemmed from Vedas. Buddha, Christ were 1st mentioned there, as was all math, oldest histories, other planets, Relativity, etc. It also gave the socio-economic system that dominated/thrived all over (the spiritually centered, merit based Varna system) BEFORE it was corrupted into a birth-based caste system. ALL life was respected with compassion (killing animals was allowed in rare, unavoidable situations, especially with minimal suffering to the animal...all of which is what the Bible actually teaches). Vedic teachings share the same core teachings as the Bible (including having 1 supreme personal God) but because Vedas are so detailed & allow variations for people who are less good/truthful, it ALSO mentions God with his impersonal energy aspect (Brahman) and many “Gods” (AKA angels like Ganesh) and people misunderstand. Vedic shape/age of Earth is confirmed by modern science, but Vedas have their own more detailed/advanced/accurate model of creation/evolution (involving spiritual evolution of mind). We WERE all perfect because we all came from the PERFECT person (God) but we abused our free will with God and were sent to this struggle on Earth and God sent Jesus because he was the only way for (some) very sinful people to whom his message was meant for, not all people of all times. Hate the sin, love the sinner, but when them of karma and possible long term (not eternal) hell that fits the crime. I may not see your reply here but if you need details/sources, click the sub/bell icons for upcoming epic vids via channel “Playitalready” & watch its main vid/description for now. I eventually see most comments on that vid. If you don’t wanna pay for the book in the link, ask in your comment there for the free PDF.

@@airplayruleYou're suggesting that religions have not done an adequate job of explaining themselves in a way that reasonable people can understand. I agree. But I suspect that it's because they can't. Remember, it's their claims which are at issue, their burden of proof. If they fail to meet their burden of proof, don't look around for someone else to blame. It's on them. We live in a world where people have to transfer complex knowledge among themselves all the time. If we fail in this, planes will literally fall out of the sky. Water supplies will become contaminated. Vehicles will spontaneously explode. Hospitals will become nothing but morgues. Such events do take place, but they are rare. Humans are in fact very good at understanding things WHICH ARE UNDERSTANDABLE. Your argument that religion is somehow so central to human existence, yet widely unintelligible because people are at fault for failing to understand it, simply does not square in any way with the reality that we all experience. Nice try, but you're really offering an Ad Hominem fallacy here.

@@starfishsystems Yes religions can't explain because, uh, unlike people, religions aren't alive to explain. Everything u say in your comment, including your claims of burden of proof where u attempt to shift the burden of proof while blatantly ignoring all evidence i say or offer, is also carrying a burden of proof, of which u offered 0 proof for anything u say. If you're too closed minded to address, or request, proof, don't blame any1 but yourself. U can keep saying u don't have to prove anything while 97% of the country is not atheist n 93% of the Globe is not atheist OR agnostic. We live in a world where people have proven to be very good at misunderstanding things even if they ARE UNDERSTANDABLE. look around at social media, Fox News, MSNBC, politicians, Karens, scientists' conflicting beliefs n claims etc. n you'll see people full of having n conveying misinformation, and or lying to others or themselves. 500 years ago, n sometimes today, people contradicted the Vedic teachings that the Earth is round, relativity is correct, we must take care of the planet, etc. "....not square in any way with the reality that we all experience." -*that YOU experience. Nice try. "but you're really offering an Ad Hominem fallacy here." -no YOU just did that, n i just quoted u doing it, unlike u who offered 0 proof on that....or anything. if u admitted u have 0 proof n were open minded to evidence, I'd show religion is central earlier. i will below. What's the point in commenting if you're going to ignore every statement or evidence i say or offer, n just make up claims? do u just wana argue with how u see or assume things n people like me, n not have honest, open minded convo? did u really, fully, carefully read my last comment? There’s good n bad people everywhere. That includes theists n atheists. But if everything is the result of abiogenesis n the laws of physics, then so are thoughts n claims that everything is the result of the laws of physics n that there’s no supreme being with a supreme moral code. Your thoughts n claims maybe like the noise of a faulty robot that accidentally formed. Without that supreme moral code, your claims about morality is your opinion vs some1 elses. That includes anything u say about any other “moral” terms u wanna “sneak in” to justify your “morality” claims (circular reasoning). Thus, whatever u claim is or isn’t moral (or ethical, empathy, fair, common sense, well-being, non-aggression, pleasure, good, or whatever terms I left out) is opinion too. Saying something is moral because u think it helped our common ancestors survive n reproduce, is an appeal to nature fallacy, is speciest, n assumes that human survival n reproduction is moral (that’s more circular reasoning n begging the question). If society defines those terms (an appeal to popular opinion n force fallacy) then if the previous, current n future leaders of a nation, like secular atheistic N. Korea, got the world to agree that all “moral” terms should be defined by the leader, n it becomes law too, then according to secular atheism (n Darwin’s theory because he’s maximizing his ability to survive n reproduce) he’s not immoral. Even IF a secular atheist can prove how to know morality, n some people agree, it wouldn’t offer any objective standard or answer for WHY a leader who violates that “morality” without empathy or punishment, is morally obligated to change. Citing “immoral” religious scriptures/people is cherry picking, n would contradict the claim that there’s no objective morals in the 1st place, n it wouldn’t make sense (as already explained) n even if it did, it’s a personal attack fallacy, which can be used against atheists more so, since TONS of studies show; -more people have been terminated by secular atheists than any religious people, even though 93% of the world isn’t atheist or agnostic (that number also debunks the claim that secular atheism is common sense, as do science journals that cite atheists are the least trusted demographic, even among other atheists). -Religious people donate n volunteer way more than atheists. -Religious people have more stable marriages n self control -etc. If abiogenesis experiments keep failing, n our common ancestors for countless millennia included advanced humans, who had Vedic scriptures that are where all major sciences n religions stemmed from, via divine inspiration, n most modern people have a very limited, flawed, biased understanding of what I said in this paragraph, n of all the major religions, will u accept it? Or say you’re open to a detailed comment n video (on channel “Playitalready” where the better vids have yet to be uploaded) that provide logic, evidence, n sources?

God does exist. Look up the ashened remAins of soddom and Gomorrah with brimstone littered everywhere
@114wildfire5 жыл бұрын
Lacuna Leora So you admit those ashened remains do exist. However, there actually 5 sites like that. The cities of the plains as the Bible states. Also, the brimstone found there, which is the same thing as sulphur, wasfound to be 98% pure sulphur. NOWHERE on this earth except these ashened ruins have sulphur that is 98% pure sulphur. Sulphur our of a volcano is only 44% pure.
@114wildfire5 жыл бұрын
Lacuna Leora These ashened ruins still remain, preserved in ash. If an asteroid hit, then nothing would remain. And once again, only at these places will ther be found 98%pure sulphur. If you still don’t believe in God, then that’s up to you. This is just another example or evidence that validated the Bible narrative.
@dionettaeon5 жыл бұрын
mike jones; No it doesn't. Finding a place that is geologically high in sulfur does not prove that a supernatural entity put it there.

The lie is not atheism, the lie is what atheists use to defend their morally bankrupt worldview. It's really that simple. If they were not defending themselves against religion they would be nothing and in order to defend against Jesus they make up lies that cannot be verified any more than Christians having Jesus show atheists what they want to see. Christians believe in Jesus and what he taught. Not in a physically alive person who walks around today in the flesh. If you want to find God you need look no further than the words Jesus spoke about what we are to do today. Love one another. If you can find a better way to make peace than within every person then why is it not being taught everywhere and why do we have so much conflict and hatred in the world Is atheism able to remove that? No, not unless something has changed in the world that makes everyone more at peace.
@KarpKomet5 жыл бұрын
Peli_can Dude Your post is barely comprehensible. What lies, what worldview could one atheist possibly share with another, they just both don’t buy a fairytale you do. I wonder, why do you think people believe in the Quran, or did believe in other deity’s throughout history. Ok now take that thought and apply it to your own religion. No evil lies or worldview necessary :) Or do you also accept the Quran as the word of god? If not, again, tell me why so many people think it’s true...
@peli_candude5545 жыл бұрын
@@KarpKomet Does it really matter if they share anything? Please don't tell me that the term "Free Thinker" indicates that no two atheists share the same ideas because they definitely do. Many of those free thinkers are being told what to think by popular atheist sites that spout lies about Christianity and the Bible to influence these free thinkers, that are no longer free thinking when they are chained to someone else's ideology or worldview. _I wonder, why do you think people believe in the Quran, or did believe in other deity’s throughout history._ Well wonder no more because it's not me telling them what to think. There are many reasons why they would follow one god or another and they were doing that in the time of Moses, Abraham, and Jesus and ever since and long before. Belief in God is as natural as homosexuality, adultery, theft, and murder and unless you are a true free thinker and demand to know the details of why you should believe something and try to verify that for yourself then you are JAFO in the great scheme of life. If you ever watched "Blue Thunder" you will know what JAFO is but if you haven't it is an acronym for Just Another Fukin Observer. _Ok now take that thought and apply it to your own religion. No evil lies or worldview necessary_ In your opinion...one based on "one less god" atheist worldview. Where did you borrow that from? _Or do you also accept the Quran as the word of god?_ Oil and water. They don't mix. _If not, again, tell me why so many people think it’s true_ Because it was based on the truth and not some celestial event or natural disaster. It was enforced by it's own brutality like some Christians did to their followers but we've outgrown that. So have most Muslims but until they recognize Jesus as the son of God who was resurrected they will not be Scottish Christians. So since I've answered your questions how about you return the favour. Why not tell me what it is that you believe in and how that is better than Christianity or any other religion? I was an atheist most of my life but raised Christian so I know enough about both lifestyles to be able to appreciate why there are choices and why some buy into their preferred "lifestyle choice". Don't be shy...you were bold enough to claim that I am following a fairy tale so why not tell me what makes you certain where most atheists simply say they don't know and can't say.
@jason3357775 жыл бұрын
Because they are calling themselves atheists when in actuality they are agnostics. A true atheist would say that no god for a fact exists. Agnostics say i dont have evidence once exists, but given such evidence I would perhaps believe.
@petehouse83805 жыл бұрын
jason335777 nope. Atheism is simply the position that the evidence so far presented for the existence of gods is inadequate. I certainly wouldn’t say that there are absolutely definitely no gods, I’m just unconvinced. Agnosticism is the position that we don’t currently have knowledge of such things, so to be absolutely accurate I’m an agnostic atheist. Theism/Atheism are both a matter of belief.

So, by claiming Dunning and Kruger are idiots (and making other disparaging comments about them), you are actually confirming your lack of knowledge and intelligence. You are the reason they did the study. And you are the perfect example of their results. Funny how reality works.
