Asturias did become Spain. The only difference between the Kingdom of Asturias and Leon is moving the capital, and then Leon became Castille through a mix of union and splitting off multiple times with Portugal becoming its own country..

Kingdom of Asturias broke into three kingdoms, Galicia, Leon and Castille. Galicia was quickly curbstomped by Leon then Leon was invaded by Castille and conquered. Then the King of Castille died and then it all fell apart again.

@@Brakiros actually, as far as im aware, during the spanish crisis of 1066 (which is what i believe youre talkinga bout), alfonso of leon imprisoned garcia of galicia and inherited it, then sancho of castille invaded leon but alfonso was still alive so when sancho died a year later, alfonso inherited all of spain and thats how we got Leon-Castille

I have several thousand hours and I’ve never seen the contest PU prompt. I’ve been in several succession wars as defender but I’ve never seen the offense prompt, that’s pretty cool to know it exists. I always thought it was just an AI trigger.

Asturias was the first nation I formed the Roman Empire with. I was doing good taking over Iberia and then I got Burgundy, PUed Poland, then PUed big Denmark... and then I snowballed uncontrollably.

I think an interesting thing to do with the Ming vassals would be to release all of them, pick one to start, and then switch to another tag every 20 years until you can become Emperor of China with positive mandate growth. If the AI pulls it off before you, you lose.

Mr. Hawk, you did the right thing by full annexing Spain when you were in doubt. I'm not saying this because I'm Portuguese, it was just for the sake of satisfying the viewers and having a proper ending to this campaign. I also have a minor criticism about your videos. To me it makes no sense to do a summary at the end of every video. I watched the entire video and I still remember what you did, so when you start the summary I stop watching or just just to the very ending to see what will be the next episode's nation. But other than that, I love your videos.

You can take colonial provinces even if you dont see them, if you go to pace negotiations and the tab of the provinces you can test if one province which you selected is in the mainland or not, the lower war score provinces will likely be always colonial provinces so it's easy to test this. Also for the next video i would count as a win if you anex all the main culture provinces of the country or the region which it is normaly on if it is absorbed by someone else. Great mostache btw

I will never understand using burgher loans without immediate economic or power gains to counter the inflation. Selling crown land gives more than enough to field max force limit army (in this starting situation), which may or may not even be needed (depending on if you can sway people to support your independence w/ army size). The longer you can go without any army before declaring, the more money you'll have to cascade your power in the future. The economic drain of inflation is horrifically undervalued by players, and yet they lose more games because their economy is somehow in shambles. How to use right: to buy an institution to nab key techs to declare an advantageous war; to buy extremely profitable buildings NOW to jump start your eco growth; to field well above forcelimit temporarily; to bribe/influence nations at key moments, etc. (etc. being any major advantage that having the money gives you IMMEDIATELY, otherwise you are burning ducats. It is NOT free money - it ALL has to be paid back in full multiplied by 1.01)

Hey bro, with the trust mechanic, the AI will only break their alliance if trust is 30 or lower, if this is the case, they will do it as they get a -1000 modifier, if it’s 31+ they won’t do it. It’s good to know as you can tell if someone will dissolve the alliance before you make peace. Saw something similar happen in a video where you lost France as an ally because of this, was too lazy to comment then haha. That’s how it works though, hope that helps
