The fact that it takes filters ALONE makes it amazing. Rectilinear, full frame, autofocusing, full frame, and near-macro are all just cherries on top lol.

What an amazing lens! 10mm FF! Amazing that you are still in focus with your nose almost touching the hood. Of course, at that distance you look like a caricature of yourself. This lens should definitely be nominated for the Toneh Awards.

I have a Sigma 10-20mm f.4 lens. Zoomed out on my Canon 5D, it could photograph an entire black hole from the event horizon. Super wide angle lenses are a lot of fun.

As a fellow Canadian male troubled with insecurity that I too mask with self-deprecation, I object to your perfect fingernails. After seeing them around minute two, I was completely incapable of doing anything else during the rest of your comprehensive review to but hope, but not hope, to see if you maybe cut one of them slightly off angle. It was only your tired, cliché "Asian woman with TTC transfer" shot that made me more disappointed. It's staggering that you got one of these lenses to review before official release. Kudos to Laowa for taking a chance.

I've had the Laowa 12mm 2.8 and I loved it. My other lenses got broke and I couldn't buy new ones so actually had it quite a while as my standard lens. And I was seriously happpy with it. So I can';t imagine how this 10mm will be. Laowa knows how to make lenses.

I just picked up the RF 10-20 recently and I have gotta say, shooting at 10mm is quite something. Considering the Canon lens weighs less than 100 grams more and packs in zoom, super fast AF, and image stabilization, I would say we are truly in the era of phenomenal wide angle lenses. It does cost three times as much as the Laowa though haha. For people who previously used the 11-24, it is an excellent upgrade, but its not the most accessible lens.

Are you telling me Fuji didn't send you an X100VI? I was expecting a first impressions video? LOL! That's crazy wide, but the real estate photographers will love it. I liked it for the slow motion street crossing shot. Also looks great in general for vlogging. But, I like seeing the scenery where your walking.

I got the Laowa 10mm f2.0 zero distortion for my bmpcc OG and I have to say it is PERFECT for it. It cuts off exactly the bit that makes the image look like Counterstrike v1.0 and leaves you with just enough frame per toneh that it almost looks like it was filmed with a bigger sensor. Love that thing.

I think you found (at least for the moment) close to the perfect lens for what you do. It's crazy the lens can keep the vertical lines straight for a 10mm, like it does as long as your not that close. This is one of your most interesting videos. Too bad you didn't get Tony Ns' face.

If you are looking for a wide lens to VLog with get the E 10-18mm f/4 OSS APS-C (15-27mm) that works in full frame mode 12mm to 18mm (18mm if you remove the light shield in the back) so you have 12mm to 27mm just assign a button for APS-C to Full Frame. small even also has threads for a filter.

Looks like a nice lens, but I have a Fuji XH2s and I don't think they make it for that platform yet. I have a 10mm F2.0 Viltrox (manual focus) that fits my XH2s. the Viltrox is also rectilinear, and it gives the same kind of image as this Lawoa.

I love goofy wide, and goofy close. Ultrawides make the foreground the subject so it's fun. Laowa is good at those things lok, I'm interested knowing Laowa has this AF one now. The laowa I have is manual and a pain sometimes. That one is sharp to the corner, however the transition to out of focus gets this stretch blur stuff that makes it look like the corners are unsharp with the plane of focus being very curved. I wonder if they've improved that.

I love this, I've been thinking about ultra widespread for a while now, precisely for architectural shots 17mm os the widest I jave but it os a fisheye and not my favorite. Distortion free or rectilinear widespread have been ony list, TT Artosans has a 9mm and Laowa has this 10 and a 12. I'm impressed that it auto focusses. I'm guessing no offering for RF MOUNT . As for the pidgeon footage you're in search of there is a huge flock that feeds in the parking lot at V.P and Danforth. If you feed them they will come.

Kasey, you should make a video about the mistake people make generalizing camera systems. For instance, just because the Canon R7 is Canon, it doesn’t mean that it is on the same league as the C70. Similarly, the Z30 cannot be compared to the Z8. It just bothers me sometimes when people write a blog or post a video about switching systems jumping from for example the Sony a6400 to Canon R5C thinking that that’s equal, saying “Oh Canon is just better” lol
