Silver's Rayleigh is one of the most Iconic mentors in all of anime. He taught Luffy an entire new power system in Haki, but before any of that, he led a full life on the Roger Pirates, he found the one piece, and settled down. He found everything the world had to offer, but also lost everything he had, but was able to find a group of people to spend his remaining time with and lead a second life.

After Roger left his former pirate crew he and Rayleigh never met again. Roger saying " I won't die partner" brought Rayleigh to tears. In the manga you can even see Rayleigh turn away when the crew is bidding Roger farewell as he couldn't bear to see him leave never to return.

Rayleigh is definitely my favorite old character. Power wise I always defend him in the community 😅.. i Always argued how he wss top 5 in his era by the time Roger died. The short anime scene where Roger said goodbye and his oldest friend Rayleigh started crying definitely gets me into my feelings 😢. I feel there's two potential deaths that can beat Whitebeard by epicness. Either Garp or Rayleigh. Sidenote: I always laugh when I think about how the Marines know where Rayleigh lives but they probably think *Yea I'm good on that* 😅. Akainu and the Marines probably hoping he just dies by alcohol poisoning or something 😂
