"There's Something Wrong with Never-Married Men in their 40's"

The common refrain "there's something wrong with a man who's never been married by 40" is one used by increasing number of women who are rejected by them. A deeper look at "men never married by 40" shows, yes, some may be nerds, but most are just fiscally and morally responsible. And we don't want none of THAT now do we?

@allend433
@allend433 8 жыл бұрын
+The Florida Lifestyle when you think with emotions, it curtails reading comprehension i think. His post was about assessing which actions are responsible and which are not. A woman, who created a child she could not afford, is lobbing the descriptor irresponsible onto someone who did not have kids they cant afford to raise. Does it really not register with you that a person should take responsible actions in their own lives before they start calling others irresponsible? It takes two people to make a baby, but that point is irrelevant here. Here we are discussing 1 person who had a baby and another person who did not.
@allend433
@allend433 8 жыл бұрын
Your cynicism is just a cop out. From my comments and the OP comments, there are 2 logical conclusions. Conclusion A, if you are going to be irresponsible, don't call other people irresponsible when in reality, they are being responsible. Or Conclusion B, don't be irresponsible. No one said women shouldn't have children. But introducing a life into the world at a disadvantage just to satisfy ones own emptiness or perhaps sex drive, that is an epic fail.

+The Florida Lifestyle the point is WOMEN DON'T MAKE BABIES ALONE EXCEPT WHEN A DIVORCE HAPPENS THEN CHILD SUPPORT AND CUSTODY BECOMES A PRIORITY. Then its not Our kids its MY kids and My Kids Lend to you Twice every 2 weeks. Men have no rights when it comes to marriage.

39, unmarried and MGTOW. I have no problems with love, monogamy, or even having kids, I just won't invite the state into my relationships. Be with someone if your happy, leave if you're not. The only difference is weather you legally promised a "cashout" to your spouse. There really is no benefit to men in marriage.

@@adrianabednarczyk6544 true, but at that point it's not worth living and your making assumptions about this person. Some people have high (health spans =measurement of how healthy you are throughout your life,). As an example I know a guy who is 55 with 6 pack abs. He can still do push ups, sit ups with my astonishment. You just gotta be as healthy as possible and when you do reach this state it's possible to die decently healthy. Though it would still get miserable when you reach older age though. That doesn't always mean the person will be in buildings with a wheelchair. Just most people are for many reasons. You can have a high healthspan with low life span or the other way around. You just gotta study on what habits are unhealthy for you and find habits that promote healthy body. Some are obvious others not so obvious. Many are doing unhealthy habits wheather they realize it or not.

@@thoughtaddict2739 Don't try to reason with her or let her fool you. Every other old man rotting away lonely in the nursing home is "happily married". So much so that I no longer feel sorry for old women doing the same, because chances are, she put her dear hubby there 10-20 years earlier, when he was becoming a burden and she was still able to run around hot to trot. What goes around comes around and everyone dies alone.

Having children to increase your social circle is poor thinking. My father worked his way through college in a Nursing Home after he got out of 1st Group Special Forces in the Army. The truth is that most of the time the kids don't really come and see these people very often and in most cases they rarely if ever visit. The social circle of the residents in a Nursing Home is made up of the other residents and the sites medical staff.

@@adrianabednarczyk6544 Well I'm not gonna have kids just so they can take care of me when I'm old, I'm not gonna have kids just to raise my status in a messed up society, I'm not gonna have kids because I want my legacy to live on either. Notice how all these reasons are selfish and they are the most common reasons why people throughout history have kids and never think about how the kid will feel in life.

If you're a man in your 40's and unmarried then there IS a likely explanation: Your intellect & reason won out over your hormones. Congrats. I have a family member who got married about 15 years ago. I didn't attend. The fact I didn't attend was an "issue" at the time. 15 years later, - he's newly divorced and has said (& I quote him): "Marrying her was the biggest mistake I ever made". Yeah. in 1998, I was 30 yrs old, I was police escorted out of my home in handcuffs because my ex falsely accused me of beating her. That was the last time I ever lived with a woman. Charges were dropped and she got away scott free from the crime she committed. After that, I dove head first into my work and worked my ass off for the next 12 years, my career took off, promotion after promotion, travel, I mastered my trade, developed a side business which started as a hobby. In my early 40's, I was living the life of luxury, luxury car, food, two story executive apartment, of course I had girlfriends, but the law was "this is my home, your home is your home, and it's staying that way." I will never be falsely taken out of my home in handcuffs again........Then I met my last girlfriend, she was a seductress and I allowed myself to obsess over her, I lost focus, and eventually I lost everything, including my career. She never moved in with me but she helped clean out my bank accounts. It was all my fault and I take full responsibility that it was my foolish decisions that got me where I am today. I'm now 52, she ceased contact with me 3 yrs ago because I "had nothing more to offer her", now I'm climbing out of the hole I had dug myself into, focusing again, building again, and no woman will ever sink her hooks into me like that again. I now know the meaning of the ancient saying; "a woman can crush a mans empire." She does it by removing his focus off his empire and on to her.

I got my finances in order, enough that I could finally replace my 17 year old car. Should be debt free in about a year. I still help out family, so I am hardly being selfish. Growing up overweight was the best thing that ever happened to me. I learned to judge people accurately and, because women didn't want to date me, I saved and invested most of my money. Now in my 40's, I have no debt, huge house, 5 cars, snowmobiles, own land, stocks, and thousands of dollars in the bank. I lost weight in my late 30's, got engaged, and was lucky to get out before we got married when all the red flags started popping up. The sad thing is, women are not anything like we were taught. Women cannot think rationally and make poor life decisions. At this point in my life I cannot risk losing everything I've worked for in a divorce. It's just not worth it.

As a never-married guy who's 43, I can attest that babies and home decor don't interest me enough to spend my entire life working like a dog just to pay for it all. That leaves women who aren't interested in marrying enough money to get babies and real estate. They're all clubbing chicks, and they're of no interest to me either, any more than I'm interesting to them. So, I'm a never-married guy in his 40s :) Fair enough, since women in their 40s are no more attractive than most men in their 40s, including myself, so why the hell would I marry one? :)

Never married men in their 40s are considered "Wrong" because they piss off the tax man. Since they aren't paying for a wife, kids, and a McMansion, they don't have to work such long hours at such stressful jobs. That means they can do less work and be in a lower income tax bracket. Also, they end up paying less in sales tax and property tax because they often buy less stuff, and either live in a small house or rent a small apartment. Since working stressful jobs can cause an early death, less stressed men may live longer and collect more in social security and pensions if they take care of their health. Even when some tax exemptions are made towards having children, getting married, and and having a house, the unmarried man in his 40s is still paying less in tax than the married man.

I applaud you men. Taking an objective viewpoint of what current mainstream society "requires" of men, I understand your point of view. As a divorced woman (no children or dependents) , who cured herself 20 years ago of unnecessary material consumption, I concur the freedom from typical American encumbrances (mortgage, 2 or 3 car notes, children's maintenance and so on). I've entered the lower end of home health care; I work just enough to ensure the low consumption lifestyle I want now and for the rest of my days, which allows for travel, personal development, sufficient health care maintenance, financial investments and a little extra for small indulgences. It's a good feel! So, I raise a glass to you men! CHEERS AND CONTINUED CONTENTMENT!

My minor in college is marriage and family therapy (since i can have an objective point of view since I'm not married myself) and every professor I've talked to about this says the same thing. Some peoples' braind are literally not wired to desire to have children. It's a small amount of people but I definately fit into that population. In fact i get somewhat sick even thinking about having a child. It's not for me and im proud to say i know it never will be. 100% spot on. Was never a party go-er in my younger years or felt the need to socialize, I always felt drawn towards spending my time and effort learning to paint and sculpting. It was always more important and necessary to me (in my own mind) than chasing women and starting a family. As Aaron pointed out many parents struggled to provide for their kids, I had little means (money, car) to take a girl out in my teen years and in my 20s too embarrassed to bring anyone over to my dingy cheap apartment in a rough neighbourhood. I was never in a position financially, to support the idea of starting a family until i was in my late 30s. Many friends ask me if am I lonely or feel I missed my chance to have a family, but to be honest I'm debt free and spend my time how I choose, most of my married friends cannot say the same.

I'm in my 40's. This video is pretty much on, except I had a good family life. We weren't poor, but we weren't well-off either. I learned to appreciate what you have and don't spend outside of your means. My parents were happily married. What kept me from getting married and having kids, were my friends. They'd get married and the women would just decimate them. They get divorced and instantly, half of what you have is hers, and what is hers, is still hers. Then if you have kids, you're on the hook for that too. My one buddy got married/divorced. He told her that if she needed anything, to just let him know. That wasn't enough for her, so she sued him in divorce court for so much, he had to sell his house, and move in with his parents. Screw that. Women shame me all the time for being in my 40's and haven't been married and not have kids. I just think, "Well, I'm glad I didn't try to talk to her." I had a serious girlfriend try to extort me into marriage, for God's sake. "I should do the manly thing and marry her, since we've "already" been together for a year." I nearly lost my mind. Within a month, we were apart. Screw that.

Unfortunately, every woman that I dated added stress to my life. I knew having kids would not be fair to my kids and was a virtual trap to be stressed and attached to a crazy women for damn near ever. Women have to realize that there are a lot of men smart enough to know what I have just pointed out. I don't want to be ok. I want to be well off by the time im 50. The sad thing is a few of my exs have or is taking care of a dude. Working and paying all the bills. This happends a lot in the black community believe me...."BELIEVE ME". Sometimes I get lonely as we all do, when that happened I just remember that I didn't cheat anyone... Hell I was cheated on on sexually and financially but still managed to make it. So to all my young men who think sex is the most important thing. I say, don't let it guide you off a cliff and though it most extremely important thing you can ever learn in life is to MANAGE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!

46 single and no kids. Own 2 rental properties and have my own mortgage free house. Even though I love woman, they don't genuinely love their husbands from what I've seen. They base marriage on money and a guy with a large package. I'm speaking the truth here. I've course that's not all woman but generally speaking.

I am 75 years old, never married, no kids. I think about getting married someday but after about 10 seconds of thinking about it... I dismiss it completely and just enjoy the peace & solitude of being single, with no obligations, no responsibilities & a life with no bull shit or a nagging, fat ass wife that is never satisfied and that pisses off money on total junk. I could go on and on but I think you have the picture. Marriage for a man totally sucks. I would rather spend my time enjoying my money... enjoying Freedom... and going caming & fishing.

48 here. never married, no kids. vasectomy. good job, started jujitsu (proud white belt!) , gym membership. lots of friends and parties. self-employed so I avoid the "why arent you married questions, most of the time). i'd love a vintage car....but at this point...i could take it or leave it. I might just rent one on my birthdays and random weekends. only down side for me is that when I travel, i'd love a travel companion. I'm considering just finding an arrangement when I pay for the girl for the trip and then be done with her. Little pricey, but that's what the money is for. We'll see. what a great post. nice to see so many other brothers on here living the same life.

A year later, Forbes posts an article about how being single makes you more successful. They basically said it's because you'll have more time. You nailed that and the fact that it fuckin costs money to support a family.

27, no marriage, MGTOW! I don't have time for girls. All time I have, is for me. Listening music, listening videos like this, learning something from KZbin about MGTOW, science or something, walking and mountain biking. I rent cheap, have only four bills after my rent. I am living, instead of working to please other people. I love, not just like, this MGTOW lifestyle. I've been in short relationship at age of around 15 - I realised then to never want marriage or any other relationship. I hate Tinder and I don't like people asking why I am still single. I need no one but me to live. I don't need a so called "wife" to clean my house or make me food. I can do any of that and more on my own. Feminism is destroying women!

I'm 43, single and never married with no kids. two college degrees, good job, own my own home, no debt, no crazy ex-wife or baby-mama. Women won't give me the time of the day! They're all too busy chasing the bad boys, then when they get used and dumped they sit home asking, "Why can't I find a good man?"

As an addendum to my previous comment 2 weeks ago, most of the people that asked about my love life were married or divorced women. Very few guys ever asked. They knew the drill very well. I lived from paycheck to paycheck for MANY years. As i said before, some of the stumbling blocks to my dating life were little things like mortgage payments, car payments(used cars), utility bills, insurance bills, income taxes, property taxes, food, home and car maintenance expenses, clothes (when on sale), etc. My reply to the no date/no marry questions was simple and honest. "I can't afford it!" Talk about slackjawed responses!

"She thinks she can do better" = She thinks she *deserves* better. All women do. They all want a 6'2" tall dark handsome man who's ripped, loaded, has a great career, house and car. But they never think about what in turn *she* will bring to the relation other than 'vagina'. Why the hell would a handsome lean tall intelligent guy, loaded and ripped as fuck go for some used up 40-year-old thot when he's bathing in far younger and higher quality pussy? But she probably did have a nice alpha male guy in her hey day 20 years ago and because of that now she can't settle for a nice guy. Because she deserves 'better', right? Let's hope she has some nice cats.

Women have a rude awakening coming around the age of 30-35 when they realize their sexual market value has evaporated and they have multiple children to take care of alone

Hmm I'm trying to tell my brother he doesn't have to get married to his girlfriend just because they've been with each other for 6 years. Weddings are expensive and they each make 40,000 a year and still have crushing student loan debt for going to a private uni where they met. They also studied what they at least admit, were worthless degrees and the gf is a teacher. My bro still lives with a roommate for crying out loud... granted cost of living in the area is cheap. I just hope for their sakes she stays on birth control and they don't have kids anytime soon...if ever. The annoying part is now I'll have to waste time flying up to another state just to be at the wedding *sigh*

It can be a real pain sometimes being on ones own. On the other hand I've seen how miserable some people are married, and all the b.s. women bring with them. Everything comes with a price. Been on my own for 36 years now, for one reason or another. Just the way it is. Final Note: nothing you do in life matters imo, have fun, learn to live with yourself.
We need to talk about your starving grandchildren.
