I have been addicted to pornography since 12 years old. I'm 23 now. Since coming back to the faith, that was in January, I have been able to temper myself. For the past three months I have fallen away two times, but that is with a great interval. I went to confession immediately for that. Now, it's been a month and the residue of my addiction is attacking me again. It pops up into my head whenever I try to meditate on the Rosary, but I am tempering myself strongly. I want to take the vow of Chastity forever. I cannot do this alone, I need you guys. Pray for me.

One of the struggles I've had with modesty is the concern over what people would think and the fear of making myself look wealthy. It's like a barrier and I've struggled with not knowing how to dress to feel comftable and workaholicism for years. The biggest blessing I've had in Monroe is a community closet of free donated clothing for the community which has been great in experimenting with modesty and returning what doesn't work for me.

Sex is inextricably linked to violence like birth and death. It is a obsession and is killing off friendship which can develop compassion and humility. It requires trust which is a bug bear for trust. I like honour and loyalty which begins with a commitment and chilvery. I find those very romantic and honourable. Sexualization has done so much damage to young people and together with drug and alcohol use amplifies last and failure jump starts violence. Obsession can limit your freedom and destroy your confidence which we all lack to some extent. Glad some younger people are aware of pitfalls and dangers of sexualization of yourself and others. Be safe and protect the vulnerable.

I don’t necessarily think it is ok to avoid or stay away from those who can lead us into temptation. Yea that might sound weird, but in my opinion, To me it feels as though when we do that we are indirectly judging those people and I think the only one who can judge at the end of the day is God himself, we are not god so we should not avoid fellow human beings even if they are/seem lost in a world of temptation. Rather we should bring them closer to us and at least show compassion towards them, keep on a smile, show them that we still see them as fellow human beings, No matter how much they sin. We will never be perfect no matter how hard we try. God forgives, he can forgive them as he forgave those who tortured and killed his son on the cross. Those are just my 2 cents. I love being catholic and we all have opinions on things.

St. Paul definitely tells us to judge. Jesus even says if people do not repent, treat them as pagans and tax collectors. The difference is repentance. God only forgave those who killed Christ if they repented.

great video 💙 do you think the "burning with a passion" that Paul speaks of, which if I'm not mistaken is libido aka horniness, is a practical problem like hunger? Just as food is needed to solve hunger, sexual release is needed to solve libido. Or is libido 100% a spiritual problem, solvable by prayer alone?
@mattbaron142 жыл бұрын
If it answers your question at all I'd say the desire is like hunger, but unlike hunger it is not necessary to fulfill that desire. If we didn't need to eat food but still felt hunger, the problem would not be hunger but the desire to act on it. Or at least that's my perspective
@bds87152 жыл бұрын
@@mattbaron14 Thanks. I think it is necessary to fulfill that desire *if* you want to remove the pain of it, which of course everyone wants. The sexual suppression route entails enduring that pain.
@mattbaron142 жыл бұрын
@@bds8715 Very true, although I would say fulfilling and suppressing are 2 sides of the same coin. When prayer or willpower fail, just like you said, it becomes a pain to endure that can make one feel like a failure or unworthy of God's love. I'm nowhere near perfect, but I try to accept my feelings and desires without judgment or action. Same approach as learning to effectively deal with OCD or compulsive behavior.

Many American girls will definitely be on the beach wearing bikinis this summer both in the East Coast & West Coast. In this modern world, the social girls will show some skin at display at the beach (or pool). America has really lost its ethical and moral behavior especially conservative modesty. I'm just thinking back in the old days like the Middle Ages where you can never find a single lady wearing bikini at the beach because they wore whole dress all the time. Just go to Miami beach and you shall definitely see bikini girls. What the heck?

Why didn’t you bring up men going shirtless?
@TyranyFighterPatriot2 жыл бұрын
@@catherinefranks3072 What you say is true. Self modesty of the body is to be respected by both parties on both sides of the Human spectrum. As for why it is much more stressed regarding women. This is because men are HYPER visual creatures and are primarily instinctively influenced by what they see with their eyes. Science says same with woman regarding what is heard in the ears. Another base Human reason why it's so stressed is, in addition to hyper vision driving male membranes etc. Men also have roughly 14 times the testosterone levels as their counterparts on a consistent basis. That is not to say women can't experience libido as strongly, but that for men it is infinitely more irritable. Lots to unpack, but hope this helps. You're point is absolutely correct all the same. The real issue is how to tap into the Modern Human consciences and shake the commoners out of apathy towards Rational Human virtues like Modesty AND chastity/celibacy....

I am French, and I consider it is because of American liberalism the society is sexualized (now in Netflix, you bring pornographic scene in serie, even a catholic country like Poland create sexual serie). At the time of my grand parent, meeting a wife was simple : you were living in village, you met a single women at the village party and 6 month after mariage at the church. Since the 60's, liberalism has infected my country : now everyone go to city to have a job, nobody know each other, you feel alone and unfortunaltey you feel in debauchery. I became atheist, because even Europen catholic girl fall into new moder life style : they just want to have "fun" instead of finding a nice husband.
