Draymond isn’t just “inefficient”, he’s somewhat of an offensive black hole for the warriors. I don’t think people realize how many big men in this league would die for a chance to play as Steph currys screen setter. Draymond literally gets left wide open to do whatever he wants when teams trap curry off every pick and roll. We’re not asking draymond to go get the ball and cook someone on an iso here. We’re asking him to have the slightest confidence to occasionally attack the rim strong or make a few 3’s with LITERALLY NOBODY around him.

Great insight by Mr. Dime Drop himself! Count me as deeply appreciating Dray. Using "Thinking Basketball" terminology, I feel like he's a catalyst and ceiling raiser for a team rather than a floor raiser. @Mark Esteven Federis eh your kind of right that Kerr would have had a way harder time coaching without his stars but regardless Kerr is a great coach and basketball mind. He took over for Mark Jackson who had two of the best shooters ever playing fucking iso ball with one of the worst efficiencies in the league and Kerr installed an offense that took full advantage of Curry and Thompson’s skills. Without Steve Kerr Curry and Klay would have wasted their primes playing a style of offense that wouldn’t have fully utilized their off ball skills. Mark Jackson instilled defensive toughness into the warriors but that was about it. Kerr created an offense that got the most out of his stars unique skill sets and he encouraged Steph Curry to become the off ball monster that he is today. Curry might not have become that same unique MVP talent without Steve Kerr. Curry can play iso ball just like Kyrie and Dame and he can play off ball just as good as Reggie Miller and Ray Allen and he wouldn’t have realized that other side to his game without Kerr. Y’all need to give Steve Kerr the credit he deserves.

@Mark Esteven Federis oh my bad didn’t realize Kerr was supposed to win another championship with a g league level roster last year. And even though that warriors team was pretty bad, they got better as the year went on and had a few big wins over the rockets and beat the nuggets one game as well. The warriors players improved a lot as they figured out that complex system. Are you too stupid of a fan to see the impact Kerr had on this organization when he finally created an offense that got the most out of Curry Klay and Draymonds skills? There isn’t a coach in the league that would have done any better with that warrior roster last year and I hope your smart enough to remember that Curry was hurt for the large majority of the year.

As someone who has watched probably close to 80% of all Warriors games from 2014-2021, I can say with certainty that Draymond Green is one of the greatest role / supporting players of all time. It's every minute of every game, every season. Constant relentless defensive, seeing the floor and always making the right play, setting up the offense, chasing every loose ball, and playing perfectly into the Warriors system and the offensive onslaughts of Steph and Klay. He has as much a role in Steph and Klay's career performances (single game 3 pt records, Klay's 37 in a quarter and 60 in 29 minutes) and all of their Finals runs and championships as they themselves do. When he retires, he deserves to be mentioned with the all-time great supporting players such as Pippen, Bowen, Rodman, Ginobili, Duncan, Stockton, Kidd, Baylor, Oakley, Grant, etc. Without a doubt HOFer and retired jersey.

I will remember him as the guy that cant make layups, freethrows, mid range shots, 3 pointers but still yell at people thinking he is as good as Magic
@harrymic754 жыл бұрын
As magic? I'm sure that's not more than ten people bro. They are irrelevant. He has very good attributes and has shown it many years overs though.
@futurehofer15644 жыл бұрын
@@harrymic75 he thinks that, not others lol Draymond is good, but he isnt insanely good like he might think he is. Steve Kerr told him to not shoot 3s and he complained like he was a good shooter. Like he said in the video, lucky he got to a team with Steph and Klay, otherwise he wouldnt be in the league

@@futurehofer1564 so you would not remember him as a DPOY? Because his defense is not overrated btw

@@patrickmatthews8191 this current season his defense is pretty overrated, most people will retain their last memory of him, so I guess not

Fully agree, you expressed his greatness in a way I believe the casual fan can even understand in order to hopefully start getting this man and players like him (similar in uniqueness) the credit they deserve.

Damn such beautiful wording from J Kyle Mann at the end there. Got an eloquence that is mostly unseen in the world of sports analysis. BR or ESPN should get on a deal asap.

Thank you for shedding light on what dray brings to the table. The warriors won't be the same if the core three isn't there.

He’s a defensive genius and a great playmaker. Knowledgeable basketball fans know how great he is and has been. He had a quote where he said a lot of players are 82 game players and some are 16 game players. He said he’s a 16 game player.

I remember him as one of the greatest players of all time defensively and several time champion possible several time dpoy. Unfortunately because of the amount of people saying he’s not an all star or that he’s a role player I doubt history will be so kind unless they get another chip with just our core

The thing about Draymond is.. he was a 2nd rounder.. don't see many All-Stars coming out of the 2nd round. So he knew from day 1.. he needed to everything that others couldn't be bothered to and that makes the difference. He then embraced his role and applied his work ethic to that role and the weaknesses the team had so he could get good enough at them to make up for what they were lacking.
