Jennifer Kretschman, a Sacramento school district social worker, was wrapping up her workday when she received a sudden, frantic call from her 17-year-old daughter. Kretschman's daughter informed her that a black SUV with tinted windows was following her and her stepfather, Kretschman's fiancée, Jacob Palkovic, on their drive home from school. Kretschman instructed her daughter and Palkovic to come meet her at her workplace, but it was too late. Shortly after the call ended, the unmarked SUV swerved in front of Palkovic's car. Armed men poured out of the vehicle and pointed their guns at Palkovic and his stepdaughter. Tearing the two family members out of the car, the men failed to announce themselves as members of the Sacramento Sheriff's Office's Gang Suppression Unit. Taya Graham and Stephen Janis of the Police Accountability Report uncover why her family was arrested and explore the myriad problems that come from specialized police units and the police culture that makes them so dangerous.

i wonder what cops are going to do, when people rise up and stop tolerating Bad policing . They seem to forget there is more us than there is of them. i seem to remember, a True story of some G.I's coming back from workd war 2 and found out their town cops, and sheriff where corrupt . the cops hide out in the town hall it was a gun battle between citizens and the corrupt cops .the G.I.s took explosives and used them to force the corrupt cops ect out of the building . it worked, then they got rid of all the bad cops . that simple.

those "officers" had no reason to drag the driver out of the car and throw him on the pavement, they gave him no chance to cooperate, they abused him and treated him roughly the entire time, he said he had a back injury and they continued roughly twisting his arms to cuff him. they could have cuffed him standing up which is much easier. all of them should be charged with false arrest, assault, official misconduct, even the district attorney said the officers behaved insanely, so they should have been charged and fired and prevented from working in law enforcement. the officers act like people have no rights, and think they can do anything they want, they are cruel officers and need to go...

Absolutely. Way over the line, beyond thugs. Just another street gang dying to throw their weight around. No probable cause to pull her daughter from the car so no charge of resisting arrest can ensue nor will the false charge stick. And the cop has the nerve to sarcastically ask her if she is going to tell him how to do his job when he'll yes... somebody needs too. And BTW, this is the Sacramento Gang Suppression Unit...how ironic. There is no difference between them and the gangs they suppress.

@@anonymoususer13666the officer did not even tell the driver what he was charged with. The driver did cooperate, but they didn’t care. They were causing him physical pain because they were angry already that he did not pull over because they were too stupid to realize they looked like a freaking gang which was their whole intent! I think those cops must be on steroids or something. They pulled this guy over just because they didn’t like the look of him, they already judged him, and their attitude was atrocious. I’ve seen a lot of videos were good. Cops are overly patient with people who are less than cooperative, this was not the situation in this video. The wife admitted she was upset and didn’t approach things well but they had no right to search her car without permission and have it towed. This is definitely a lawsuit and had these not been cops. They would certainly be in jail. There’s probably good chance they’ll lose their job, but I doubt they’ll be prosecuted for their crime.

Why does this sound like it's less likely profiling, and that he has had past issues with gangs or being associated with gangs. They need to sue the crap out of those cops. Even if they had their lights on for seven miles, which I don't believe they did, there was no justification for those cops to drag a man and his daughter out of their car with guns drawn for a traffic-stop. The reason I don't believe the cops had their lights on was because the husband called his wife because he was being followed by someone, couldn't tell who they were, and she told him to come to the school. What the cops claimed doesn't make sense, and their story changed regarding how far he'd driven while they supposedly had their lights on. Also, the fact that they weren't charged with possession of drugs when the cops claimed on body-cams that they found drugs while they were searching needs to be explained. What happened was NOT police protecting their community. What happened was police assaulting members of the community over a matter of confusion about who they were and why they were following members of the community. If they were stopping the man for a traffic violation, then it's very telling that no traffic violation was included in the charges. None of this adds up and all I saw was cops acting like street thugs with no level of professionalism displayed.

@DowJonesDave
@DowJonesDave Ай бұрын
Example: "Your honor, the cops all turned their cameras off at the same time. This implies conspiratorial conciousness of guilt. Or at the very least, tampering with evidence to obstruct justice by said tampering. Turning off the cameras deprives the state and defendant of evidence that may have been recorded, and is tantamount to deleting evidentiary footage. In fact there is no difference between ending a recording and deleting recorded footage. There is also the matter of who owns the recordings. Destruction of state property is a crime. Purposely suppressing evidence is also an offense, unless it was suppressed by a sitting judge. Turning body cams off suppresses evidence." I would add an argument that the courts must make a decision regarding deleting footage, or purposely (willfully) de-activating said cameras while discussing the case. New (in the sense of the law) technology requires updating existing law to bring it up to date.

Guess why people absolutely hate the police, no matter where in the USA. Yep. You guessed it. It's called qualified immunity. And it's a relic from the time when Apartheid was still a thing in the USA.

Contra Costa County, California recently paid 8.4 million dollars for the false arrest of a mother and her daughter as they waited in the parking lot of a Starbucks for it to open. This case needs a judgment and payment much larger than 8.4 million dollars.

Unmarked car should not be able to pull traffic violations over . Ghost letters should be outlawed. You should have to have a fully marked police car if you're pulling cars over.

If the girl wasn't the driver what were they arresting her for ??????? They have to have a reason for an arrest before you can resist arrest which is a secondary offense!!!!!!!

I echo your comment because I'm wondering the same thing. You'd think common sense would dictate a reason for arrest before you can resist arrest. Who knew? Sadly, this isn't the first time I've seen someone "resist" being arrested before actually being arrested.

in the supervisor's words "...she refused to get out of the car..." the guy could have put on his emergency flashers and then called the police to check if he was being pulled over, saving everyone the trouble.

@royalripoff7228 Dpoken loke strue blur sympathizet who would do the same with the same lies to push false charges on innocent people just because of the officers and their unchecked power tripping ways where they know they in the end will face no meaningful repercussions for their illegal and immoral acts carried out on law abiding cotizens who are just trying to live their lives without being harassed by tyrannical thugs with tin stars and a legal system that turn a blind eye to their constitutionally illegal activity where they totally disregard citizens constitutionally protected rights without just cause. All those thugs involved in this scenario should be fired and prosecuted for not upholding the rights of those they were instead illegally arresting and lying about to justify their assault and battery.

It was the so called cops that are supposed to know what they are and are not allowed to do, as long as they are public servants that work for the people, They Should Know The Constitution and that they Supposedly took an Oath To Uphold, Everything they did went against it and their (all of our rights) INTENTIONALLY, Because they have monthly quotas to meet to get their department it's funding so they can keep violating people's rights to fish for a crime, they did it all backwards and without adequate explanation to their VICTIMS!!

Cops are trained to say, " Don't resist or stop resisting. You could be dead or passed out and they'll say it in order to tack on another charge. Cops are taught its okay to be bad if its for the better good or their opinion of it.
