Thank you for creating a song that tells girls it's okay to NOT be perfect! How have you all gained confidence in your music and self-image that has brought you to the place you are today?
@TheRegrettes8 жыл бұрын
Lydia - I’m surrounded by so many inspiring and confident people now and that’s really helped me grow individually. The more recognition I get for my music the more I want to get better and keep growing as a writer and more importantly as a woman. Sage - Most of my confidence comes from faking it until I believe I’ve become the image I portray. Once I started believing that I had self worth my music and self confidence sky rocketed and a lot of that came from being around good people and encouraging healthy relationships with not only other people but with myself. Self lvoe is a big par of confidence. Maxx - Well, I’ve been playing in front of people since I was 7 so over time I just got more confident in my playing, music and self-image. Also I just love the music I play and I feel like loving and feeling confident in what you do creates your own self image in which you feel super comfortable in. Genessa - For me, my confidence comes from doing things that I'm proud of and from surrounding myself with people who I'm proud to know. It took a lot of work, but I've learned to believe I deserve the beauty around me. It's so important to know that self love can't always come over night and sometimes it feels like it's not coming at all, but it really, really is.

I think it's so cool that my new idol is a 16 year old feminist who knows what she wants, and uses her words and music to tell it like it is. I'll be 17 in 2 months, and I don't know how to get my words out sometimes, so I write, even if I don't like sharing it. You're really empowering guys, and you have so much talent to express your ideas with. It's obvious you guys are going far, and I can't wait to stick around for the journey. I've never been this impacted by an artist since Zolita, and you guys have similar messages.

No I like her music but her feminism? "doesn't complain about anything except being called a whore and a slut" And neither does she speak out against women and girls being killed every day in ISIS countries. You know the ones who have way more to be worried about being called a slut. The girls who get killed going to school. The ones recruited into ISIS and turned into soldiers who think their fellow Muslim sisters are somehow deserving of being raped and murdered. Feminism is cancer and doesn't give a shit about women that's WHY they welcomed a leading ISIS woman onto the stage at women's march. Someone WHO has made disgusting pro comments about women and girls being murdered and raped. Chill? Where the fuck are the so called 'pro' women feminists when all that happens every day of the year? Mock me all you like. But a REAL feminist doesn't take sides. Oh look they're popular? How about they use their influence for all not when it's going to get media clicks.

@@delfs9103Oh yet another person who 'cares so much' and has such an important opinon ALL they can do is run their mouth ON KZbin or social media. In truth you don't do shit. You judge me yet what DO I DO? I've worked at a woman's shelter, started or supported campaigns to raise money for rape or cancer. Not just bitched and moaned online. Go to Iran. Live there. Then you'll see how little your problems as people REALLY ARE? Ever been arrested for wearing the WRONG clothes? Ever been beaten for SIMPLY having a opinion on your education or choice of career? I'm torn between wishing there were songs and music videos like this when I was growing up, and feeling fortunate that there wasn't so I can appreciate it even more now. I love your band name, "The Regrettes", given that you perform like you never want to have any (regrets). OK, yeah, so I guess I'm landing on "feeling fortunate" for all the hard times I went through so I know how important it is to have no regrets. This song means so much more to me that way, "it hurts so good". Thanks for such a beautiful message!!

I’ve just discovered your music and I’m really impressed with such positive message for both women and young people in general. It gives me hope that a better society it would be possible in the future. I’m a straight male in my early fourties... and I sincerely wish kids grow up listening to more of this and less of that “bitches, power and money” message of some mainstream culture. It makes a lot of people doubt themselves and waste their precious youth years unsure of who they are. Best wishes from Spain!

Some men just don't take a girl's no as a firm no. Listening to the last line made me think of the time I watched a group of guys talking back at the girls who said no to them. And one guy I knew, when I told him "no" to his "would you like to go out with me?", he followed me like a dog for months asking the same question, as if I were destined to say yes eventually. I had to leave the after school club because of that f*cking moron. I hate when these kind of 'No-means-nothing' guys don't really know that they're causing pain in the neck. They think this is some kind of a bittersweet crush that somehow didn't go well. No it isn't. It's a shitbag.
