Күн бұрын

After years of lacklustre performances in Europe, José Mourinho stepped through the doors of the San Siro with the sole purpose of winning the Champions' League. For almost 50 years, Interistas had been starved of the continents most prestigious club trophy and "The Special One" was seen by Massimo Moratti as the man to change the club's culture. What followed was a historical campaign, and Inter's best in over a century!

It’s one of the greatest deals ever, they got Eto’o, Hleb and the 46 millions $ for Zlatan. That means that basically Eto’o’s salary was paid for the two years he was with them. Then Inter made $ winning the treble and selling jerseys. In the second year they finished second in Serie A but won the Coppa and the World championship which was as coveted as the champion’s league by ownership. Finally, they sold Eto’o to Anzhi were he went on to become the highest paid player for two years. It is I believe one of the greatest piece of business ever… Real Madrid acquiring CR7 was similar. They got him from Man U for 100 millions, won everything, made millions with his likeness and sold him a decade later to Juve for…100 millions… just incredible impeccable business…⚽️❗️

The first leg game vs Barcelona is probably the best counterattack masterclass ever seen. He planned that game thoroughly and beat them. Yes, one goal was offside, but Inter could have scored more than that also. Everytime a Barcelona player had the ball, they had 2 players closing every passing line and another man marking. And Inter attacked space on the counter relentlessly. Guardiola was outlcassed in both legs... defending 10 vs 11 for 70 minutes against that brilliant team and managing to limit them to 3 dangerous shots was absolutely phenomenal

Yep the goal was in offside, but 1 time for offside and 1 for a faul (all 2 not real) stop milito and eto’o 1v1 vs valdes in 1 half on 0-0…and in the second half of 1st leg the elbow of messi broke 2 teeth of maicon and if motta’s one (in the 2nd leg) was red card that was at least a ban for a season 😂😂😂

Sure, they travelled with no comfort in a damaged vehicle, and slept in muddy hotels. They had a real oddisey arriving to Milan. Yes, Inter scored one goal in offside. With the game 0-0, Milito was wrongly ruled offside twice when he was one on one with the goalkeeper. And if you actually watched the game, you would know that Inter outplayed them. @@willg1088 sitting your ass on a modern pullman wears people out now? "Barca was robbed in the match. " First leg, 0-0, wrong offside with Milito alone in front of the keeper. Then another bad call by the referee for an foul with Eto'o alone in front of the keeper again. On the 2nd leg, the wrong ejection of Motta. I agree that the referees were bad, but they damaged both teams. "They even destroyed inter in the same season in the group stage" And? 3:26 fun fact about this clip. Maicon wanted to get a yellow card so he would be suspended for the next match to travel to Brazil to spend the hollydays with his family. Mourinho told him that if he scored twice he would be OK with it, otherwise they wouldn't allow him to leave Italy. Thinking he was safe and there was no way he would be able to... So after scoring his second goal Maicon took his shirt off so he would get a yellow card.

Mourinho doesn't like sticking around for too long at a club and he wanted to leave every club he managed on a high. The so-called least seasons at the other clubs hes managed at other was mainly due to fatigue, boardroom shenanigans, dressing room bust-ups and the lot. Today's footballers are too coddled and the managers aren't tuned in to what it means to be a MANAGER, not just a coach who discusses tactics to his players, but one who could offer motivation and guidance when need be and kick up the backside.

Mourinho's teams are living proof that a strong defense and a solid counterattack can beat any other strategy. His Inter squad was the epitome of this. They faced all kinds of teams, playing totally different styles of football and he managed to neutralize them all. This was especially enlightning at the time when they faced Barcelona, previously thought unbeatable. But his tactics forced Barça to play anything but the only brand of football they knew, which was tiki taka. The catalans perfected that tactic so much that they would absolutely crumble whenever they were forced to play any other way, something that would start to happen more frequently before the formal end of the tiki taka era.

Absolutely I am a chelsea fan specially the squad he built for us in 2004/05 but this inter squad was scary.... that defense with Lucio , motta along with Stankovic, Eto , Wesley and Milito upfront was magnificent ❤

This Inter Milan team was a defensive masterpiece and as Bayern München Fan....it was a worthy opponent. We weren't ready yet....as a Lothar Matthäus Fan and because of him and Giovanni Trapattoni a Inter Milan friend....this final wasn't soul crushing like the Manchester United disaster. Inter Milan had a incredible experienced and defensively sound mixture of players....some knew this might be the last time they get this far. And a coach that is known to be a tactical master. They deserved this title as much as FC Bayern München did. Inter also made some intelligent transfers....Bayern München letting Lucio go made me actually upset - he was the last elite Libero....full of passion and fighting spirit. I also think Thiago Motto was a fantastic all-rounder. Great team....and probably the only team we lost against without me throwing remotes enraged....

Superb Video! That Inter squad was filled with warriors like jose loves. Enjoyed this era alot. Though was extremely sad at that time how he was sacked after winning two Premier league titles back to back. But happy he did ever so well in Inter with a treble. Always a Jose fan! I remember hating Mourinho with a passion when he managed Chelski, as a life-long Manchester United fan, but when he left, I started to appreciate what he has accomplished. Yes, I hated his guts for his arrogance. But it was one of his core attributes that made him, well, special. Truly one of the GOAT managers. And that Inter team, what an amazing assembly of talented, hard working players that complimented each other so well. The stand outs for me were Milito, Sneijder and Pandev.
