When I was younger, I used to not be myself at work, church or school because I felt that people were always judging me and watching my every move, and I cared about other people's opinions about me. Now that I am older, I stopped caring what other people thought and say about me and I am true to myself because life is way too short to be worrying and caring about what other people have to say about you and I wasn't put on this earth to entertain or please people.

Adrienne, no.

I have an issue with this. Even with interviews. I feel as if we're focused on what your look like, sound like, wear, etc than what you know. Too much emphasis is placed on appearance rather than the who you are as an individual. I'm over the subject. I've chosen to be the good rebell where I'm gonna be my authentic self, with or without approval, even during interviews. I'm gonna speak from my heart. I'm tired of the statement "fake it" to make it."How come we can never be ourselves? If you goof ard at work, even a lil or show any sense of humor, you're considered "unprofessional." If you express yourself, you're again being "unprofessional." Oh dare to laugh at the company's meeting, you the worse." All eye balls on you. Wait?" what? You guys never laugh? Everything has come down to a silly labeled nowadays. Authenticity is the real value of being human.

Not many of us is ourself in the workforce. We are expected to be professional by showing respect, using proper language, dress appropriate and helping our co-workers. Of course we should be like that all the time but not many of us go home and act like that.

I am definitely like Tamar on this one... I am a foodie... I LOOOOVE EATING and I am always self-conscious when eating in front of people because I know they’re judging me... I do have quiet an appetite and yes, I don’t eat the same amount of portions in front of certain people and yes, when no one else wants desert but me, I pretend not to want it either pretexting that I am full... when actually I am definitely not!!!

I have been on a TAMAR watching binge today. :( So disappointed in that producer's reasoning for firing her.

Yes, indeed. However, so many peopel throwing shade on her. I liked ...actually LOVED her personality. And she was more "real" than anyone...even in her faith. She was "REAL"...period.

Missblessed Godrememberme Do you think they will replace her? This will be very interesting. They blame her as the reason why they couldnt get more A-listers on the show....I disagree.

Loni is me. Like its work they ain't your friends I dont need you to be yourself at work. If you needy or touchy dont do it. It's a job we all are just trying to get through the day and leave. Be friendly but like ..... I dont need your life story or to be besties

I didn't realize it till co-workers ask: why do you shake with your left hand..( I'm not naturally left handed) then I realized, when I go to work. it is as if my brain must have a switch, for when I am working and social. it's pretty strange

Watching this now...makes you wonder who's their 'real' selves on this show

Thank Goodness they had Lonnie to bring the focus back to the original topic

I find this topic hilariously ironic since they just kicked Tamar off the show for "being her authentic self."

Ain’t nobody got time for that! Takes too much energy. Just be yourself & if you can’t be kind, just be polite or don’t say anything.
