Good craic. I moved back close to home and now fish the river I fished when I was a kid. Banks are totally overgrown now and it's hard to fish in most places but full of brown trout. I am mostly after sea trout but the water is low and it's early so I always have a bibio too to tempt the browns. I catch away at them, they are small but it's good fun and good practice. You can learn a lot fishing in these small rivers. Thanks for the vid.

That’s it exactly, I only fish the small rivers when it’s too windy to get out on the Lough, terrible wind here the last few weeks unfortunately!

@@senanstanleyfishing awe pity,would have been a great catch.I was talking to 2 Belgian lads on wed,they were over pike fishing on the lake..met them around 2pm,they were in for lunch,and had no luck at all.Temp of water too high I'd say.

Loving the videos. It makes me laugh how easy you make it look, most of the time you have a fish on within a cast or two! Have you used the Tassie devil lure? I've had perch go crazy for them on the river suir

Ah a lot of the videos are highlights of the session, the fish can be tricky at the best of times 😁 Haven’t used the tassies on the river, only on the lake, the river here is quite shallow, they would work otherwise for sure 😁👌 love trolling them on the lake, one of the best lures ever made!

@@senanstanleyfishing Thanks for the reply. I'm only getting back into fishing after about 6 years so your videos are definitely helping me out. On another one of your videos, I asked why my lure likes to skim across/pull up from the surface of the water. Why would that be?

It could be because you’re casting downstream and pulling the lure up into the current, that would raise it in the water because of the angle of the rod to the lure. Maybe try casting upstream, and holding your rod tip down to the water when retrieving the lure, reeling faster than the current, these trout are fast! ☺️👌👌

Great fishing sessions. Some amount of trout... Un belivelable. Doing a great job💪.really great stuff.must get a pair waiders. Is it better cast against the flow or into the flow...some dive baits dive better against the flow of water...???

Thanks terry! Hopefully the river gets some bigger trout soon after the rain! I always work upstream, bringing the lure into the fishes face, they either react or miss the meal! 👌 Casting downstream works also but you’re pulling the lure away from the fish, it’s not as enticing for them

Fantastic area for them, it’s a shame there’s no 2lb+ fish on this stretch until later in the year, crazy the amount of smaller trout but no big ones.

Thanks dude. The best way to find these small places is google maps, try around the bottom is mountains, there’s always wild streams that hold trout.

What time of the day do ya think trout react best evening or morning ?

For lure fishing I don’t think it’s too important, fly fishing definitely evening is best I find when the water temp is warmed up
