I've suffered ptsd from an incident like this. 32 years ago I smacked my head on a frozen lake. I was bleeding out of my ear also. I suffered a skull fracture and ended up in the hospital for two weeks on interveneous. I have a permanent hearing loss in my left ear. Everything was pretty fuzzy for me too. I hope you recover well. My heart goes out to you.

I used to own a skatepark in Athens, GA. We were helmet karens and thank god we never had a kid with a head injury. Plenty of broken wrists, ankles and legs... Shutting down the park was like losing a baby but not seeing any more gnarly injuries from falls made up for it. Not gonna beat you up about not wearing a helmet bc really this could happen on a hiking trail. It just reaffirms how precious life is and makes you appreciate things more. Super glad you're okay and on the mend!! Looking forward to seeing more of your content and seeing y'all out there on the road!

Always good to wear a helmet in adventure sports especially when trying new things! I crashed a jump on a mountain bike but fortunately wearing a full helmet which I cracked on the ground. It saved any broken bones, teeth and face but I still got taken to a hospital by a friend and then in an ambulance for a scan at another one. They asked me all the questions which I couldn't answer just to test my short term memory. I couldn't remember the ambulance lady's name each time she told me for the 1st 30-60 mins. Somehow by the time I had my short term memory back I didn't even have a headache.

Yeah a helmet is going to be a must moving forward. Julies also working on learning how to fall less like a bowling pin. Thankfully she's pretty much fully recovered at this point, but it was definitely a rough go for awhile.

I just found your channel recently, it’s great. I hope her recovery went and is going very well. I had a concussion from getting rear ended in a car accident. It took me a year to get over all of the symptoms. I can’t imagine how long Julie’s accident will take to get over, but hopefully quickly.

Wow that is scary to see how fast things can change; one minute you're having a fun day and the next you're at the hospital. I'm soo glad Julie is doing okay and getting better. It is precious to see how much Ben cares for you, Julie. ♥️ We will all be here waiting for you when you upload next. P.S. If you do keep the kitten, don't forget to build in a litter box for the van! And an exhaust fan for the smells. And a place to hide the cat food so the doggies don't steal it! I've got 2 cats in my van (no doggies) and the litter box is not bad at all - just keep it clean! Highly recommend pine pellets or paper bedding instead of rock litter!

I did that in my previous van for my cat Archer. I had no smell issues with the litter box and had a little trap door to the garage area where it was kept. If we keep him we will most likely come up with a similar configuration.

Not gonna lie, the title of the video had my heart racing. That's some scary shit! I'm very relieved to see Julie is recovering. She adds a super cool dynamic to the channel and, although I'd watch no matter what, I really like the synergy you two have. I've said several times in my comments that I cannot understand why DCMV hasn't exploded.
