Octane is detonation resistance. Higher octane fuel does not increase power unless you advance the timing, the myth that higher octane=more horsepower stems from some sports car’s ability to retard the timing to reduce the chance of pinging, or detonating the fuel too soon so that it doesn’t damage the engine. Retarded timing means less power, so when they put premium in their car it basically unlocks the full power that it has always had. Racing gas will only help if your bike/car is tuned to use it, just like E85.

Aaron... just took our Apollo 125 RFZ X18 and Apollo 125 RFZ Open on a 60 mile trail ride in WI. Was a BLAST!! Thanks for the videos to help get them dialed in. I ended up being the hero on the trail because I brought tools! Question... for long trail rides, the seat is not very comfortable. Now sure if my suspension can be softened up... but also, have you ever thought of a seat cushion hack? Seen some people carve out the existing foam for something softer. Considering it and thought I'd ask. Keep up the great videos and ride safe!

Hey tim! Glad you enjoyed your ride and that i could be of help!! Sure glad you were the smart one to bring some tools along for the ride. Can really make or break a day! As for the seat situation i feel your pain... literally... lol Ive started using a pair of padded riding pants and those have helped me ride longer without as much pain. Without it , after 30 minutes your ass is numb. With it, i can usually do 2-3 hours before it starts getting sore. Ive definitely looked into making my own custom seat, if i was to make a video on it id want to make sure it looks nice and done correctly and wont come apart in a month or two

@@AaronsEnduro ok i have a couple. 1: i ride through trails fast, corners, small jumps (gearing up and down alot). I also use the road a decent amount to go to my cousins (they are backroads with really long straight aways). If I choose to have more top speed how bad will the acceleration get and vice versa. 2: are most 125 pit bike stock sprockets the same size? (Counting my teeth tmrw, any other tips for finding the right sprocket size will be appreciated) 3: my air filter has a hole in the top and i cant find any air filters with the same hole (not a broke hole, i plug this little cube thing into it). Sorry for so much, I cant find info on my bike anywhere, no pictures on Google of it, no youtube videos. Starting to think im the only one with this bike lol. Anyway any help is appreciated, since i been progressing on this bike ive felt the need to have more power/speed and doing these things until i save up for a kx or crf will be great in the meantime.
@AaronsEnduro3 жыл бұрын
Great questions! 1. The taller gearing you get the less acceleration you’ll gain. If you’re running the larger 17/14” wheelset id say stick to a 15tooth sprocket for the best balence of acceleration and top speed. If you have the smaller 12/14” wheelset id grab a 16 tooth sprocket (i will be making an entire video on sprocket choice) 2. Generally speaking most 125’s come with a 14 tooth sprocket. Are they all the exact same ( almost) The only difference between bikes are going to he the chain pitch (you either have 420, or 428 pitch) so you need the sprocket to match your chain ajd rear sprocket. Pretty sure 99% of china bikes are a 17mm spline for the sprocket. 3. That tube that used to go the stock air filter should be removed. Take the tube that comes from the engine (DO NOT PLUG IT) and vent to the the ground. That tube is ment to vent crankcase pressure. If you block that tube you will blow your piston rings.
@G.fullyy3 жыл бұрын
