If I had to give up something out of chocolate, alcohol, and sex, it will be alcohol. I don't drink alcohol at all so this will be a no brainer for me. When it comes to sex, I am a virgin and I am waiting until marriage to have sex. I can never give up chocolate, I love me some chocolate.

The point of lent is to give up something that you find hard to give up .. In your case Chocolate. I have done the Daniel Fast and fasted in general. Just because you might crave whatever you're fasting from doesn't mean it's defeating the purpose. That is part of the purpose. The temptation is there, but you depend on God to overcome so that you can successfully complete the fast.

Because my heart wasnt in it and because all I focused on was when the fast would end and what I was gonna eat to celebrate, I got nothing...I heard nothing. That's all I meant in regard to craving. I did the Daniel fast last year and am doing it again this year starting today as my 21 days leading up to Easter. It was one of THE hardest things I ever did but once I got past the first week and kept up with it, it was one of the most rewarding things I ever accomplished. It was such a spiritual renewal. Plus it was easy to eat healthier after it was over. I'm looking forward to it this year.

For those who also don't really know: Lent is a period of fasting and/or moderation so that one can remind themselves of the value of repenting (though the meaning has been slightly changed/altered over the years). It's mostly observed by Catholics and some Protestants, but nowadays there are many Christians who partake in Lent as well

ive done the daniel fast before and it's honestly not that hard but mainly cos it's temporary haha. Either way if God calls you to do it, you should because it's really helpful in healing whatever is going on in your season.

I'm 24 and haven't had a drop of alcohol since I was 19. I don't understand the appeal anymore. It was fun when I was young and partying but it also led to stupid stuff happening and drama. If I want to relax, I smoke a bowl. It's easier on my body and the sex is so much better high than drunk and there's no hangover. I only drink coffee when I absolutely need it so really, of those 4 things, from easiest to hardest to give up it'd be: alcohol, caffeine, chocolate and sex. And I honestly could not give up sex.

I love them all I really really do! And this is my favorite show but I was getting a little annoyed. Hahaha lent is 40 days leading up to Easter Sunday. Chocolate has caffeine, not coffee... And lent is for anyone who is Christian though it is far more popular in the Catholic Church. I wish they did look into stuff before they talked about so someone could have some knowledge of the topic. But it was still a great girl chat nonetheless! They all really gelled together and were nice and respectful towards each other so it was nice to see that!

As an asexual, this is easy for me. Order I'd give up: 1.) Alcohol - don't want anything to do with it. Buh-bye! 2.) Correction Tamera(*InPoliteAndRespectfulTone*)...there typically isn't caffeine in chocolate(just SOME- if they are coffee flavoured). The addictive ingredient in chocolate is actually SUGAR. It's one of the most overlooked addictive "substance" lol

I'm one of the weird ones that actually waited til the legal drinking age the start having alcohol and I have to say I really can't handle anything too strong... I drink for the taste not the effect so 5% sweet wines or fruity mixed drinks are great but I'll be nursing it alllllll nightttttt and because I went so long without drinking, I don't do it often, in fact it's rare that I do it at all.. I would call myself a social drinker but tbh I don't socialize in bars... maybe if I'm having dinner with a friend and I see a wine I like (which is rare!) but I could EASILYYYY give that up... however chocolate is my weakness and sometimes a good dessert can be almost as satisfying as sex lol I would give up alcohol in a heartbeat! I unwind with sweet treats, music, tv, sex, and many other things that aren't poison for my body!

My aunt does the Daniel fast every single year for lent. No meat, bread/ yeast, juice, or sugar, definitely no packaged foods...only veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds, and water. I did it one year for three weeks, and it's not as hard as you think after the first week.

My friends, knowing about my sacrifice, started eating them and making moaning sounds. (I am a Catholic) We give up, sacrifice, something for Lent (which is 40 days from Ash Wednesday, the day after MardiGras until Easter Sunday) because during those 40 days Jesus walked the desert with no food and water to go be sacrificed for us. So we "sacrifice" something as a remembrance of what he did for us. It's usually like food, or TV or something.
