It was either when the kids being eaten, ponzu gets shot, or pokkle gets probed. Not only are the Squadron Leaders and Captains starting to awaken Nen, the Royal Guard was born with it... Presumably it means the Queen consumed some of the Hunters who arrived before Pokkle before she birthed them.

I don't think so. My headcanon is that to give birth to the king and royal guards the queen eats more people. Like for example, she eats 5 people for normal soldiers, 10 people for squadron commanders, and like 50 or more for the king and royal guards. It's like the energy of 50 humans are compressed into one being, that is why the king and royal guards born with nen and have so much aura, potential, are more clever and don't have memories of their pasts, because they are a mix of various humans. At least this is my headcanon

Pokkle's head was chopped open. They didn't censor it in the manga, but if that isn't what happened they wouldn't have bothered censoring it in the anime. The dragonfly guy was, in fact, a dragonfly. Neferpitou read about human brain construction, where memories are kept, etc. They literally showed this. That's how she knew what to stimulate to get information. Pokkle is definitely dead now.

My first time watching this anime I was having the same reaction lol I was gettin so frustrated that the ants were just being born and are intelligent and incredibly strong but that double when pitou was born. On top of that being born with Nen and is a specialist class. BUT!!! It’s easy to over look that these are magical beast and have unique genes and abilities that make them stronger and smarter than the average human. Also wanted to point out that they aren’t “just born” in the sense like human. They develop within the egg sack and they hatch at there highest stage of growth unlike humans who grow after we are born. That’s why they are already intelligent and super strong. Imagine, having the capability of understanding and physical strength that you have now, and then revert back to a infant. Your growth and potential would be off the charts lol that is how the chimaera ants are when they are born.

18:00 Yep, his skull was open in the manga. There is still a lot of stuff cut in the anime, like when you first see the butcher, he's holding a bucket with limbs sticking out of it or him immediately chopping up Pokkle after Neferpitou is done with him. If you watch the preview at the end of this episode, one of the lines says to wake up because it's 10:50 o'clock. That's because these episodes were *still* shown at 10:55 am on Sunday mornings when it originally aired in Japan, believe it or not! The first episode to switch to the 1:29 am Wednesday timeslot was 99.

And this is why the hunter exam is so important, Pokkle was decently skilled but if not for Killua just giving up out of boredom and then killing the old kunfu dude, Pokkle would have climb the loser bracket all the way to the top and most likely failed.

Even if he didn't Leorio wasn't even truly trying to be a hunter, he just wanted money for med school so being above him really doesn't qualify you, but the potential that you are below absolutely disqualifies you.

This was filler again, just like the roll when Gon and Killua first met Kite. 13:30 is when it catches up with the material from the manga, which explains why Hagya's group suddenly end up on a hill overlooking them when they were just in front of them before. The only part from the manga was Hagya's reminiscence from when he was still a lion. 14:00 Not saying it's realistic but again, Neferpitou getting born with clothes on is filler material because it wasn't shown in the manga. So in reality, Neferpitou could have gotten them before. 18:08 This would have been a good question in the manga, where it wasn't explained. I like to criticise the filler material but there are also good ones, even if they are few and far between, like Neferpitou reading up on brain behaviour in this episode, which Samantha must have missed. Also, Neferpitou plucking off the antennae from the other bug was a good filler.

OK I’m gonna address the elephant in the room, so you guys are confused for the rest of this arc Pitou’s gender is different in different iterations of HxH. In the manga, she’s actually a boy. On the wiki, it says she doesn’t have a gender. In the anime, they clearly make her with bust and a female figure, and the data book also says she’s a female. So another words Pitou is literally whatever you want her to be. The New World review addresses this and he says the same thing.

She's not a necessarily boy in the original manga (in Japanese), but she uses "boku" to refer to herself which is typically how boys speak but tomboy:ish girls use it to. The anime made her look more feminine but various translations still give her either masculine (him) or neutral (them, "it") based on she speaks. So her gender is ambiguous although the fandom has settled on her most likely being a girl in the anime based on her appearance. The databook isn't really considered canon as it wasn't created by Togashi and has some incorrect info other areas.
