As an owner of a Vizsla, I'd like to mention that the average Vizsla needs at least 1 hour of rigorous exercise daily (if not more), and they frequently get the zoomies. Plus, they are not very considerate of people's boundaries when they are active. If my dog was the size of Clifford, I do believe she could level Manhattan in about 20 minutes.

i am so conflicted right now, I always thought that a giant red dog was a possibility as I watched this show instead of attending science classes, since that time I have spent years looking at every dog I have been able to find and imagining at what point in their life cycle, do they turn red and grow a few stories taller. this video has changed my life completely and shifted my views of the world to points I did not think were possible. you have opened my third eye to see that Clifford is no more likely to walk among us than Barney the dinosaur. I don't know how long it will take me to get over this astonishment I have felt, I can safely say that my life has been shrouded in a a big lie that will never cease to haunt me. therealchopo, I don't know if I should thank or curse you for this newfound knowledge you have bestowed upon me, in the hour this video has been up I have re-watched it as many times as possible trying to find holes, holes that don't exist. I would like to take a moment to breath and be thankful that Big Chungus is still something that is real and I can spend the rest of my life seeking. as I can no longer do that for a dog that is bigger than my house and the same shade of red as I am now, finding out this information.

Ok, after giving some thought to the "One Question", I've come up with two possibilities: 1: There's an area in either the local sewage plant or landfill specifically made for when Clifford does his business. 2: He just goes in the ocean. I mean, fish do it all the time and the ocean hasn't changed because of it.

One issue with possibility 2: Dogs are not fish. Yes, fish go straight in the water they swim in... but fish have very different diets from dogs, and there are animals in the ocean that have evolved to feed on the waste fish produce that prevents it from reaching dangerous levels of filthy. Dogs however do not have very sanitary poop. Most parks have rules that you have to clean up your dog's poop if they do their business on the park grounds, because dog poop can often be harmful to those environments if not properly disposed of. Specifically, the bacteria and germs within the poop can have lasting negative effects on living creatures in the area (humans included).

Biologically speaking, traditional canid biomechanics would not be able to support Clifford at his size. You would need to drastically change his anatomy to have him be able to be that large. The largest mammals like elephants and giraffes have specialized anatomies to help them grow large.
