I’m actually happy *gm* wasn’t afraid to go to a larger wheel and complete the stance of their larger trucks and SUVs. Some Americans are going to nitpick the grays in Mary’s wig but many who are aware of the segment and unbiased understand what *gm* was just able to execute here and I’m genuinely impressed. I also want to point out that their production model EV products *actually look like their concepts.*

This is a combination body on frame and unibody platform of the BT1 trucks/SUV’s from GM. You’re not going to get a spare tire because of the air reservoir tank for the air suspension riding in the space for the spare tire instead.

I have a question. Whem using the regen paddle, does this use the brake pads, or does it slow the electric motors to get the redistribution of power? I test drove one and it appears to use the brake pads, but the salesperson was unable to answer the question as it brakes pretty fast using g the paddle on the steering wheel.

The paddle is 100% motor regen. All that HP in reverse is very impressive, no? My Bolt is at 105,000 miles and the brakes look new.

There are so many things that my hummer EV has that the Denali doesn’t. If they integrated everything together, it would’ve been a lot nicer truck. Also, the Hummer EV has Apple CarPlay. The sunroof without a screen is a deal killer for a lot of people.

Depending on how this one sells, GMC might release an Elevation trim at a more reasonable price. And is it really corporate greed? I mean, it IS a Denali after all. An ICE Denali Ultimate fully loaded is a few thousand short of this one, so I don't think its that unreasonable for GMC to price this truck with all its features at that price

So Ram charger is making a truck that has approximately a 150 miles all EV with a backup generator to extend 2 approximately 700 miles with a full tank of gas in a full charge. This would be an ideal pick up truck for most. What gives you the ability to be evil all the time unless you need to go further or you are not able to get to a charger for some reason. Would really like to see GMC or chevy or both make a truck like the Ram charger. The technology actually belongs to Chevy chevy made a Chevy Volt back in 2011 I believe which was an amazing vehicle that gave anywhere from 38 miles to 53 miles on a single charge with the backup generator to get you further if needed. If GMC and Chevy could come back with this technology it would be amazing and I'm sure it would have a massively huge following Remember Ram charger 150 miles all EV was a backup generator to go approximately 700 miles

Excellent review. It may seem pedantic, but with no CarPlay, no deployable running boards, and no massage seats, I feel like the creature comforts are a downgrade from my Denali ultimate. I’ve had three EVs and a lightning and really wanted this truck but will sadly pass on this for those reasons. I drove one last week and they are otherwise excellent.

This truck isn't meant to be "common" if you will. So it's pointless to expect it to be priced as such. Just look at it. EV, leather seats, SuperCruise, anything you could want. This isn't selling new for less than 100k. It's also the second highest trim that GMC offers. If you take an ICE Sierra Denali Ultimate fully loaded its gonna be 96k. Maybe down the line gmc will offer an Elevation trim around 70k but don't expect it from a top trim luxury truck

No panoroof. To bright in Southern climates and to hot. Midgate is silly you can bring stuff or people? It needs roof racks or you install bed racks for long items. Midgate might make sense for contractors in more than a decade when they can afford this. This is why 2 bed sizes exist; a long bed is a better option. Its going to be a great platform in 6 years when they dont have to change it for the next refesh. As well when batteries have 33% more change and are 33% lighter so they are 50% cheaper. My only ask is have adaptive suspension and a heads up display on the elevation. As well more sidewall on tire. Its a truck you run over curbs and rocks; and when on the freeway 60% of the time give the passengers a cushion.

Until now, generalists dont get the difference between Silverado and GMC,. Silverado is made to be rugged, that's why it's not that upscale like the GMC which is more soft lux. that's why they drive differently, the Silverado is faster than the GMC because it is lighter on its feet and simpler, that's why u have the normal Silverado and the Lux which is heavier than the GMC, but u can say what u want I find the Silverado better looking than the GMC, it's more sleeker sharper looking,

For people complaining about the price, go look at gas Denali prices! The 6.2 gas engine needs premium fuel and gets 13 miles per gallon. The future is electric. The tax incentives help with the transition. How about we get rid of the oil industry tax incentives? They made billions in profits and don’t need the incentives. Nobody is fighting that fight, absolutely corporate greed and corrupt politics. GM give us apple car play. It’s ridiculous that gas vehicles have it but not EVs.

Please rent it for 2 weeks before purchasing it, if you can. After purchasing it 2 weeks back, I won't recommend it. For $114K, out the door , it is not worth it. Maybe good for Show Off.. . Not a real 4X4 truck for Off Road use , No luxury features as massager seats / 3rd Grade Bose Audio .. missing many features than many Kia / Hyundai offers. GM is making too much Profits on this one for sure.

BIG RANGE MEANS HUGE BATTERY PACK WHICH MEANS HOURS CHARGING TIME. as example my ev9 takes TWICE as long to charge versus a ev6 or Ioniq 5 I also have. Nobody mentions this in reviews because the don’t own them and experience them.

Well they don't mention that because it is no different than fueling a larger gas tank. It will take more time but you get more range from it. This means if you charge for an hour on a smaller battery you will get the same range put in as the bigger battery. You can stop your charge at any time to mimic the smaller battery and still get the same range. All a bigger battery does is allow you to go further. For example if this truck had a 100 kWh battery and took 8 hours to charge to get a range of 230 miles. Then if you doubled the pack size to 200 kWh you could still stop the charge at 8 hours and you would still get 230 miles of range but if you kept charging you just get more range. Also when it comes to DC fast charging larger packs can get much more range in a shorter period of time because they can hold the high current much longer than a smaller battery pack.
