According to Thomas Aquinas cowardice is also a part of sloth which I found fascinating since I always found it prideful. I actually think this applies to so many people, including me to an extent. I tend to get really brave when I'm online, but I'm silent irl.

Thanks for making this video. It's shown me which of the seven deadly sins I commit regularly and have done most of my life. It helped me connect the dots as to how this particular sin has contributed to other sins I've committed. I'm going to confession for my first time this week and this has really helped me to find out which sins i need to confess to. Thanks and God Bless.

Clicked very fast as this is one I think I have issues with laziness, so I think I have issues with sloth. I don't have issues with the earlier examples you've given, but I enjoy romantic asian dramas and politics etc. and it can be addictive, while there is work that needs to be done (I don't have issues with certain duties like mass or caring for family members, regardless of feelings, but more with other tasks I know should be done ...or getting into good habits/routines/sleep, on with work for a project). It is a struggle, so I get things done, but it is an uphill struggle to start getting on with things. Sadly I haven't found a easy solution, it's easy to say, but it's another thing to do it and get on with it. Easier said than done, I've been trying for weeks now, I tell myself the same things as you've mentioned here. Any other practical tips would be appreciated from people here. The only thing I've found that works ...is just get on a do it, no shortcuts or tricks, just get on with it, go go go. Sadly it hasn't worked these weeks, I haven't been able to recently, but hopefully this will change from tomorrow onwards (I've been saying this each day the last few days, but may this time be the positive change/improvement)! Good luck to me and everyone else struggling with this!

I remember reading from Peter Kreeft about the paradox of sloth producing busyness. Quote - "To have our primary need, our need for meaning denied is terrifying. This terror is so great that it must be pushed into the unconscious by *sloth* , or we would go insane. So we cover it up with busyness."

The tie-in to workaholism or any wasteful activity as an indication of sloth helped my understanding a lot! I’m now thinking of sloth as doing anything other than what is of moral quality.

Sloth, according to Damascene (De Fide Orth. ii, 14) is an oppressive sorrow, which, to wit, so weighs upon man's mind, that he wants to do nothing; thus acid things are also cold. Hence sloth implies a certain weariness of work, as appears from a gloss on Psalm 106:18, "Their soul abhorred all manner of meat," and from the definition of some who say that sloth is a "sluggishness of the mind which neglects to begin good."

Lol I'm living intentionally! (= The morning offering prayer helps me alot to focus on my daily routine(s) and goals that I aspire to. I go to mass at least 3 times a week and confession more than usual because as you mentioned before in your other videos , the spiritual attacks are real! And I also schedule my days using my phone. Spiritual books are the best! 📚 I'm currently Reading the autobiography of Padre Pio and I'm amazed at all the trials He endured during His lifetime for the salvation of souls! Oh my gosh. Sloth is probably my hardest sin I work on. I have the Holy Days scheduled in my calendar so I don't schedule anything else. And if there is something going on during the weekend, I always make sure that I go to either Saturday or Sunday mass. I've been trying to get my bedtime routine down and yup - easier said than done! LOL. Plus I cannot sit down in front of the TV unless I have all the stuff done I wanted to do, otherwise it doesn't get done. That's probably the hardest for me. This was a good video!

I definitely struggled with sloth. I procrastinate on my school work and prayer life. But going to morning mass really does help me stay focused and motivated throughout the day.
